Lucilla smiled, actually quite proud of herself. She had caught him more off-guard than even she had believed she would. Of course, now that everything was out in the open, things were that much more dangerous. She gave him a sly smile, trying to seem cunning; it made a poor mask for fear. Lucy opened the folder once more, precisely and deliberately grabbing a few sheets from it, sliding them into her wheelchair compartment and sealing it. Leaving the folder open, she slid it over to him, twisting it so the text was right side up. "Mr. Terado then, I will not say specifically who I represent, but you know who I work for and why I am here." She said quietly, her eyes now showing a fiery confidence. "Your little vendetta has come to our attention and I was sent here alone to ascertain the nature of your investigation, but it seems that information has already been put out in the open." Lucy alluded to his previous statement. "As someone who is trying to maintain some kind of perceived balance between humans and Espers it is clear that the goals of my friends and I would be opposite to your own." The folder contained pages and pages of information on him, but most of it was vague at best. Her only purpose of showing it to him was to help him understand the level of aggression they had put in to finding him. Although her mission had already been completed, leaving now would certainly seal her fate. If he wanted to get to destroy the Marauders, she was his only link at the moment. Her next move would be crucial. She wasn't sure what it is she should do, she could not leave so easily and with his defenses up, she couldn't control him for anything substantial. She discreetly looked around the cafe, hoping to spot a way out. |

Arrogant little brat. He felt like killing her right here and now. However, that was his animalistic side talking. He needed to keep a level head on the situation. It was clear that she was from the Marauders now, seeing as he reaction seemed to indicate more towards that than anything else. He took the sheets, looking over them. This was the most extensive amount of information anyone had on him. It was vague, but it was a start. At best it dated back fifty years. But that was enough for a start. Sending someone frail, more to the point, someone in the public eye. Trying to make it someone he wouldn't kill in an eyeblink, but also someone he couldn't kill out in the open. Terado knew very little of the Marauders leader aside from the person's alias. Checkmate. Needless to say whoever it was, they knew how to stratergise. "You've only scratched the surface of my plans with that little trick of yours. You have nothing, absolutely nothing." This child, she really knew nothing of the war he'd been fighting for centuries, and here she sat trying to tell him his mission was futile. He had adverted some of the greatest tragerdies in history. He had been looking down at the sheets placed in front of him, but now he looked up at her, smiling. "I applaud your bravery for tracking me down, however, you are in my court now. Let me make this clear. You shall not leave, before I present you with a gift." Terado needed an insider, he needed someone he could track. It was a long shot and he prayed this girl was ranked high enough so that she wouldn't get killed. He bit thi thumb, drawing a bllod from a small wound, "Hold out your hand. Either you do it now, or else I'll find you when you leave and perform the action then." Although this may be his only means for getting inside the Marauders, the effects of this, should they be discovered by the girl, could lead to problems in the future. |

She panicked at this sudden gesture. It wasn't just that she couldn't stand the sight of blood, or that she didn't know what he was going to do to her. Lucy knew Checkmate would find out about this and when she did, god knows what they do to her. At the very least, she couldn't go back to base with whatever that was on her; if she wasn't executed, Marianne would be sure to null the deal between the two of them. The young Nazario rolled her wheelchair back away from the table, her eyes showing much of her fear. "No, there's no way I can do that, please, you have to understand my situation..." she said. She looked into eyes though, seeing nothing but brutal determination in them. Even if she were to leave, her safety was far from guaranteed. He was going to have his way, one way or another. "I can't do anything to endanger the group, they'll never trust me again, I'll lose everything." the fear had fled from her eyes, now showing a quiet desperation, a certain yearning for something. Marianne took so many precautions for everything that she did, every step had reason, a strategic value. Could she had predicted this? Was she still being toyed with? The Marauders were powerful, but could this man really be more than a match? For a moment she considered helping him, changing sides and getting away from Marianne and her constant scheming and plotting, but the thought went as quickly as it came. As much as she hated the Marauders, she needed their help. Lucy turned towards the door; if he was going to force this on her, she was at least going to try and fight it. It was then she remembered leaving the folder on the table, quickly moving back and reaching swiftly across the table to grab them. |

Terado had guess she would react as much to this kind of proposal, but thankfully, she had left her folder. As reached for it, Terado's uncut hand reached out and grabbed it, holding it down on the table, "Young lady, I don't think you realise what I'm offering you." Terado looked at her, licking the blood before it began to drip, "This is a gift to you. In all honesty, you should consider it a blessing that of all people you were chosen to come investigate me." He needed to give her something, something he knew would happen before the rest of things. His wound was beginning to bleed again, but then suddenly closed up. Terado knew that she would suspect possible reasons for it, but he needed to convince her. "My bloodtype if O-, which means it can adapt to anyone's bloodtype and not kill them. With a single drop of my blood, your powers could heighten, to match those of your superiors and beyond, but, most notable in your case," Terado leaned in, whispering into her ear, "You'll be able to walk again." Terado pulled back, looking at her with his hazel eyes once more, speaking softer now. "Would that be losing everything? Would they ever be able to give you your legs back? A single drop of blood, would go unnoticed." Terado looked at her, having no fear of her eyes this time. "I'm not asking you for anything. I offering you a gift. Better that, then me killing you in cold blood after you leave, no?" The beauty of it was, that the media would be only be able to see his werewolf form. But, he needed a final closer for the deal, "And I assume, your superior, would find you quite valuable, if you just happened to have blood running through you veins that possessed power gained, over several centuries." |

