The world used to be so much more simple. One village kept to itself and that was that. An odd group of nomads would come through occasionally and peddle their wares. A blacksmiths daughter would fall madly in love with a travelling acrobat and they'd settle down and then later discoverd him rolling around in the hay with her sister. Simple matters. You ate, you worked, you slept and your lived. Terado missed those days so much. Now with the earth being the way it is, with a global economy and constant developments going up all over the place, where towns became cities in little under 5 years, it was a cause for concern, if anything should happen to property that wasn't actually built upon. Terado had a need to check on one of his old homes here in Nova Oasis. He had been away from the house for over thirty years. He had however, made sure it was taken care of. He had left it in the charge of butlers and maids from long ago, saying they could use it as there own home, but making sure nothing happened to it. He was certain nothing corrupted had entered their minds regarding it. He had placed a blood-spell on them both, binding them to their duty till her saw otherwise fit to release them. He may be charged with protecting humans, but in return, a few were required to ensure his own protection. This was one of the few visible houses he had, the rest were merely hidden bunkers. The villagers here, living their peaceful lives, only knew rumours and horror stories of the manision at the foot of Prometheus peak. About how the owner had built it then mysteriously left. So there was naturally a lot of commotion when a small boy started saying that the night before, a cloaked man had entered the mansion. Some thought he was fibbing, others were concerned for the servants safety, some simply wanted to ignore it and hope that nothing happened. As Terado looked out from the third story window of the mansion, he couldn't help but sigh. Sometimes, he really wondered whether they were worth protecting anymore. They were so easily consumed by fear. But then again, that was the reason to protect them, as they had no real defenses themselves, at least when it came to dealing with Others. |

There was one more person going up the volcano... but not necessarily for the mansion. Aisia Asakura wasn't here to look into rumors of a cloaked man going into a mansion, nor did she even know there was one to begin with. She was here because, well, she figured that going to the highest place on the island could give her a good bearing as to where to start looking. As to what she was looking for, it was quite simple. In the palm of her hand was a small model spaceship-like thing, a Skygrasper. In this case though, it wasn't attached to anything yet; it was just by itself, and it was warm in her hands. It got warmer though with each step up the dormant volcano. "I think it's nearby..." she murmured to herself. She would go a few steps up the slope, close her eyes as if to get her bearings right, and then open them again to resume walking. She sincerely hoped she wouldn't have to actually get some rock climbing gear for this, but all things considered, these things weren't so easy. She would definitely need help from the locals. Unfortunately, said locals seemed reluctant to help her with regards to going up the mountain. They seemed to prefer leaving what was up there in the mountain well enough alone, leaving Aisia to walk up there herself and see what she was dealing with. She didn't really understand it, but respected the locals' wish to not go up. If she had to go up... she would have to do so alone. Or maybe not alone. Maybe Haken could help her. Or... maybe the owner of the mansion that she just happened to come across. She blinked at the relatively large house, awed for a moment at its rustic charm before deciding to actually get the courage to ask someone there for help. "It looks pretty old though... I wonder if someone still-" That's when she saw him. On the third story window, a lone man looked out at the scenery below, as if sad. "Excuse me!" Aisia called out to him. "I was wondering if you could help me out for a second!" |

"Hmm?' Terado heard a little voice busy calling out to him from the gate of the mansion. It wasn't too far, but with him being so high up, Aisia sounded less loud than she actually was. Now that he was actually tuned into what she was saying, he raised an eyebrow curiously. She needed help? With what exactly? He dissappeared from the window, knockin one five different points of a wooden panel to reveal an old lift. Stepping inside, Terado began to lower himself down while the wall panel covered itself back up. When he got to the ground floor, he repeated the knocks and another panel opened up nearby the front door. Stepping out and closing the wall behind him, he stepped out into the garden and towards the gate. He was no longer dressed in his tribal garments and cloak, but instead a loose grey shirt, which hid kaneryuu that was strapped to his back, a pair of jeans and some black boots. Opening the gate, Terado stood in front of Aisia. "What is it that you need exactly?" She was the first visitor that he'd recieved and he hadn't had planned on recieving any. From what he could gather, purely on past and current information, she wasn't from the village. The villaged avoid this place like the plague. |

Aisia waited anxiously as the man suddenly took note of her, disappeared for a moment, then reappeared at the front door before making his way to the gate and opening it. She gasped at his appearance though... mostly because he reminded her of someone else.
She shook off the feeling for a moment. "No... I can't allow myself to worry about that right now," she mumbled to herself before Terado addressed her. "What is it that you need exactly?" he asked rather gruffly. She figured he had a good reason to be concerned; after all, if the villagers didn't go up here on their own, who the hell else does? "Good morning, sir. My name is Aisia Asakura. I... wasn't expecting to see a mansion here. Anyway, I'm here because I'm in search of something important; something tells me that it's up here. I asked the villagers below if they could help, but they seem oddly reluctant to do so. I don't suppose you can at least tell me about the layout of this volcano, can you?" She really hoped it was up here, and that nobody else had found it yet. If someone else went up here to look for it, this man would probably know about it.

