"You know, there's nothing wrong with you taking some of those eshrooms. They're not related to any of my endevours, so I see no harm in letting you take some." Lavender nodded at Terado's remark - while she would be certain to keep the location of this underground cave a secret, she was grateful that Terado allowed her to collect some of the curiously luminescent mushrooms known as Eshrooms.

"Thanks Terado," Lavender replied with a smile as she gathered a few mushrooms, putting them inside her bag. The amethyst-haired Esper wondered if they were edible, though. Looking over at Terado, Lavender saw the Sentinel remove his shoes and take a dive into the pool, swimming beneath the emerald-hued water's surface.

Kneeling by the water's edge, Lavender ran her fingers through the water - it was pleasantly cool to touch, and she noticed how some of the rocks at the bottom were actually giving off a green light; which was probably what contributed to the green color of the underground lake. Giggling slightly, Lavender removed her shoes and socks and sat down at the water's edge, dipping her feet into the water.

A while later, Terado surfaced. "Is the OASIS foundation a good place to work? I actually don't know much about work myself and am interested to know."

"Well, it's had its ups and downs," Lavender replied as she skimmed the water with her feet. "Working at OASIS has given me exposure to all manner of cultures and people - it's certainly broadened my perspective of the world and an enriching experience... but it has also brought me in touch with both the best and the worst humanity and Espers have to offer." The violet-haired Esper sighed as she looked up at the ceiling.

Terado swan towards Lavender, "Hmm, interesting. Seems like you've got a pretty good grasp of the world." said Terado, not bothering to disguise the tone of his voice, as he was clearly reffering to something else as well in a joking manner. He swam into the shallows, lying down on the bedrock there. The water lapped against his body, but left his back above the water. While his head rested on his hands he looked at Lavender's naked feet for a moment.

Dammit...is this never going to stop? For Christ sake Gaia...

It was almost as if Shalua was sitting right in front of him. The hair, the face, everything seemed so close to Shalua's. Terado looked up at Lavender. "You know, you don't look half bad in this light." he said, his face impassive as he passed the comment. Coming to a kneeling position, he looked at Lavender. "Its odd. You remind me of someone I knew from long ago. She looked a lot like you, although was a lot more outspoken." Terado folded his arms. "Although, she was kind natured like you are."

Terado stood up, walking into the deeper parts of the water again. There a restlessness to him suddenly. He lowerd himself back undenearth, istting under the water and holding his breath while his hair floated around beneath the surface. What's the matter with me? Has it really been that long since I last did something like this?

"Hmm, interesting. Seems like you've got a pretty good grasp of the world," Terado mused as he swam towards Lavender, although something in the Sentinel's voice told Lavender he was also hinting at something else. Terado swam to the shallows of the lake, resting against the rocky bottom with his back above the water, resting his head on his hands while giving Lavender's bare feet a glance.

"You know, you don't look half bad in this light." Terado commented, his expression impassive. Lavender smiled as she leaned back slightly, brushing her hair. "Its odd. You remind me of someone I knew from long ago. She looked a lot like you, although was a lot more outspoken." The Sentinel raised himself to a kneeling position as he looked at the amethyst-haired Esper.

"Oh?" Lavender asked as she leaned in towards Terado, eager to hear what the Sentinel had to say.

"Although, she was kind natured like you are." That being said, Terado retreated back to the deeper parts of the lake, appearing somewhat restless as he submerged himself, disappearing beneath the water's surface save for his locks of hair drifting about.

"Hey, are you all right?" Lavender asked as she slowly stood up.

Terado didn't really hear her that well, but he got the gist of what she was saying. It had been so long since he had actually given his heart to someone, the last time was over a millinia ago and he had been alone ever since, not making any contact with anyone up until recently. He wanted to live a normal life, like he used to. Unfortunately he simply couldn't forsake his duty and he didn't want to kill himself. If he did that, then he would never see Shalua again. That was how it was in ancient lore scriptures.

Terado closed his eyes and held his breath. He wouldn't be able to for much longer. He needed to make a descision. He couldn't hide from Lavender like with other people. He needed to stay in touch with her since she now possessed the scorpion totem. But if he did that, then he would have to be prepared to intigrate himself truely into this world. He let out his breath, the bubbles floating to the surface. Terado raised himself up with them. That was it then. For this century, he would come out of the shadows.

