"Hey look. The moon is coming out." The clouds drifted apart slightly, the wiind caressing them to move. Slowly the rays of the moon shone themselves down upon the small campsite wear the remains of a fire lay. Alongside it was also the remains of a dead calf that had been seperated from the herd that was sleeping in the meadow below. The blood of the calf dripped down their chins as the moon slowly came out and shone down on the rocky spire of stone. The two Sentinels looked up at the moon. Slowly, Terado's wold ears and tail began to grow. Shalua giggled, "You can't keep those away under this light can you?" she said looking at him from the other side of the campfire where she had been sitting. Terado turned to face her, he'd been standing on a ledge lower down. "Well, it's difficult for me. I don't get it. We're both the same age and I'm way better at using my powers than you. How is it you can resist the moon's light?" Shalua brought her legs up to her chest, turning her head to the side, "I guess I just know my body better than you." Terado blushed, knowing for certain she meant that in another way. "That's not fair..." he said, embarressed beyond belief that she'd bring that subject up, "I'm only 16, what do you expect?" Shalua looked up properly now, seeing that her word had really stung. She had meant them as a joke, but she guessed it had been something really important for Terado. Well, it was for her as well, but the only important thing was that it had been him as oppossed to anyone else. "Terado...I'm sorry." she crawled over to him, her dress trailing behind her, "If it makes you feel better, you can try again." Her eyes shone brilliantly in the moonlight. Terado turned to face her. Both of them had been blessed by the spirit of the wolf. They were kindred hearts. He leaned down, his eyes catching the light as well, "I'd appreciate that." "Good, because I wouldn't have taken no for an answer." Terado slowly leaned down, while Shalua leaned up ![]() ===================================================================== Terado woke up, shielding his eyes from the approaching dawn. Terado pulled himself up, rubbing his eyes. His hood had fallen down while he had slept. That dream...this was the same spot as before, Terado would never forget. But then again, he'd never forget most of the places in this world. There were so many memories... Terado pulled his hood up, and sat watching the dawn rise from atop of the stone ledge. This was Nova OASIS now...would Lavender be here? He shook his head. "Stop it. You know it would never work. It would all end the same way..." |

Lavender paused to catch her breath as she wiped her sweat off her forehead with the towel draped over her shoulders. Extensive use of E'S abilities are highly taxing on the body, and with this in mind Lavender was mindful to constantly keep herself in good shape, and part of it includes a regular workout regime, which Lavender routinely goes for before the break of down. The GLADIUS commander was dressed in her regular workout gear - black knee-length pants, black and white trainers and a violet sports bra with black accents, with her amethyst-purple haired tied back in a ponytail by a simple white hair tie; the Mentor's Stone and Scorpion Medallion of Al-Aqran hung from a simple black string worn around her neck. Lavender brought her left hand up to glance at the time on her wristwatch, before nodding to herself - morning exercise time was almost through, which was time for her to cool down and head back home for breakfast and a shower. After performing her cool down routine, Lavender headed towards a nearby tree where she had left a sporting bag holding some stuff she had brought along, retrieving from within it a water canteen. Taking a swig of water, Lavender instinctively turned her head around when she head a voice nearby. "Stop it. You know it would never work. It would all end the same way..." "Now... where have I heard that voice before?" Lavender mused as she walked towards the source of the voice, the grass rustling softly beneath the soles of her trainers as she made her way up a rocky knoll, towards a cloaked figure lying on its edge. As the purple-haired Esper neared the cloaked figure, her eyes widened a little in surprise, before a smile crossed her face upon recognition. "Terado..." |

Terado's ears perked up. He then smelt the aroma, that same, aroma of female mixed with sweat. It was the third time he had smelt it and so that already meant he was well accustomed to it. This one in particular, sent a slight shiver down his back. Was Gaia tormenting him or giving him a friendly elbow in the ribs? Dreaming of days long past and now this? Terado slowly got up, turning around facing Lavender without his hood being on. "Why is it whenever we meet you seem to be breaking out in a sweat?" Not exactly the most pleasant way of greeting someone, but the gentle smile that occampanied it more than made up for it. Looking at her attire and the fact that she was sweating far more than when in Africa, Terado could only guess she had been doing some form of exercise. He stepped down on a few rocks to come and meet her face to face. Well almost, he was looking down at her due to his height, but still. Terado looked down at her necklace cord, seeing Al-Aqran's medallion there. "I see you're taking good care of that there." he said tapping it gently. In the past he'd really only seen Lavender is working clothes, but at this point in time he was VERY aware of her womanlyness. Damn you Gaia... he knew the king of totems revelled in enjoying his own practical jokes. |

