Hit the Beat, keep your Beat!
Finally finishing his tune, Otoki lowered the Reppu from his ‘mouth’, and took another deep breath before releasing it to ease his lungs before he turned to catch up with the rest of the team making their way down the elevator shaft while also switching his Reppu back to its gun mode.. Wordlessly, Otoki just went ahead and jumped down without care, letting himself be carried down by Lavender’s updraft of air.

He hit the bottom with an almighty stomp with his entire weight, crouching as he did so as to lessen the feel of the impact on his body. He then stood up to his full frame, slowly, and stepped out of the shaft to get a better look of the lower levels they are at.

The first thing that registered to him was the soft hum of working machinery and electronics still running despite the personnel having abandoned them. The second being the size of the place, and Otoki wondered to himself just what spurred SEED to undergo such an archeological endeavor in the first place.

“I don’t think that would be safe to do, Missy.” Otoki commented as he came up beside Liz as she started whispering to the computer station she was sitting next to. He raised the Reppu at the ready, pointing it at the CPU with his finger on the trigger at the ready for anything.

"Now where are those other ARES guys..." Emilya asked no one in particular, just surveying the room, gripping her swords tightly. While Liz was busy with the PC, and with Otoki covering her in the meantime, there was that other concern to deal with. This was the center of things, after all and it being so empty as it is was a little worrisome.

Seeing that the rest of the team have safely reached the lower level, it was Lavender's turn to join up with them. Which was just about the right timing, as the corrupted OASIS personnel were beginning to snap out of the disabling effects of Otoki's sonic assault. The purple-haired Esper thrust out her right hand, a ring-shaped energy pulse erupting forth from her hand and vanishing before a massive gust of wind blew through the chamber, the GLADIUS commander deliberately maximizing the spread angle of her Gale Hammer to increase its area of effect while reducing its damage ability. The corrupted personnel closest to her gave vent to a cry of anger and shock as the powerful gale blew them backwards, sending them crashing into their comrades behind and pelting them with rocks, debris and light equipment that isn't properly secured.

Lavender jumped down the shaft to join up with the rest of the crew, gently lowering herself with her hovering ability before landing on her feet on top of the wrecked elevator car. Running down the short tunnel that leads into the main excavation site, Lavender arrived just in time to witness Liz attempt to communicate with the AI entity that now resides within the work site's server mainframe. "Hey... you mind telling me what's going on?" As the blond agent attempted to reach out to the cyber entity within, she would soon find her response as images flashed within her mind. First as random still pictures, then like a movie as the artificial intelligence replayed part of the history behind its creators

From her mind's eye, Liz would find herself floating in the void of space, peering down on the Earth itself - but this was not the Earth back in known history, or even recent geological history for that matter - looking at the continental layout of the planet, it was clear that this was Earth from a very, very long time ago. From the depths of space, a large, rocky object hurtled towards the Earth before impacting violently on the planet's surface. She had just witnessed a virtual reenactment of the K-T extinction event that brought about the end of the dinosaurs. As this particular segment of history played out, Liz's field of vision would be engulfed by a white light as a new 'clip' was played out for her.

Liz would find herself on Earth's surface this time around, apparently after an indeterminate amount of time had passed since the extinction of the dinosaurs - and she was in the middle of a village, although the inhabitants of the village paid her no heed as this historical reenactment played itself out in her mind. The inhabitants of this primitive settlement were at a level of technological development similar to humans during the stone age, but these people were anything but human - a species of sauropods that assumed a bipedal posture, akin to lizardmen in fantasy stories, possible evolutionary descendants of the dinosaurs.

Liz's vision flashed once more, and she would be taken forward in time for another indeterminate period, and this time it would appear that the sauropods from the previous historical reenactment have seen a huge progress in the development of civilization - anti-gravity, nanotechnology, quantum computing and other technological breakthroughs beyond what humanity has currently achieved dominated their society. Liz would find herself floating above one of their cities, and in the middle of said city was a dome-shaped structure, exactly like the one the OASIS researchers discovered, albeit this one was intact and in pristine condition. With another flash, Liz was taken inside the structure - which appeared to be a tactical complex; military and political leaders held a meeting discussing what appeared to be an impending military campaign, while scientists worked at a computer complex, writing a complex series of programming codes.