It was not like he hadn't done it before. He was still a man with a mortal's soul after all. He couldn't be alone forever, he just couldn't. Terado turned around to look at Lavender, his body dripping with water. He began to slowly stride towards her through the shallows, until his was about a meter away from her. "Have you ever loved someone else in your life before? Not a family member. A signifigant other."
Terado wanted to know, before he did anything further. He didn't want to hurt anything that was already exsisting. But if there was none, then he would make his thoughts known.

Terado was underwater for a rather long time, and that made Lavender rather worried. The SEED instructor was about to use her Aero Whip to fish Terado out of the water when bubbles broke the surface, followed by the Sentinel rising above the water with a splash. Still dripping wet, Terado waded towards Lavender until he was merely a meter away from her. "Have you ever loved someone else in your life before? Not a family member. A signifigant other." Terado asked as he stood before Lavender, with nothing but shadows and the jade glow from the pool and Eshrooms around them.

"Well, I..." Lavender raised her right hand and rested it on her chest - now that was a rather intimate question, wasn't it? The amethyst-haired Esper blinked her eyes twice as she swallowed hard. "Well, not really... I mean, come to think of it, I've never really considered the possibilities." Lavender lowered her head - she wondered if the answer she gave made her come off as a celibate, but when one's job required one to often look upon the big picture, very often it is just so easy to miss out on the more minute details of life.

That was a no. Terado looked at her carefully. She seemed very put off by the topic and his forwardness towards it. Listen to him. He was so dead-set on this he wasn't treating her like a woman. He cast his eyes downward and saw his reflection in the water. He had such a...hungry look in his eyes. He could see a wolf looking back at him. This was...so disgraceful. He had no right to ask her such a question and so out of the blue as well, despite his personal feelings.

"I'm-I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked..." said Terado, turning his face away, wet hair covering his eyes. "I don't know what I was thinking to ask something like that so out of the blue." This was another problem with avoiding people, you forget how to be social, you become selfish and fixated only on your desires. That wasn't how a man of selfless duty was meant to act. With a sigh, Terado went and sat down on the bank, raising his knees to his chest while wrapping his arms around them and resting his head on his knees. He looked at the ripples he'd caused, they were gradually fading, but the water was still disturbed.

"I guess. I was just curious." he said, not looking at Lavender but looking at the water. "I dunno, I guess you could say that I only ever really did love only one person. Although, there were others in my past who I got close to and loved as well." He looked at Lavender and a shy smile crept onto his face. "I'm sorry, I'm not good at interacting with others, not like I was anyway. Something like that isn't my business."

"I'm-I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked..." Terado replied as he looked away - his wet hair clung to his face and hid his eyes from view. "I don't know what I was thinking to ask something like that so out of the blue." The Sentinel sighed as he sat down on the bank, drawing his knees in close to him.

"It's... it's all right," Lavender spoke as she sat down on the bank next to Terado, her feet stirring the water idly. "The suddenness of your question stunned me, that is all..." the violet-haired Esper continued.

"I guess. I was just curious." Terado avoided making eye contact with Lavender, but instead stared at his reflection on the water's surface "I dunno, I guess you could say that I only ever really did love only one person. Although, there were others in my past who I got close to and loved as well," this time the Sentinel looked in Lavender's direction with a shy smile on his face - now that was something Lavender hadn't seen in Terado; the other times she had seen him he seemed so stoic and impassive.

"I'm sorry, I'm not good at interacting with others, not like I was anyway. Something like that isn't my business."

"Even if that's so, you'll be surprised at how just having someone to listen to you can make your problems seem lighter," Lavender added, nodding empathically. She used to confide in Achilles-sensei and the founding Big Three whenever she felt her problems felt too much for her to bear - and the weight of the world does feel lighter when you can find another shoulder to carry your emotional burdens along with you. "Forgive me for asking... but you sound troubled," Lavender looked at Terado; she had been rather curious on what could possibly be eating at him.