As Lavender approached, Terado stood up, looking at her with his hood lowered. "Why is it whenever we meet you seem to be breaking out in a sweat?" The Sentinel asked as he made his way down to get closer to Lavender, a gentle smile upon his lips. The purple-haired Esper giggled slightly at Terado's reply. "Well, at least things are never dull when you're around," Lavender said with reference to their previous encounters, first in Morocco, then in Egypt. "Not that I'm particularly fond of sweat and grime myself, but it's really an unavoidable part of my job," she added as she took hold of the ends of her towel to dry off the sweat from her neck and collar region. During her short tenure as the commander GLADIUS Corps' field operations Lavender had seen her fair share of being drenched, stuck in dirty and unpleasant environments and all manner of physical discomfort; but in the context of her job, an uncomfortable environment is really just the least of her worries. "I see you're taking good care of that there." "Ah, you mean him," Lavender looked down at the scorpion talisman of Al-Aqran, smiling fondly as she lifted up the string, dangling the scorpion talisman and Mentor's Stone together in front of her face. "Not once do I ever let him out of my sight," she commented, before realizing that Terado was looking at her in a particularly interested manner. |

Terado nodded, "I'm happy to here that. It means I made the right choice in trusting you." Terado then sat down on one of the large rocks. "If I can be frank. I think I prefer having met you sweating. Everyone in the world these days is constantly spraying deoderant and perfume. I mean, look at me for example. I don't spray anything and I don't smell, now do I?" Scary thing of it all was that Terado was a hundred perfect right. He didn't smell. In fact he hardly even looked dirty despite all the traveling he did. "You know, people don't seem to realise what their bodies are truely capable of doing. They've let all these laws and technology blind them. But I'm not one to preach, that's just my take on things." Terado was looking at her playing with the necklace trinkets. She seemed young... Ok well everyone technically was young compared to Terado, but he was meaning that she seemed far to young to be caught up in organisations. "Lavender, tell me. How old are you?" |

"I'm happy to here that. It means I made the right choice in trusting you," Terado nodded as he found a large rock nearby to sit down on. Lavender sat down on the grass, with her left leg raised and her right put forward, craning her neck upwards to look at the Sentinel. "If I can be frank. I think I prefer having met you sweating. Everyone in the world these days is constantly spraying deoderant and perfume. I mean, look at me for example. I don't spray anything and I don't smell, now do I?" For starters, Lavender didn't have an enhanced sense of smell like Achilles-sensei or Terado; but even going by normal human senses, Terado certainly didn't give off any undesirable odors which would make social situations awkward to some. Lavender nodded, indicating her agreement with Terado. "You know, people don't seem to realise what their bodies are truely capable of doing. They've let all these laws and technology blind them. But I'm not one to preach, that's just my take on things." Lavender turned her attention from her trinkets back to Terado. "You've got a point," Lavender replied as she massaged her raised left leg - kneading the kneecap, before rubbing down the length of her shin. "My mentor, Achilles-sensei had always taught me the importance of doing one's best and valuing the idea of effort, and not to be enslaved by the temptation of convenience - of course, that's not to say that we shouldn't do things the convenient way when it's a sensible thing to do." The purple-haired Esper paused as she straightened out her left leg and folded up her right, repeating on her right leg the same massaging action she did earlier to her left. Lavender continued, "But one should never let oneself be led astray by the desire to always get things the easy way." The purple-haired Esper dug into her bag to retrieve her water canteen, taking a sip of water. "Lavender, tell me. How old are you?" Talk about a bolt out from the blue. "Eh?" Lavender gasped, before suddenly springing to her feet. "That's a woman's secret you're talking about!" She exclaimed in a feigned tone of playful annoyance, before winking at Terado and sticking her tongue out at him. "I'm currently into my second decade and third year as a living person," Lavender replied, a sugary smile on her face. She could've said twenty-three, but two decades and three years sounded more witty to her. |

Achilles-sensei? Terado wondered for a moment if there was any connection. He had met the real Achilles once. Hell he had been on of the most sickly looking babies he'd ever seen. He had taken pity on him and told his mother about the river where a very powerful water totem resided. Ah well, it was a long time ago. But the problem with age is that you start thinking more about things done in the past than things in the present. "I can agree with you there. Needless to say I will take a boat and plane from time to time. But they are rather bothersome at times." Because of customs and passports. Terado often had to resort to paying high taxes to ship his own luggage with kaneryuu inside. "I don't mind convinience, but I've always been raised with the idea of doing things for myself. My father always taught that if a man cannot provide a strong base for others to stand on, then what is his purpose in the world." When Lavender sprung up in surpise and stuck her tongue out about being asked her age, before finally revealing it, Terado smiled and shook his head slightly, "Well don't worry, I'm not going to be asking your weight." It was then that he stood up to and turned around to look at the rising sun. "You're older than I thought you were though. I had you pegged at 20." The wind blew gently, blowing Terado's hair as he stood in the sunlight, shining on a profile of his face from Lavender's point of view. "Time and age just seems like an illusion for me. Its been virtually 3 millenia since I really was 25." Terado was taking a chance with revealing something like this to Lavender. But he'd taken enough chances in his life already. One more coudn't hurt. |