She scoffed at him, still attempting to wrestle her arm away. A few people were beginning to stare, but upon seeing Terado, didn't seem inclined to get involved. "You really think," she said, still struggling, "I care if I walk again?" Her tone indicated she was insulted. This wheelchair was her punishment for all the misdeeds she did just because of her unconditional love for her father. This was what she deserved for turning a blind eye to evil. She had no intention of making the same mistake twice, either. Once she got what she wanted from the Marauders, Lucilla Nazario was going to do everything in her power to take them down. Her expression was defiant and strong, she refused to be bought with something so superficial. As she stared him down, pulling her arm back as hard as she could, her eyes suddenly went wide. Lucy suddenly noticed something that wasn't there before. She only saw it out of the corner of her eye, but it was there. She couldn't look at it, she couldn't let him know that it was there. Lucy stopped fighting him and looked at the floor. "Fine then, if you must do this do it quickly, I have to go..." she said simply, somberly. If this was the way things were, it didn't matter what he did, she was damned either way. "Well, what are you waiting for?" Lucy snapped impatiently. At least no one seemed like they planned to make a stink about the situation. The way they were exchanging they probably looked like an angry couple. |

Terado remained silent the whole time she struggled. He didn't care how much information that this girl may have collected. Whatever the data, he would be able to cope with anything that came his way. He kept his arm firmly on the documents. This was all that he needed, nothing else. Whether this girl knew it or not, eventually she would be unable to be harmed or damaged easily. Deep down, Terado somehow felt she had a good heart, no matter what she said or did, but he needed to stand resolute. When she finally agreed, Terado nodded, "Believe it or not, you will thank me for this in the long run. I promise, when I burn the Marauders to the ground, I will spare your life." Terado's hand as a blur, moving off of the papers and cutting a shallow wound with a partially transformed fingernail on the top of Lucy's hand, before running his bleeding thumb over it, letting his blood mix with hers. The deed was over in that quick motion. Terado could smell his blood on her already, it was faint, but it would get stronger as Lucy grew. His thumb closed up, preventing the blood from flowing out again, before Terado ripped rolled down his right sleeve and ripped the end off, tieing it around Lucy's hand to stop the bleeding, even if it was only a small wound. "I apologize that I had to put you through this, but it would have happened to any other member that your boss sent." Terado stood up, pulling out his wallet and placing a hundred euros on the table. It was more than enough to cover the drinks and tip. He looked around once more at the various customers within the cafe', who immediatly looked away. Good, he didn't need any heroes here. This was for their sake as well. "Goodnight and thank you for you time, Lucilla." With that Terado made his way towards the door, vanishing outside. However, it may not be over just yet. He wsa considering following her now. However that could arouse suspiscion if her allies spotted him. Dilema dilema dilema. |

Lucy merely sat there, slumped over in her chair. In the corner of the cafe, sitting in a small corner booth, a blond haired customer eyed her with an unsettlingly friendly smile. She took a long sip of her latte, covering her face with the large cup as Terado looked around one last time before leaving. As he walked out the door, she continued to stare at Lucy, who continued to avoid her gaze. Before long, the woman in the corner stood up and walked behind her, placing a comforting hand on Lucy's shoulder. Luilla's head raised somewhat at this gesture, though part of her was still too afraid to look. She had been sitting there the entire time, watching the entire conversation, listening in on the whole thing. If Lucilla had decided to turn on the Marauders, if she'd shared even one of their secrets... "You did well, my Bishop," Checkmate whispered into her ear. "that blood is a very valuable thing and now that it's in your veins," she said, running a long nail down the young girl's wrist, "we just might be able to use it to give you what you want..." Lucy's head turned to face Marianne. Maybe she was being used in all this, but if it could bring him back, she would face down a hundred Terados. Lucilla placed a reluctant hand over her shoulder onto Marianne's, tightly holding onto hers. "I'll teleport you with within the base's perimeter so don't be afraid, he won't be able to follow you there." She said, as if reading Lucy's mind. With a simple snap of her fingers, the wheelchair and its occupant suddenly disappeared, much to the shock and surprise of the patrons. Checkmate didn't seem to notice them at all and simply strode back over to her booth and grabbed her latte. She took a long, satisfying gulp and politely walked the empty cup over to the nearest trash bin. The malicious machinator raised her hand to snap her fingers when a thought suddenly came into her head. She instead turned to face the middle of the small building where the most important support beam stood, sturdy as ever. Marianne snapped her fingers once more, the beam vanishing just as simply as Lucy had. The beam reappeared over the crowd walking around outside the restaurant and the patrons inside panicked as the building began to moan and lurch, threatening to fall any second. Now truly satisfied, Marianne closed her eyes, focusing on her far away target and snapped her fingers, completely evaporating from view. |

As Terado began to walk down the street, his ears twitched as they picked up something, soon followed by the screams of people. He turned and saw a large beam falling out of the sky from no where! People were running, out of the way as the beam crashed down and broke and cracked onto the cobblestone street. However, that was when Terado heard something else. The building he had just come out of, was groaning... "Oh no." Running back to the cafe' he smashed the window, thankful that there were no longer people in front of it, like when he came in. He yelled at the patrons in French, "Get out now! The building is coming down!" Whether the customers exposure to him befor caused their blind following or whether the simply wanted to save their own skin, people began to make their way quickly out of the window and door, shoving and pushing each other. Terado assisted, pulling people through the window and onto the broken street. He then had to stepp back as the building collapsed upon itself. He stood there, watching for only and instant, before running off, dissappearing into the dark alleyways. It seemed that had perhaps been a warning or an attempt to kill him before he could seek out the Marauders more vigorously. Whatever it was, Terado now had what he needed. No matter where in the world Lucy was now, if he was in the right country, he could find her. At least, he could with assistance from his eagle totem and a hell of a lot of time. The effects of his blood wouldn't happen right away. They would take time. Hopefully before they fully develop, he would have taken out the Marauders. If not, then the final battle may not be with their boss at all... |