"Well Miss Ashakura. I'm sure you're well aware this volcano isn't hazardous, otherwise my mansion would have been swept away years ago. The rocks are generally stable and pathways have been made by the OASIS Founation, yet there are yet undeveloped parts of the area where people can slip up." Why did she need to know the layout? Surely she wasn't considering going up into the ruins? Naturally Terado knew about those, it was half the reason why he built the mansion here in the first place. He needed something to keep people down the mountain so that everything inside there remained untouched. Hell, even he didn't know what was up there. But this girl...was she wanting to go up there? Terado raised a curious eyebrow, masking his concern, "What could a girl like you possibly want up on top of a volcano?" She seemed, as if she was going to climb it regardless of what Terado told her. He couldn't let her wander about willy-nilly either. If she accidentally stumbled onto the ruins, it could be problematic... |

"Huh... so the area is more or less already stable. I can probably just hike to the top without using much climbing gear then," Aisia mused to herself when Terado talked about the landscape's general layout. Well, that at least made looking for the thing easier. Unfortunately, it also meant that someone else might be able to easily stumble on it, though given that not many people go up and down these slopes apparently save for maybe this man, then she stood a better chance of finding it first. After all, the signal was still strong, and it didn't seem to grow weaker or stronger in the time she was here talking to him, an indication that her target was on the move. "What could a girl like you possibly want up on top of a volcano?" he asked with a raised eyebrow. Well, Aisia couldn't really tell him that she was "looking for a Skygrasper unit", since that would require a lot more explaining than needed, not to mention she'd have to explain what the hell a Skygrasper was, even if she was already holding it in her hands at the moment. So she decided to go for the truthful, if vague noncommittal response. "It's something important, something that mustn't fall in the wrong hands. It's also something that I promised I would come back with, no matter what." Then she shifted back to her usual smile. "That and I figured that since I'm kind of new to the island, I'd take a good look at the place from the highest point of the island. I hear you can see everything as far as the eye can see from the top," she chuckled. "Well, at least it would be nice if I could get a good view, anyway. I just wish my friend wasn't so out of it right now, it would be nice to have a companion on the way up..." |

Terado took on a somewhat surprised, but respectful look at Aisia's intial reaction. She didn't seem like someone who would steal something from anyone and he couln't sense or smell any under-handed fear being released from her when she said it. She was a girl on a mission. Terado was concerend though. Was she after the totem he had hidden there? No, that was impossible. No one could possibly know about that. The totem was sealed too far away for it to possess anyone. However, Terado couldn't chance it. If it was the totem, she certainly was right that it couldn't fall into the wrong hands. Terado smiled at her, when she mentioned wanting a travelling companion and wanting to see a view of the whole island. "Well, I could show you. I do know my way around these mountains," even if it had been a few decades since he'd last been here, "and it just so happens I know the best spot to see the perfect view of the island you were discussing." Terado extended his hand to Aisia, a sign of sealing a deal to work together on this, "I'll help you if you show me where to go. Partners?" That and he could also keep her away from the ruins should it come to that. |

"Well, I could show you. I do know my way around these mountains, and it just so happens I know the best spot to see the perfect view of the island you were discussing," Terado said. "Really? That would be most helpful!" Aisia cheerily said. With that, the man extended a hand to her for a handshake. "I'll help you if you show me where to go. Partners?" Aisia eagerly nodded. "Mhmm! Thank you so much!" Now came the hard part though; how to find it. It was made so much easier at this point with the fact that she now had a guide, but even such a partnership was relatively fragile at this point. She would just have to trust him for this one, and hopefully, he wasn't going ask what the item was for. "Well, the item in question is a small electronic device. It's not really dangerous by itself, but if someone were to tinker with it, it could prove dangerous. Not to mention... it's not something that belongs here." With that, she pulled out her single Skygrasper for him to see. "This thing is called a Skygrasper. It was something a friend of mine made when he offered to help me..." she said solemnly, quietly remembering Shiki as she did. She only hoped to God that he was still okay, and the sooner she got this done, the better. "And it was my fault that I got these items lost in the first place. That's why I promised him and my friends back home that I would come back with them, no matter what. Anyway, this'll help us find what I seek." She pointed the Skygrasper up the mountain where the signal got stronger. "It's definitely that way. Just let me know when you're ready, mister..." Aisia paused, realizing that the man didn't give his name to her yet and she had no idea what to call him. |