"Well don't worry, I'm not going to be asking your weight," Terado smiled and shook his head slightly, eliciting a slight chuckle from Lavender. The Sentinel stood up to look at the rising sun, its warm glow washing over the two of them. "You're older than I thought you were though. I had you pegged at 20." "Wow? Oh, really?" Lavender asked as she turned a little pink around the cheeks, watching Terado's hair rustle in the gentle breeze that blew. "Time and age just seems like an illusion for me. Its been virtually 3 millenia since I really was 25," he continued. "Oh my..." Lavender gasped as she rested her left hand on her chest. "You must've really gone through a lot over the centuries..." Lavender commented, wondering what it was like to be immortal. The first thing she thought of was that it must be a curse to many - when everyone he ever took a liking to would eventually pass on while he was doomed to remain unaffected by the ravages of time. |

Terado turned his head slightly and looked back at Lavender. Her reaction was interesting. It was one of the few that he'd seen in his life. Many often only wanted to know how he attained it, but she had already thought of how it had affected him, the curse of having eternal life. It was odd really. Destiny had an odd way of working because a long time ago... ================================================================= Terado held himself up over Shalua both his and her body glistening with the sweat of their lovemaking, under the moonlight. Her control over he transformed state had slipped a bit, he could see fangs and claws on her now, but everything else was still the same. She smiled a toothy grin at him. "Hihihi, you've certainly improved." "Glad to be of service." responded Terado playful before nuzzling her neck, which brought about shrieks of laughter from Shalua. She wiggled her way out from under him and back up a bit, going low on all fours and baiting him. He smiled and chased after her, bobbing and weaving, pucing on her softly, before baiting her. Playing like wolves did in the moonlight. Eventually, Terado caught her, wrapping his arms around her waist and lowering them both both into a sitting position, with her resting on his lap. Terado felt Shalua's body shaking, the felt the warm trickl of tears along his torso. "Shalua, what is it?" She looked up at him, "Idiot. What if I don't see you after you leave tomorrow. What if you die and don't come back?" Terado sighed quietly. She was still worried about his descisions to go on the totem hunt. He knew the clan needed a Grand Totem if it was to stand a chance agaisnt the unruly Others. "Don't worry. I'm not gonna die. That's a promise." ================================================================= One that hasn't been broken to this day. Terado knew she'd be waiting for him. Someday, he'd slip up, someone stronger would come along. His duty would be done. But for now... He smiled at Lavender, "It was a good experience. I got to travel the world time and again. I've learnt nearly every script and language, met and known so many wonderful people. I wouldn't have traded it for anything." The sun was up now and Terado then smiled, an idea had come to mind. "Come with me. I'll show you a place that almost no one knows about." He began to jog off slowly, his playful side kicking in. It was odd for him to be so relaxed, but he didn't mind. |

"It was a good experience. I got to travel the world time and again. I've learnt nearly every script and language, met and known so many wonderful people. I wouldn't have traded it for anything." Terado replied, smiling. Lavender nodded sagely at Terado's reply. "The world's a big place, and I suppose there's no limit to what you can learn from it," Lavender mused. After all, things are always changing, and part of the challenge - she guessed - would be keeping abreast with the changes that have taken place over the centuries. By now, it was clearly morning, with the sun shining brightly in the sky, an Lavender wondered what was running through Terado's mind as the Sentinel smiled. "Come with me. I'll show you a place that almost no one knows about." Terado spoke as he broke into a slow job. "Oh? Now that'd be interesting," Lavender commented as she picked up her bag and slung it over her left shoulder, jogging after Terado. |

Terado lead Aisia through the open farming fields, not high with wheat. He looked back from time to time, making sure she was still behind him as he had picked up his pace slightly. However, the jog was not too long. Terado soon spotted what he was looking for. A large orchard was just ahead, specializing in growing apples. Terado began to walk again as he became caught under the shadow of the trees' canopy. It should be around here somewhere. That was when he spotted it. Lavender was still a few meters behind him, so he wanted to try stay ahead of her, to keep her guessing and to make this game more interesting. There was a particularily large group of apple trees, with very dark wood, near the edge of the orchard's treeline. Terado when to a certain one of them and knocked on it three times, before kicking one of its roots. Suddenly a large hole in the earth revealed itself. Terado smiled. It was still in tact. "Hurry up, or else it will close." he said with a grin, before jumping inside it and sliding into the dark depths and out of sight. |