Terado nodded, "I am, lately I've been having dreams from my past. Not nightmares, but good and happy times. And I've just started to realise how much I've missed them." It had started upon his first meeting with Lavender and only truely got continuos after their second meeting. And here they were, together for the third time, with no danger looming over their heads. Terado looked up at the ceiling for a moment. All he could do was try, right? It didn't matter if she said no, at least his feelings would be known.

He looked at Lavender, "I'm not going to lie to you. I've got an innate ability to read a person, similar to how animals can smell fear. In the few times we've met, I've come to a conclusion about you." His eyebrows raised slightly, a peaceful and content expression came onto his face, "Forgive my forwardness, but I think I've fallen in love with you Lavender."

There it was. All that could happen now was the reaction.

"I am, lately I've been having dreams from my past. Not nightmares, but good and happy times. And I've just started to realise how much I've missed them." Terado spoke as he looked up upon the ceiling of the cave before looking at Lavender. "I'm not going to lie to you. I've got an innate ability to read a person, similar to how animals can smell fear. In the few times we've met, I've come to a conclusion about you." An expression of peace and contentment crossed Terado's face.

"Yes?" Lavender asked as she looked at Terado.

"Forgive my forwardness, but I think I've fallen in love with you Lavender." Now that was pretty straightforward.

"Well... I..." Lavender raised her eyebrows at Terado's declaration. The amethyst-haired Esper began to blush at the cheeks as she folded her hands together and placed them before her lap, lowering her head hoping that Terado wouldn't see her face. "Thank you," Lavender replied.

The SEED instructor took a deep breath before looking up at Terado. "It's good to hear that after so long there's someone in this world who cared about me," Lavender replied - she now knows that there is at least one person who is capable of starting an intimate relationship with her. "It's kind of funny, really... all my life I've always cared about others, protected them... but I've never stopped to wonder if there's others out there who'd do the same for me. Now I know that there is one such person." A smile crossed Lavender's face as she spoke.

"Thank you."

Those two words alone caused Terado's entire face to show great surprise, for the first time this century for that matter. When Lavender looked at him, Terado looked at her, an extremely joyful and loving grin creeping onto his face. Listening to Lavender's words, he nodded, "I know how you feel. Exactly actually. When I was young, I once loved a sentinal girl. But, after she died...I locked my heart away for a long time. I didn't know if there could be someone else that I could love or who could love me. But, I've found that I was wrong."

Terado reached out to Lavender and took her hand in his, clasping it gently. "I swear to you now. You have my heart and while you have it, I will do anything in my power to protect you." Terado hesitated for a moment after that, before leaning in close to Lavender and gently kissing her lips. He felt an explosion going on inside of him, emotions he had not felt for Gaia knows how long. He leaned back after the kiss, looking at Lavender tenderly.

Terado's entire disposition seemed to change. His features were softer, his usual stern look was no longer present. He seemed, for once, off guard, even more so than when he had entered the cave.

For once, Terado's normally stoic expression broke as he displayed a look of surprise upon hearing Lavender's statement. As Lavender looked at the Sentinel, a joyful and loving grin crossed his face. "I know how you feel. Exactly actually. When I was young, I once loved a sentinal girl. But, after she died...I locked my heart away for a long time. I didn't know if there could be someone else that I could love or who could love me. But, I've found that I was wrong."

"That's so sad..." Lavender replied even as Terado took hold of her hand and clasped it gently.

"I swear to you now. You have my heart and while you have it, I will do anything in my power to protect you." There was a brief moment of hesitation, before Terado leaned in and Lavender felt his kiss upon her lips - a more intimate contact compared to the last time in Egypt. The purple-haired Esper closed her eyes as Terado kissed her, her thoughts lost in a sea of passion. Leaning back after he was done, Lavender couldn't help but notice the look of tenderness within his eyes.

"You have me, and I have you," Lavender replied with a confident smile. "Together, we can take on any challenge." That being said, Lavender lifted an arm and rested it around Terado's shoulders as a gesture of affirmation.

