Lavender heaved a sigh of relief as she set down her pen, having finally marked the last of her students' assignments, leaning back in her chair to take a few deep breaths. It was times like this that made her wish she were on an assignment from GLADIUS. But then again, whenever she's on a GLADIUS she'd wish she were teaching in the SEED Institute instead. The violet-haired Esper got up from her chair and grabbed her mug from her desk, walking over to a nearby water dispenser to fill it with water, mixing hot and cold water together to get a mug of lukewarm water. Taking a sip of water as she returned to her desk, Lavender picked up a cylindrical manuscript case that was sitting at the foot of her desk, removing from it a set of manuscripts. Setting aside the stack of assignments, Lavender unfurled the manuscripts as she set the sheets on her table, which appeared to be the manuscripts for a... doujinshi? The panels have already been laid out, penciled and inked... what was left was to decide on the dialog; strangely enough, the characters featured on the pages were... Cypriss and Beaumont. Lavender picked up a pencil, twirling it about absent-mindedly deciding on the dialog that should occur between the two guys so that once she gets home she didn't need to go through the trouble of thinking up the dialog and simply add the finishing touches on her computer.
Panel 1: Cypriss was freeloading off Beaumont as usual, watching television in Beaumont's living room reclining on a couch with a large bowl of popcorn. A shadow approaches from behind the couch. Panel 2: Cypriss notices Beaumont standing over him behind the couch, and sits up uneasily. Cyp: Oh hey Monty! I'm surprised to see you're still up this late. Panel 3: Beaumont sits down on the couch next to Cypriss, staring ahead with a faraway look in his eye. Cyp: You know... it's not like you to get a sleepless night, so... what's on your mind? Panel 4: Beaumont leans in towards Cypriss and rests a hand gently on Cypriss' cheek, a smile crossing his face. Monty: Yes... there is something I must tell you... Cyp: Um... what? Lavender looked up from her writing to see that no one else in the staff room was paying attention to what she was doing, and seeing that the coast was clear, Lavender continued working on her doujinshi... "... You know, I never pegged you for a Yaoi artist." To what would most likely be Lavender's chagrin, a familiar, annoying voice spoke from behind her. Deku Shima was more or less getting ready to go home from work. Considering there really wasn't much, since he was a Physical Fitness and Weapons Instructor along with Yamato, he was really just going back to the office to get his iPod. He was... an odd sort of fellow. Friendly as hell and could talk up a storm, but generally never tried to draw too much attention to himself. In fact, he always came and left the compound without so much as a whisper of his arrival or departure. Except this one time. Mostly because he a.) always thought it fun to tease Lavender every once in a while, and b.) the way she was looking around and making sure nobody else was looking over her shoulder piqued his interest even more. She didn't see him come in due to the "not too much attention to himself" part, and didn't see him in her scan because he was crouched behind his table, observing her from underneath. If Lavender spun around to find the precocious bastard, she would find that he was gone. He wasn't behind her, and he wasn't in front or in the sides, so where- "Oh jeez, these two? Man, Liz has been whining about them. You pick the weirdest people to put in your doujins. Of course, if it were Misuzu and Liz, I'd DEFINITELY get that." ... The voice came from above. Deku was hanging from one of the beams and looking at the doujin. Upside down. "Oh, and dialogue definitely needs work in panel four. And why is Beaumont the seme? It's an interesting reversal though." |

"... You know, I never pegged you for a Yaoi artist." A massive drop of sweat ran down Lavender's head as she heard a familiar voice coming from behind her - one that she couldn't say she was fond of hearing. Lavender looked over her shoulder, only to find that Deku was... not there. Now talk about being caught in a compromising situation... "Oh jeez, these two? Man, Liz has been whining about them. You pick the weirdest people to put in your doujins. Of course, if it were Misuzu and Liz, I'd DEFINITELY get that." Deku's voice now came from above, causing Lavender to look up, where she caught sight of her colleague dangling from the ceiling rafters as if he were Spiderman. "Oh, and dialogue definitely needs work in panel four. And why is Beaumont the seme? It's an interesting reversal though." "Oh, I didn't know you were into yaoi manga for you to give that remark..." Lavender was quick to sass back, an eyebrow raised in annoyance - but her annoyance could not hide the shame she bore as her face flushed red, the purple-haired Esper hurriedly furling up the manuscript and looking around hoping that Deku hadn't drawn too much attention to the two of them. |