Lavender followed closely behind Terado as the two of them made their way through an open farm - the wheat stalks having grown, although it would not be until Autumn before they are ripe for harvest. The green stalks swayed in the breeze as Lavender continued to jog behind Terado at a leisurely pace, and before long an apple orchard loomed into view. The shade offered by the canopy of trees was certainly comfortable as it sheltered them from the rays of the morning sun. Lavender's head cocked slightly to the right as Terado came to a stop at a group of apple trees - these were older than the rest of the trees in the orchard, given their size and their darker toned bark. Lavender stopped briefly to retrieve her water flask and take a sip of water, just as Terado walked up to one of the trees and knocked on it three times, before kicking it in the roots. "Wha-!?" Lavender did a spittake as a big hole suddenly opened up in the ground, coughing the remaining water up from her throat. "Hurry up, or else it will close." Terado turned towards Lavender with a grin on his face as the purple-haired Esper wiped her face with the edge of her towel. "Oh, all right!" Lavender replied as she jumped into the hole right after Terado. |

There was a long winding slide that would propel Lavender down a dark series of twists and turns. It wasn't all that cramped. Soon the sunlight would fade as the hole closed up. But as Lavender descended, she'd hear a thump at the end of the tunnel. Soon after, she would see a dim green light was entering the shaft. Pretty soon, she'd shoot out and land into a set of muscular arms. Terado's of course. What she would see was an underground spring, with a large pool that wa coloured in shades of green. The light was coming from strange looking mushroom that was scattered around the underground lake. Terado placed Lavender down gently. "They're called Eshrooms. This place was once considered a magical epicentre. But I looked into it more and actually, this place is a natural condensation of E energy. Everything that's alive has some E potential. The trees here produce the best apples. They have some kind of E potential I guess, and the residue seeps down here." He slowly removed his cloak, letting slide to the ground. "Besides, you said you didn't like being sweaty, here you can freshen up." |

"Whoah!" No sooner had Lavender jumped into the hole did she realize that she was sliding downwards, the light from the surface disappearing as she made her way down the winding slide - apparently this subterranean realm is larger than she originally thought it would be. Lavender heard a thump ahead of her as Terado hit the bottom first, followed by the sight of a curious green glow below. As Lavender completed her sliding descent, she would find herself landing in Terado's muscular arms, the Sentinel being ready to catch her. "Thank you," Lavender replied as Terado set her down gently. "Wow..." Lavender gasped in awe as she surveyed her surroundings - before her was an underground spring, the source illumination apparently came from clumps of mushrooms that grew around the lake. "They're called Eshrooms. This place was once considered a magical epicentre. But I looked into it more and actually, this place is a natural condensation of E energy. Everything that's alive has some E potential. The trees here produce the best apples. They have some kind of E potential I guess, and the residue seeps down here," Terado explained as Lavender walked over to a nearby patch of Eshrooms to better examine the curiously luminescent fungi - she felt sorely tempted to bring back a sample of it to the OASIS complex so that the researchers at ALPHA Labs could conduct a detailed analysis. "Besides, you said you didn't like being sweaty, here you can freshen up." Terado continued as he slowly removed his cloak, letting it slide off his shoulders and onto the ground. "Beautiful..." Lavender replied as she set her bag down, next to a nearby rock before bending down on one knee to examine the glowing mushrooms. The cave was pleasantly cool, evoking a generally pleasant feeling in the amethyst-haired Esper. |

Terado smiled. He knew that she'd like it. From what he knew about her, she seemed interested in E energy, not just for OASIS, but also for her own interest from the looks of things. Terado hadn't hidden a totem here and the place wasn't really of any speacial signifigance. In all honesty he had discovered it by accident while practicing his shaolin exercises. So, perhaps he'd make her day worth while. "You know, there's nothing wrong with you taking some of those eshrooms. They're not related to any of my endevours, so I see no harm in letting you take some." Terado slipped off his shoes and slowly went into the water. The relfections from ripples cast series of light green lines along his body as he entered the water. He went in slowly, getting in to where his shoulder were almost submerged, before he took a breath and dissappeared into the water completely. It was pretty deep the here and so Terado swan down and enjoyed the feeling of weightlessness. He looked around him, seeing a few of the rocks underneath there giving off a glow. They were actually more like green crystals. He then turned himself over and gradually floated to the suface. He floated there, looking at the ceiling for a moment, before getting up and treading water. "Is the OASIS foundation a good place to work? I actually don't know much about work myself and am interested to know." |