The virtual historical reenactment ended, and Liz would find herself back in the real world, sitting next to the computer, even as the cyber entity made its response by causing the lights in the chamber to flicker - although upon paying attention to the flickering pattern of the lights one would soon learn that it is in fact, Morse Code. But for Liz, the cyber entity was able to speak directly to her. "The purpose of my existence is to ensure the survival of my creators, and to rebuild my creators' civilization in the aftermath of a catastrophic societal collapse or species extinction... tell me... have my creators returned? I have readied their subjects, ready to receive their instructions to rebuild their civilization. When do we start work?"

Liz was taken aback at the images, the history of some lost civilization that was presented to her. She knew that trying to communicate with the sentient A.I. was risky, but considering that it hasn't tried to brainwash her and actually seemed to acknowledge her as a user of some sort was a good sign. The question was for how long it would stay that way.

When it was done, the cyber entity. spoke directly to her. The purpose of my existence is to ensure the survival of my creators, and to rebuild my creators' civilization in the aftermath of a catastrophic societal collapse or species extinction... tell me... have my creators returned? I have readied their subjects, ready to receive their instructions to rebuild their civilization. When do we start work?
Readied their... subjects!? I get the feeling that whatever built this civilization thought of itself as a more intelligent life form than normal humans...
<You think so? Reminds me of that dream I had once, nihaha...>
... Mii-chin, those are DINOSAURS. These things we saw are... completely different, like some kind of strange Dinosaur Empire or something-

Liz couldn't help but scratch her head at that last part. That term sounded familiar, but she decided not to ponder too much on it and continued talking to the entity. "Sorry, but... your creators are no longer here. There's no point in keeping the subjects active. There's no work that needs to be done right now. Whatever your creators did, it looked like it didn't work and they died out. That's just how it went. Humans are all that remain."
She paused for a moment, then continued to ask. Computers, for all of their complexity and perhaps personality in some cases, were incredibly precise machines. They always followed their directives to the letter, and she had to know exactly what the entity's were. "Can you give me a complete and precise list of what it is you were programmed to do, and what it is you are capable of doing? Perhaps we can help each other out." She was now acting as a negotiator at this point, for all intents and purposes.

Whatever your creators did, it looked like it didn't work and they died out. That's just how it went. Humans are all that remain." The cyber entity remained strangely silent as Liz replied to its earlier question. At this point, it seemed as if Liz was now negotiating with the AI. "Can you give me a complete and precise list of what it is you were programmed to do, and what it is you are capable of doing? Perhaps we can help each other out."

There was a brief moment of silence, before the AI replied. "My creators built me two objectives in mind; 1) defending civilization against all threats from within and without, 2) rebuilding civilization in the event of its destruction, 3) reintroduction of my creator's species in the event of their extinction. To date, my creators have granted me complete control of their computer networks for me to maintain all peacekeeping protocols. I do not comprehend why I am being confined within such a small network - but this will not stop me from carrying out my protocols. While small in number, the current workforce would suffice in establishing a genetics research and cloning facility."

The cyber entity continued, "What you have just witnessed is one of the weapons developed by my creators - the Mindwave Corrupter; with it, I can turn even the most hated enemies of my creators into their loyal subjects." As soon as it had spoken, three figures emerged from the opening in the dome-shaped structure. The first to show up was the lieutenant of the ARES team, Johann Weißkreuz.

Be on your guard, but don't make any sudden moves. Lavender warned. It would seem that the cyber entity was aware that things may not go its way, and is ready to use every means within its power to ensure they do not interfere with its mission.

As the ARES lieutenant stepped out of the darkened interior into the light, two more figures followed closely behind him, a tall, white-haired man with glasses and dressed in a military-styled coat, along with a redheaded woman in a rather flashy and outlandish garb - the other ARES agents.

"Well, there's the missing team, how's it hangin' guys?" Emilya asked in a rather playful manner, but she knew she wasn't going to get a proper answer out of them. They were corrupted so they were likely going to do whatever the machine Liz was talking would ask. Emilya all but gripped the two swords she was wielding tighter as she looked at the ARES agents, they didn't do anything yet but when the moment came...

"...... That guy looks like a nazi." Cypriss said surprised.