Terado listned as Aisia explained what the Skygrasper was and why she needed to find it so desperatly. He was relieved himself in a way. She had mentioned that it was some kind of electrical device, so that meant it couldn't have possibly been a totem. That being the case, Terado's expression visibly relaxed. "You need to find something that tiny? It looks like a toy plane. Is it really that important?" Terado couldn't believe it himself actually. However, if that was the case then he had no problem helping Aisia out with her little dilema and when she pointed to where the signal was strongest, Terado was ready to go in an instant. Scooping Aisia up into his arms, he began to run headlong towards where she had indicated, jumping up onto boulders and clearing distances in high, single bounds of speed-jumps. As they began travelling, with a probably much flustered Aisia in tow, Terado said his name, a fake one, but a reference point none the less. "My name is Bolo. Please tell me if I'm going off course." Needless to say at the sudden take-off Aisia had recieved she was probably either havng a very good thrill ride or was hyper-ventalating from the surprise and trying to catch her breath. |

WHOOSH. "WAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!" Surprise was one of the words used to describe her current predicament. Terror and "ohgodhesgoingtokidnapmeisnthe" were also part of the vocabulary that was running through her head as they skirted through up the mountain at surprising and superhuman speeds. The man leapt over boulders and chasms and whatnot as if they were nothing to him; it was truly a strange thing to see. A Skygrasper in one hand and a loli in the other, savin' the day. Well, maybe that's not the most accurate description of their status, but it worked for this case. "My name is Bolo. Please tell me if I'm going off course," he said even as he ran with her in his arms. Christ, this guy must be strong as hell! I can't even pick up a Hyper Bazooka and run this far without sweating, let alone while talking! she thought as she stayed stock still in his arms. "B-Bolo, please don't go so fast! The Skygrasper can't pick up the signal accurately if we're moving this fast!" That said, she felt a slight tug on the Skygrasper as it seemed to pull her towards somewhere. "To the left! And please, slower this time!" she whimpered. What Bolo would probably notice though, should they go at a slower pace and allow her to get her bearings, was that the Skygrasper was pulling them towards a particularly bad place for him. The Ruins. Why the Skygrasper was pulling them there, Aisia certainly didn't know, and to be fair, she didn't even know where they were going. All she knew was that the it was pulling them towards the Ruins because the missing Striker Pack attatchment to said device was there; the Aile Pack. |

Terado had to supress a grin. He hadn't done something like this since he babysat his younger cousins and even then, they pretty much screamed the same way. It was quite clear right now that Terado was giving his muscles a really good workout. This was really nothing for him, although he was most likely unaware that Aisia would be feeling either his buldging bicep or pectoral chest muscles against her back from time to time as he moved. When she requested for him to slow down and turn to the left, Terado nodded, "Alright, but just hang on for one last thing." (I LOST MY LEG!) There was a chasm coming up into front of them, with a large boulder jutting upwards slightly. Terado went for it with an excited glint in his eye, even though he was remained quite calm. As he took his first step onto the boulder, he said to Aisia, "Don't worry, I'll catch you." With that he gave the girl the old heave-ho and tossed her up into the sky, but her angle was to go up over the chasm. With his final few steps, Terado accelerated and jumped up in a great leap, as if he had springs in his ankles, moving up and catching Aisia in midair, holding her in his arms again, before coming down and landing with a loud WHUMP. Terado then flashed a big friendly smile, on that could only have appeared from adrenalin and excitement. "Alright, I'll go slower from now on." Terado now moved at a slower jog now, as per request, following where the skygrapser was pointing. Much to his dismay however, he knew exactly where this path lead. Directly to ruins. Could things get any worse? He sure hoped not... |