"Tch, how naive! And you're part of the doujin circle scene! Of course I know about yaoi! I also know about yuri, straight, and a few other things. I am an all-around otaku, and if you're to pander to your audience, you should be one too!" Of course, much to his credit, Deku was saying all of this rather loudly enough for others to hear. "Though, this does explain why you were in Akihabara that time. After all, yo-" Well, apparently Deku wasn't thinking too far ahead. See, he was hanging from the beam on the ceiling, but his iPod was starting to fall off. When it did at that exact moment, his hands made to grab it. And he had to let go of the beam with both his arms and legs to grab it. ... Oops. This sent Deku crashing down onto Lavender's lap and into her table, making just a huge mess of things. It would probably send papers flying about, and God knows what kind of papers they were. Not to mention it would pretty much snap the table in half. Deku's ability to channel chi and strengthen his defenses kicked in, but that still didn't dismiss the fact that he caused a huge ruckus... and because of the way he fell, his head was right between Lavender's legs. "... Ow. Sorry about that. I'll... ask Liz to fix that..." he managed to groan, completely ignoring his placement at the moment. |

"Tch, how naive! And you're part of the doujin circle scene! Of course I know about yaoi! I also know about yuri, straight, and a few other things. I am an all-around otaku, and if you're to pander to your audience, you should be one too!" Deku replied rather... loudly, and to his credit some of the staff were actually looking in their direction, causing Lavender to facepalm on the inside. "Though, this does explain why you were in Akihabara that time. After all, yo-" Lavender went red the moment Deku made mention of Akihabara; after all, it was years ago, during that incident involving a maid cafe... "No, do not mention that incident!" the purple-haired Esper replied, her tone a combination of anger and embarrassment. It was at this moment Lavender notice Deku's IPod slipping, ready to fall. This made Deku attempt to grab hold of it, and the instructor let go of the ceiling rafter he was hanging on to in order to do so. Oh no... "OW!" Lavender cried out in pain as Deku crashed onto the table before sending her to the floor - the instructor had channeled his chi during the fall to prevent himself from sustaining any injuries, but this only caused the impact of his landing to smash Lavender's desk apart, scattering her students' assignments about as well as her manuscripts. My doujins! Lavender exclaimed in her thoughts. No... don't pick that up, please! This was made worse as an instructor went over to help Lavender gather up her stuff, and paused long enough to read through one of the manuscripts for the Cypriss x Beaumont doujin she was working on. "... Ow. Sorry about that. I'll... ask Liz to fix that..." "Nooooo..." Lavender gave vent to a long, plaintive moan as she took note of her colleague's expression. But, on to the more immediate issues at hand... "Hey!" Lavender shouted as she looked down at Deku, whose head was so conveniently positioned between her legs - a good thing she chose to wore jeans on this particular day, but that didn't make her feel any more reassured towards the compromising situation they were currently in. Now, it would be unthinkable if Liz were to catch them in said position. "Watch where you position your head!" The purple-haired Esper frantically pulled back, moving back along the floor until her back hit the foot of a nearby staff desk. This has been a terrible day indeed... Deku managed to look in the instructor's direction and saw that he had one of Lavender's doujins on hand. And with the way she was groaning from the look on his face... "<Sigh... I guess it can't be helped.>" "Oh, good, you've got one of them. I was worried that my entry for this Summer Comiket would get lost. I was asking Lavender here to critique it since, well, I'm kind of pandering to her audience and all that," Deku spoke up. "I don't suppose you can help me find the rest of them pages, can you?" "Hey! Watch where you position your head!" Lavender cried, squiggling back as if to keep him away from her. "What do you mean-WHOA!" This time Deku realized where he was and managed to pull himself away from her. "... Sorry about that. Totally didn't mean to, really," he said sincerely. With that, he began to help pick up the other papers that were scattered on the floor, making sure to separate between actual school paper work and her doujin. "Here..." he said somewhat sadly as he handed her her papers. Perhaps he had gone too far this time. "If there's anything I can do to fix this somehow..." |