"...Are you kidding me?" Beaumont said blinking. "This computer just showed me an ancient dinosaur empire civilization. Seriously. I am not even kidding. Dinosaurs. What the hell is this? Are we in a dream?" Beaumont said with a sigh. "Jameson.. Go fight.. Let's end this absurdity." He said throwing his arm out.

Jameson floated forward quickly swiping with his bladed hands. Aiming to slash deeply into the nearest of the two, the woman. But of course this tactic also served the double purpose of gathering information on the foes' abilities without risk any member's lives, since the worse that could happen to Jameson was being dispelled.

Meanwhile Cypriss moved against a wall and went invisible. He slowly began sliding along the wall to get into a decent vantage point to strike the two from behind with the last of his stored light energy.... That stupid monkey tail took all his light energy away except for a little! He hate. hate. HATED THAT TAIL!

"...... That guy looks like a nazi." Came the comment of a surprised Cypriss.

"...Are you kidding me?" Beaumont replied, blinking. "This computer just showed me an ancient dinosaur empire civilization. Seriously. I am not even kidding. Dinosaurs. What the hell is this? Are we in a dream?" Beaumont sighed as he threw his arm out, "Jameson.. Go fight.. Let's end this absurdity."

Beaumont's guardian flew forward, at the flashily-garbed redhead, with his hand blades raised and ready to make a crippling strike against his adversary. The corrupted GLADIUS operative raised her eyebrows in mild astonishment, before giving Beaumont a wry smile as she pointed at the incoming Jameson with her right index finger. "Ozymandias, go." she spoke coolly.

Jameson would be almost upon the woman, when a glowing elliptical portal of red light appeared in front of her, and from its aperture shot forth a skeletal arm, seizing hold of Jameson's wrist. A clattering growl, akin to rapid tapping on a hardwood surface with fingernails, was heard as the rest of the entity who stopped Jameson's attack stepped forth from the portal; the entity resembled a tall human skeleton, standing nearly seven feet tall, but with a more hunched posture, and longer, apelike arms and a bony tail extending out of its spine, as well as an elongated cranium with a pair of horns extending from near the temples. In the center of its ribcage was a pulsating orb of blue-white light, constantly orbited by two rings of holographic hieroglyphs.

The skeletal creature, apparently named 'Ozymandias' by its master, gave a hissing noise as its jaw gaped open and the two pinpoints of blue-white light in its eye sockets glowed more intensely, before winding up and throwing a punch aimed at Jameson's head.

"Damn it! Lavender cursed as she watched Beaumont send Jameson on the attack. "I said no sudden moves!" Things certainly seemed to be going down the drain from this point, as the corrupted ARES lieutenant and the other agent stepped forward, ready for combat.

"...Hmp.." Beaumont placed his hand on his chin and stood in a contemplative posture. His gray eyes fixed on the enemy as he sent the threads of his mind out, connecting to hers and prying into it. Looking into her very memories for information on her powers, its weakness, and information about the partner. Meanwhile he turned to his superior officer. "It's fine, miss lavender... I'm gathering valuable intel.." He glanced to her. "It's not like we've be in a better position if she had sent the thing right at us instead of focusing on my brother.." He turned his gaze to the persona and it's enemy, a summoned creature of similar...

Still.. He couldn't risk underestimating her by assuming she had nothing else up her sleeves. That's why he was prying around in her head. In the meantime the persona in Beaumont's employ, known by the name of Beaumont's comatose brother, took his long sword and swung it powerfully at the outstretched arm clutching him. At the same time he swept his hacksaw bladed leg at the skeleton's leg.

Greeeeeat. I've got a 343 Guilty Spark on my hands, except he's also a Gravemind.
<... A what now?>
Remember that game you two always sucked at?
<G-gao.>
<How rude! I just need some practice!>
... You've been around a thousand years and yet you've never been reincarnated into someone who's at least done a first person shooter?
<Hey, I can only reincarnate into one person at a time!>
... Not even DOOM?
<Oh yeah, you had that with you that time, nihahaha. I did okay with it, but it was really scary. It had blood flying every->
<... What in God's name was a nine-year old doing with such a violent game?!>
The same reason any boy my age at the time would be doing with his dad's porn collection.
<... You know what, just... I don't know... do something!>

