The sun had just gone and the night life of the city was just beginning to come to life. But despite the fact that Victor was a creature of the night he had already been up and about for a while. He had landed on the island only yesterday and after a brief stop for some food Victor was now ready to explore the island.

A place where Others gathered and lived. A place like that was bounded to full of weird and bizarre things happening all the time. Nope. It didn’t surprise Victor that the city was almost painfully normal but it was slightly disappointing.

With the sun finally gone from the sky Victor closed his umbrella and begun to use it as a walking stick instead. Stopping in the middle of the sidewalk Victor sighed as he looked around. He had hurried for the first time in his long life to come see this boring place?

"I smell popcorn!"
The sun was setting, and Charlie knew he wasn't going to make it to his home in time to catch that call from his mother. She told him that she would be calling within the next fifteen minutes or so. He glanced at his watch as he ran... damn. So close, but he was still so far.

As if trying to beat time, the blonde picked up speed and turned the corner super-fast! ... And bumped right into something solid.

Charlie fell backwards and landed on his butt, scraping his hands in the process. "Ooof!!" he shouted, and winced as he felt the pain shoot through his body. The boy hissed in pain as he examined his hands, but only after he glanced up did he realize he had slammed into another body and not a wall. "Oh my!" He exclaimed as he quickly got to his feet, "I'm so sorry. Are you alright?" He held his scraped hands near his chest as he tried to ignore the pain.

Victor had been completing what he might do next when suddenly he was hit by something that was moving fast. Before Victor’s mind was able to make any sense of it he found himself on the ground slightly dazed.

Shaking his head a little to clear a little bit of the daze Victor noticed that teenage boy had run into him and fallen down as well. As Victor stood up he corrected his hat then took a good look at the boy.

“No worries, I’m alright. Whatever doesn’t kill you makes you stronger my dad always used to say.” Victor said with a small chuckle. “The real question is are you alright? Moving that fast then stopping so suddenly can be rather painful.”

“Name is Victor by the way.” He said extending it for a handshake.

The blonde boy glanced down at the man's hand and then at his own. They were badly scraped, and the skin was raw from the rough landing. He offered Victor a smile instead of a handshake, and held his hands up for the other man to see. "I'd love to shake your hand, but..." Charlie left the sentence at that, figuring that Victor would infer what he was implying.

"I'm Charlie. Charlie Frensif." He continued to grin before he blew on his hands a little to ease the sting. If only he had a first aid kit, then he would be set on fixing this small nuisance. Making eye contact with Vincent again, he tried to play it off like he wasn't really in that much pain, "It's nice meeting you. I'm still sorry I bumped into you like that though. I normally make a better first impression."

“Here” Victor said as he ripped 2 long stripes of clothe off the bottom of his long jacket and offered them to Charlie, “you can wrap them around you hands." It was dark now so as long as Victor was able to return to where he was staying before dawn, the slight destruction of his jacket would be nothing. “I have too many of them lying around the house any way.” He said with a small chuckle.

“It’s nice to meet you too Charlie. And don’t worry; no permanent damage.” Victor said with a simile. “By the way if you don’t mind me asking why were you in such a rush to get where you’re going?”

The boy had begun to wrap his hands with the cloth, only offering Victor a smile in thanks as he preoccupied himself with the task. It was when the vampire asked why he was rushing, that Charlie inhaled sharply. He had completely forgotten! The blonde rose his wrist and stared at his watch with wide green eyes.

"... I'm too late..." He semi-whined in a pathetic manner. His shoulders slumped as he dropped his arm back to his side. "Ahh, she's going to kill me tomorrow." Charlie muttered as he began to compose himself. He waved a hand in front of his face, "Don't fret about it. My mom wanted me to call her at a specific time, and I sorta missed it. No big deal. I'm sure she'll be fine with it tomorrow."

Charlie shrugged and checked his bandaged hands to make sure they were wrapped carefully. He felt a little foolish now. He had rushed for nothing. "Well, I guess that clears my evening up." He smiled. "Did I ruin your plans too, Victor?"

“Sorry to hear about you missing the call.” Victor said as Charlie fretted over missing the call. “Don’t worry about missing it there’s always another time.” He said with a smile.

“No. In fact I only landed on the island yesterday and haven’t had a chance to make any plans really. I was simply going for a walk to do a little exploring. Perhaps you would like to join me and show me around the city?” Victor said as he glanced around trying to find his bearing in the unfamiliar city.

Charlie bit his lip. While he wanted to help Victor out by walking around a bit, he was also very new to this city, and not sure if he could really help out all that much.

... Well, if they were going to get lost in the city, then so be it! With a determined look on his face, Charlie nodded, "Sure thing. What would you like to see first? I have some knowledge of the place, so I should be able to assist you at least in some way." He finished saying this with a grin, and looked so happy that he would be able to make another friend by just being himself.

EVENT ALERT!

OOC:

お前の望み言え。
(Tell me your wish.)
どんな望みも叶えてやろう。
(I will grant you any wish.)
お前の払う代償はたった一つ。。。
(There is only thing you have to pay...)

Please resume the thread as normal. Just keep in mind that the mysterious wish-granting being won't appear to his host until he's utterly alone, which may be at the end of this thread. I encourage you two to keep going as normal and I shall wait for the perfect opportunity to reveal the being to whoever he possesses.

Be careful though! If the host is put in any unnecessary danger, he might show up faster. After all, his existence depends on his host, after all, and will do anything to see his contract fulfilled...

Above the skies of Nova Oasis, there was a small interdimensional portal that opened up, but it was impossible to detect due to it being so small. Not to mention it couldn't be seen unless you were attuned to its magical signature. And out of that portal, a small wisp-like thing came out and started hovering over the city. That wisp was the same as that portal; impossible to detect unless you were attuned to its signature. It flit about, searching... stalking...

Ahhhh... a fresh host...

It suddenly dove down with alarming speed, yet it couldn't be seen. After all, how can you see what doesn't really exist... yet?

"...Sure thing. What would you like to see first? I have some knowledge of the place, so I should be able to assist you at least in some way," Charlie said to Victor in response to his request to show him around.

BAMF.

The wisp slammed right into Charlie and entered his body. There weren't any ill effects, and he didn't really feel it other than a small push, but... there was a trail of sand as a result.