Aisia took a minute to look at Bolo's face as they dashed through the mountains. He wasn't really grinning as he kept going and apparently ignored Aisia's request, but she had the distinct feeling that he was enjoying himself way too much with this. "You-you're enjoying this, aren't you..." Aisia whimpered as she curled up in his arms, but then what he said next made her almost want to flail away from him. "Don't worry, I'll catch you." "Catch me? What do you meaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" No sooner had the question come out of her mouth did Bolo toss her into the air like some beach ball (though to be fair, the proper analogy would probably be a sack of potatoes) and she found herself flying above a chasm. She kept screaming even as Bolo caught her again in mid-air and they landed safely on the other side with a loud WHUMP... and then she groaned. She was pretty much out of it for a good few seconds, even reaching the point to where she dropped the Skygrasper. Thankfully, it was self-aware enough to fly on its own and start flitting around the pair before hovering and pointing towards the ruins. It then slowly started to hover its way there. "I... I guess it's over there, Bolo..." Aisia managed to say when she regained her bearings. "Please don't do that again..." she moaned before slumping into his arms like a baby in its cradle. |

Terado had enjoyed that little run back there. It had warmed his body up quite nicely. As he followed the skygrasper, he looked down at Aisia who curled up into a ball in his arms. She really did look a lot like Yumi. Maybe somewhere down the line, her genes might have been recieved. By humans. At any rate the skygrasper was getting close to the ruins, so Terado slowed his pace down to a walk. "You know Aisia, when I was your age," and boy howdy was that a long time ago, "I used to do this all the time. You're still young. Get out, exercise, see the world. Get as much air into those young muscles of yours so you can grow big and strong." Needless to say the women back then had 'boobs of steel' as the term was. Terado walked up the stone pathway, making sure Aisia was safe in his arms. "Tell me Aisia. You're not from a group called the Marauders or OASIS, are you? I've been hearing a lot about them in the news lately." Terado actually wanted to get to know more about this girl, so he knew exactly what to do when the time comes. She seemed honest and harmless enough, but his life had been filled with things being more than they seemed. |

Aisia winced a little at the "You're still young" part, mostly because she knew that for all intents and purposes, that's probably going to stay that way. A girl whose time was lost because the only thing that remembered her from her home dimension was the world itself; the memories of those who met her there were as fleeting as sand in one's hand. She would never age, and she would never be remembered by mortal beings whom that dimension recognized as its own. That's what she was. Nobody could remember her because she wished it so; she wished it so to save her friends. It was a high and bitter price to pay for messing with magic... but it was a price she was prepared to pay for nonetheless. Somehow, people from other dimensions would still remember her, that much she knew. But when she just tossed them to another dimension to save their lives... she had to wonder if they still did, especially her important person. "Tell me Aisia. You're not from a group called the Marauders or OASIS, are you? I've been hearing a lot about them in the news lately," Bolo asked her as they made their way up the weathered stone pathway towards the ruins. "Neither. I don't even know who they are," she answered. She curled herself up a little more in his arms, almost as if relishing being carried gently in this manner. However, in her mind, it wasn't Bolo's muscular and sinewy arms that carried her, but rather, the slim and tender arms of her lover, Ayane. And she missed her dearly, and she wished for the strength that she might need from her right now. As bad as her first meetings with people sometimes went, she knew that she would have to learn to trust even perfect strangers somehow and learn to see if they meant well or were using her for their own ends. And that meant getting the strength to tell the truth, and the strength to fight those who might betray her for such truths. "Would you believe me if I said that I'm not even of this world?" She paused for a moment as if to let that sink in, then continued. "The item I seek here doesn't belong in this plane of existence. Hell, it didn't even belong to its previous plane of existence. And I need to find them... I'm not sure, but, if I just let them be found by others who might misuse them, then this dimension might be endangered. That is why I absolutely must find it and the others as soon as possible." |

Terado felt Aisia tense for a moment. He didn't know why, but perhaps he had said something that touched a nerve. He looked down at her as he walked, wondering who this girl really was. He was relieved to hear that she wasn't from any organisation, but when she said she was from neither, he got a feeling that she had left the sentence unfinished, as if there was to be something more to it. However, he didn't enqire. Of all people, it wasn't his place to ask questions he himself wouldn't want answered. When she spoke again, telling him of how her and the skygrasper and the item being searched for, were not of this world, Terado was a bit surprised, but not that much. In his lifetime he had been to the world a spirits, a dimension on its own. And he had even briefly riden along the river Styx and seen the shores of Hades. Other worlds and dimensions were not new, but he couldn't believe this girl, of all people was from one of them. "I believe you, I really do. And more to the point, I can understand your will to find this item and protect it. I used to be like that as well. I've spent a good couple of years, " more like centuries, "hiding certain things away from the world so that they would be safe." An unknown history seemed to just eminate from Terado at that moment, perhaps giving off the idea that he like Aisia was eternal, but that was purely speculation at best even for her eyes. He looked down at her, "I feel that we have a similar duty, even if we from different worlds. My whole life, has been to balance and protect this world." |