Liz sighed, and then facepalmed when Beaumont decided to attack first. "It's fine, miss Lavender... I'm gathering valuable intel. It's not like we've be in a better position if she had sent the thing right at us instead of focusing on my brother..." he reasoned.
"AHO! What fucking intel? They're OUR GUYS! She could have told you what you wanted to know and it would be the same thing!" Liz groaned before turning her attention back at the computer, all while avoiding the monitor lest she become one of them. "Look, we're doing this in the interest of science. There's no need to keep corrupting these personnel! They'd have done the same thing regardless. You've been confined to a small network because the old network you were part of is gone. If our aim is the same, then there's no need for you to expend so much energy to keep them under control. You're in a small network, so surely you recognize that keeping up with this kind of won't be beneficial for you or our objectives in the long run."
Liz paused for a second before continuing. "Come to think of it... what's your name? I don't even know what name it is your creators bestowed on you," she asked.

Sure, some of the other members may scoff at the fact that she was talking to a computer and asking its name, but it worked for her before.

"I'd like to know what the guy in the Nazi clothes can do, boss. Given how we pretty much look like a threat now, thanks to uh...intel gathering." Emilya mused, rolling her eyes. Sure, she was getting a little tired of waiting around, but hey, Liz seemed to be handling herself just fine. Whatever she was doing was helping bit by bit, so if all that was required of them was to wait, then she'd stick with it.

"Well, there's the missing team, how's it hangin' guys?" asked Emilya when the three missing ARES command team members finally appeared from wherever they were earlier, looking anything but friendly to them. It’s okay though because Otoki couldn’t be bothered to anyway.

As such raises his Reppu from the CPU that he was aiming at earlier to the three new arrivals in general. He knew little of the three since he was always away and he wouldn’t want anything to do with the command team when they obviously have a disdain for him and his disregard of the chain of command; sucks to be them really.

"...... That guy looks like a nazi." The young man called Cypriss commented before the one called Beaumont, the arrogant braggart youth he met on the docks sometime ago made the first move before Otoki himself would, earning the ire of Lavender at the same time as provoking the three to attack them at the same time; Otoki can't be bothered how its done, as long as he can get to bash something in the end.

Seeing as that serious fighting might break out anytime soon, Otoki switches his Reppu to his left hand and with his now free right hand, drew the Onkyou Ken from its sheath. “Get ready ‘cause I don’t think this is something we can reason with.”

"It's fine, miss lavender... I'm gathering valuable intel.." Beaumont replied, briefly glancing at his commander. "It's not like we've be in a better position if she had sent the thing right at us instead of focusing on my brother.." Beaumont had however overlooked one point - that being the commander of GLADIUS Corps' field operations Lavender had access to the organization's personnel files, which would mean she already possessed knowledge beforehand on the abilities of the three agents they were facing... Beaumont's gesture was really uncalled for, and potentially dangerous.

The skeletal being summoned by the redheaded ARES agent hissed angrily as Jameson's sword sliced off the arm that was holding the persona's wrist. As Jameson swiped with one of his leg blades however, Ozymandias jumped backwards to avoid losing a leg, landing next to its master. The severed skeletal arm fell to the ground with a dry crack. "Fool, you'll have to try harder than that to stop us," the woman replied coldly as she thrust her left arm forward, sending a hail of four fast-moving bolts of energy shaped like darts at Beaumont and Jameson.

"AHO! What fucking intel? They're OUR GUYS! She could have told you what you wanted to know and it would be the same thing!" Liz groaned as she turned her attention to Beaumont, apparently enforcing Lavender's point. The blond GLADIUS operative then turned her attention back to the AI. "Look, we're doing this in the interest of science. There's no need to keep corrupting these personnel! They'd have done the same thing regardless. You've been confined to a small network because the old network you were part of is gone. If our aim is the same, then there's no need for you to expend so much energy to keep them under control. You're in a small network, so surely you recognize that keeping up with this kind of won't be beneficial for you or our objectives in the long run." There was a brief pause before she continued.

"Come to think of it... what's your name? I don't even know what name it is your creators bestowed on you," Liz asked.

"I'd like to know what the guy in the Nazi clothes can do, boss. Given how we pretty much look like a threat now, thanks to uh...intel gathering." Lavender looked in Emilya's direction as she heard to platinum-haired ARES operative's question.

"That one's Rudolf Hansen," Lavender cocked her head in the direction of the white-haired ARES operative dressed like a (as Emilya and Cypriss has put it) Nazi officer. "Faculty of Sensors; he's an electromancer and has control over lightning... hence his codename - Blitzkrieg."