"Give that back to me!" Lavender pleaded as she scrambled back onto her feet and made her way towards her colleague who was reading through the page of the doujin that he had happened to pick up. The dialog on said page has yet to be penned by Lavender - but not that she cared at the moment; what really embarrassed the amethyst-haired instructor was that the main panel on the page featured Beaumont kissing a stunned Cypriss long and hard, while roses and sparkles appeared in the background. For the time being, Deku was ignored as Lavender turned her attention to the instructor who was reading the page with great interest, a goofy-looking smile crossing his face. The instructor chuckled as he returned the page to Lavender, although he didn't stop chuckling even as he returned to his desk. "... Sorry about that. Totally didn't mean to, really," Deku's sincere apology snapped Lavender back to reality. The purple-haired girl's heavy breathing slowed down, returning to her normal pace as Lavender raised a hand to wipe away the teardrops that had begun welling up in her eyes. And to show that he was truly apologetic over the little accident, Deku did help Lavender to gather the documents and papers that were scattered about the floor, even going through the trouble of sorting out the students' assignments and her doujin manuscripts. "Here..." He handed the papers back to Lavender, a tinge of sadness in his voice. There was a brief moment of silence before Lavender spoke. "Thank... you," the SEED instructor nodded her thanks as she took hold of the papers Deku returned to her - overall, she had to admit he was an all-around decent guy, and could easily understand how a relationship between Liz and himself could form, although Deku still remained one person she wasn't too fond of hanging around with due to the bizarre string of mishaps that seemed to home in onto her like a laser-guided missile whenever Deku is around. Seriously... as far as Lavender was concerned, that guy is to her as Kryptonite is to Superman. "If there's anything I can do to fix this somehow..." As soon as Lavender heard Deku's offer, the purple-haired Esper's expression changed radically, as a sly smile crossed her face, the instructor's expression somewhat akin to that of a fox. "Is it?" Lavender muttered under her breath. "How about you help me come up with the dialog for my doujin?" Lavender asked. |

Deku blinked at Lavender's little request. "Me. Help you write a dialogue for what seems to be... a yaoi doujin. Using two people from your work." He gave her a look that seemed to say "What the hell are you on!? Drugs!?" which slowly turned into an expression that said "I want some of what you're smoking then!" and into a Cheshire cat grin. "Oho. So you do want me to help with that. Sure. I don't mind. But is your mind prepared? When you come into my world, you will see all sorts of horrible things. Things that should stay hidden, and things that would destroy your innermost psyche if you are too weak. You may lose your soul in the process!" he began to say with ever growing vigor. To him, this was SERIOUS BUSINESS. "THIS IS WAR, ENSIGN SMITH. WE DO NOT TAKE PRISONERS. "... well, considering that I've seen you back there in Akihabara and you're already doing this, then that shouldn't be too much of a problem," he suddenly said somewhat nonchalantly. "Giving such a speech like that to someone who is already one of us kinda seems pointless. So, where do you want to do this? I doubt we can do this here..." he said, his head turning towards the completely shattered table next to them. "Besides, I'm not sure when Liz comes by when she's... well, Liz." |

"Me. Help you write a dialogue for what seems to be... a yaoi doujin. Using two people from your work." Deku blinked, seemingly in surprise at Lavender's request, before giving the amethyst-haired Esper a surprised look, which then gave way to a Cheshire cat like grin. "Oho. So you do want me to help with that. Sure. I don't mind. But is your mind prepared? When you come into my world, you will see all sorts of horrible things. "Giving such a speech like that to someone who is already one of us kinda seems pointless. So, where do you want to do this? I doubt we can do this here..." Lavender looked at her desk, which was shattered from Deku's landing - they would need a proper table, that's for sure. But worse would be what would Liz react if she were to pay her boyfriend a visit and catch him helping to write the dialog for a yaoi doujin? "Besides, I'm not sure when Liz comes by when she's... well, Liz." "I suppose we could either head by to somewhere where we can work quietly on that without being disturbed," Lavender added - the current possibilities included the campus library, or perhaps her home. |

Deku pondered on those requirements. A quiet place where they wouldn't be disturbed? He eliminated his house, since, well, a few freeloaders were there and apt to bug them about what they were doing, especially that loli maid. And no way was he going to be caught in Lavender's house by themselves. It was bad enough that there were rumors of "pictures", to make it worse by having them work together at her house would be unthinkable. "Hmmm... well, since we're more or less just looking at dialogue, perhaps we can work at the library. We should also get something to drink on the way. I tend to think better when I've got a smoothie in my mouth," Deku chuckled. ... Of course, he still uneasily looked at the broken table. "... we... should leave a note here. So that someone can replace it or something." |