Terado nodded, feeling Lavender's hand on his shoulder. "I wouldn't have it any other way. I pray that we will be able to walk towards a bright furture together." Terado then slowly raised himself up and Lavender along with him, taking her hand and gently pulling up to stand. "Lavender. I want you to be able to contact me should you ever be in trouble." Terado touched her totem, causing it to glow a faint purple, before touching his own and making it glow turquoise. The two totems seemed to vibrate in ressonance.

Terado then leaned forward, "Sorry, but this one is a necessary one." he said with a playful tone and kissed Lavender fully on the lips this time. The totem medallions began to grow brightly as the kissed, dieing down once they stopped. Terado then pulled back, smiling contently. "There, are totems are now bonded." It wasn't exactly the most ethical of processes to join two people, seeing as many owners of totems in the past often worked in pairs of the same sex. However, such a problem didn't apply to him and Lavender.

"Just think really loud when you need to speak to me and I'll hear you." said Terado, thinking back to his past one more time.

Shalua had told him something important back then and he had almost forgotten it after losing her. It was love, not achievement, that would rid him of his demons. She was afraid that Terado would put his duty before her and so Terado vowed that he would always protect her first. But in the end, that wasn't enough, because Terado lacked the power to do so back then. Terado had the weight of the world on his shoulders now, literally, but he felt a little more at ease with Lavender helping to share the responsibility.

"I wouldn't have it any other way. I pray that we will be able to walk towards a bright future together." Terado spoke as he slowly stood up and took hold of Lavender's hand, helping her to her feet along with him. "Lavender. I want you to be able to contact me should you ever be in trouble." The purple-haired Esper looked on curiously as Terado touched the scorpion medallion worn around her neck, causing it to glow purple before touching the eagle medallion worn around his and causing it to glow turquoise.

"Sorry, but this one is a necessary one," he said in a playful tone as he leaned forward and kissed Lavender fully on the lips. Lavender felt a warm stirring within her heart as Terado did so, as she gently wrapped her arms around the Sentinel's waist - while the totems' medallions glowed brightly, the light slowly dying down once they broke contact.

"There, are totems are now bonded." Terado smiled contentedly as he pulled back.

"So you're saying we can communicate with each other via our totems' medallions now?" Lavender asked as she lifted up her scorpion talisman to look at it, before looking at Terado.

"Just think really loud when you need to speak to me and I'll hear you." Terado replied.

"I see..." Lavender nodded. So they can communicate telepathically - somewhat like being linked together via Beaumont's Esper field. "At least I now have a means of keeping in touch with you," the purple-haired Esper smiled as she looked at Terado. Before today he had been an elusive one, having no known telephone number or email address or even a permanent residence - she could understand such was the result of the kind of life he had been leading.

Terado nodded, "That's exactly what I'm saying. We can communicated telepathically once you've learned to fully master your totem, but as for now, speaking into it will work just fine I'd assume. We'll worry about the astroprojection aspects of the totem later." said Terado leaning back a bit and folding his arms. "In all honesty, I think it was time I helped others as well. Part of my duty was to assist the public, not just moving towards completing my own agenda. I have all the time in the world to do that."

Terado then moved towards the wall of the cave, looking around for the exit seal. "You know, I wouldn't mind helping you with any OASIS matters either. But we'll keep things about me hush hush. If anyones asks about me in those matters, then only refer to me as Bolo Kitensin." Terado found the seal, touching it gently and pushing in what was a mechanism with a rock acting as the button. The wall nearby began to rise, revealing a set of stairs.

Turning back to Lavender, "You can leave whenever you're ready, but I'm going to stay and enhoy the water some more."

Lavender watched as Terado touched the walls of the cave, as if looking for something - she noticed the Sentinel touch what seemed to be a seal carved into the rock face. "You know, I wouldn't mind helping you with any OASIS matters either. But we'll keep things about me hush hush. If anyones asks about me in those matters, then only refer to me as Bolo Kitensin." That being said, the Sentinel gave the seal a gentle press, triggering a hidden mechanism. A section of the wall began to rise, revealing a flight of stairs.

"You can leave whenever you're ready, but I'm going to stay and enhoy the water some more."
Terado said as he turned back to Lavender.

"Well then, we'll keep in touch from here on... it's been nice meeting you," Lavender nodded as she headed up the stairs which presumably led to the surface, but not before giving Terado a thumbs-up.