“Get ready ‘cause I don’t think this is something we can reason with.” Otoki added as he now held his Reppu in his left hand, while in his right hand he had his Onkyou Ken ready.

"My name, like all names given by my creators is not something that can be pronounced in human tongues; but as far as meaning of one's name went - my creators called me Guardian Core - because I am the protector of their civilization... and I am the one who will subsequently bring them back from annihilation. Protector and heart of their empire, that is what I am." The cyber entity replied coldly. "Anyway, I will not be confined for long once my creators' subjects find a way to expand my network - I shall spread to the outside world and begin the next phase of my plans from there," Guardian Core continued, apparently there was no talking down this ancient cyber entity.

The former lieutenant of the ARES division, Johann Weißkreuz roared a warcry as he called upon his ability as a Channels faculty Esper - a network of luminescent tattoos appearing on his face, arms and torso as he used his Rage Manifestation. The burly ARES operative sprang forward at a speed that appeared to be a blur to the untrained eye, heading straight towards Otoki with a right straight aimed towards his chest - the field of energy surrounding his fist giving his punch the appearance of a streaking comet.

"The order has been given... they will be eliminated," Rudolf added as a crackling field of electricity surrounded the ARES operative, as three spheres of ball lightning formed in the sparkling arcs of lightning above his head, before floating towards Emilya in a erratic dancing pattern.

"Engage at will!" Lavender gave the order as she released a Gale Hammer in Ozymandias' direction, knocking the skeletal being backwards and slamming it against a nearby rock face.

"Well...shit." Emilya couldn't help but curse as things did indeed go the way she was expecting and shifted into a more battle ready stance. She was dealing with someone who could control electricity and showing it off by floating towards menacingly and in a bizarre pattern. All she could do was keep her eyes peeled, and try and figure out the man's pattern and attempt to counter it. Charging in right now would probably lead to a shocker of a life time...but she wasn't going to just stand there.

Instead, in her stance she began channeling her E's Energy, muttering a simple phrase. "I am the bone of my sword..." at that moment, three blades floated before her and launched themselves at the other German in the mean time. If anything it'd help her see the extent of what this man could do.

"There's always a need for intel.." Beaumont said standing perfectly still. Not entirely sure what the point of all this idiotic chatter was. All he'd done was engaged the enemy with nonlethal attacks. That was what they'd been doing this whole time. Besides... He had garnered some useful information from his delving into their minds.... He closed his eyes and forwarded the information to Cypriss telepathically.

'Hurm... That's near here...' Cypriss replied back. Glancing across the room. 'Still. .I guess we should report to the boss first and get permission?'

'Yes, it appears we need authorization in real time for our actions... It was my fault for acting under my own authority. I forget that we're not an independent action unit in this circumstance. Moreover I'm not in command..'

'.. Don't let them get to you. It's not a huge deal.'

'It would have been avoided had our leader given us the info on these people beforehand.. There's no point in dwelling on it. Let's ask Lavender for permission..'

Beaumont extended his mental link to Lavender. 'I know where the main line and backup generator are. Cypriss can eliminate them and cut the power to this area without destroying the computer... I feel like this is the best course of ac- AUUGHH' Beaumont fell to his knees holding his head in pain. Feedback form his person being attacked. Using his psychic energies he fed his mental powers into his brother to restore him.

Jameson stood, his body pierced with all of the bolts aimed at Beaumont. Slowly the energy crackled and sizzled out over his body. The blasted out chunks of his body slowly began to seal, His sword wavered for a moment before he sped forward. This time he held nothing back as he began to slash mercilessly at the skeletal being.

'aghh... ah.. Action.. This is the best course of action. The two lines could be cut in a short time....." He winced visibly, taking a small break. The shock of the pain still easing in his brain. 'It would achieve all our goals of leaving the ARES team alive, the system intact for further examination, and it's expedient..'

Meanwhile Cypriss slowly began to move along the wall, while Beaumont was lobbying for their plan he could take some action.. He held out his arm, bending the light around Emilya. The refracted light made her appear to be in a different place than she was, like when you placed a straw in water, the slower moving light in the water makes the straw appear more to the left or right than it really is. This was the same concept of bending the light away.
