[Location: Tokyo, Japan]
[Time: Night]

Cherry Blossoms.

Cherry Blossoms were blooming everywhere in Japan, and it irritated a certain girl as she walked through the more quiet backstreets of Tokyo.
"Why? Why couldn't I go back to the Universal Century!?" she angrily ranted to herself. She was also getting strange looks from passersby who simply looked at the strangely foreign and disheveled young girl. It certainly didn't help that she was wearing a black cloak around her as if she were some kind of wizard.

Or in this case...

"<What is she, some kind of cosplayer?>"
"<Maybe she's one of those Other people...>"
"<Ehhh!? How creepy...>"

Aisia Asakura sighed and continued walking, trying to ignore the jeers of the bystanders who oddly enough, seemed to shy away from her presence. Not that she really cared, though she did understand what they were saying. She was more worried about the fact that she could still somehow find her way back to the Universal Century, just that she was... completely unable to go back, period. It was as if some kind of force denied her desire to go back to that world.

"Dammit..."

She decided to take another route that led to a small park nearby. Thankfully, money didn't seem to change between dimensions, and she had a few Yen on hand that she could pass as money from this world, and so she decided to look for a ramen stall where she could eat. Instead, all she found was a relatively empty park filled only with scattered cherry blossom petals, illuminated only by a few lights that kept it lit at night for any people who decided to walk around here at this ungodly hour.

Growl~

"... I'm hungry," she sighed.

Haken Travis.

A man traveling the world on a mission, a mission to find his missing mentor. Starting off in the good old US of A, he went far and wide to accomplish this. However, he had encountered a bit of a problem, for some reason he had woke up in the middle of the park, sitting underneath a sakura tree. Hell, the last thing he remembered was wandering around Times Square. So it left him with one question.

How the hell did he get to Japan?

Well, that didn't matter to him right now. Now was drinky time (again). He still had some booze with him, and it was enough for now, as he unceremoniously opened the bottle and began chugging away. He was thirsty after his apparently long journey from the US to Japan (or so he justified it in his head) so getting around to figuring out where to go and looking for clues about his mentor could wait until he finished.

"At least the scenery is nice." he commented to no one in particular, in English, mind.

"At least the scenery is nice."

Aisia froze. There was a person here who spoke English!
It also oddly enough stank of booze. That became immediately clear when she managed to turn around and see who said it.

The statement was from a drunken redhead man of rather muscular build, chugging away on some alcoholic beverage as he indulged in his cherry blossom viewing. Or... so it seemed, anyway. It was kind of hard to tell, since he seemed to be less interested in the petals and more interested in his liquor.
In her irritated state, she also took the word "scenery" as something else entirely. However, she decided not to pursue the matter.

... Well, since the man was drunk, he probably wouldn't remember anything she would say or ask of him the morning after, so what the hell.
"I'm probably going to regret this, but... I don't suppose you can tell me about this world, can you? I'm... not really from here. What is this world?" she asked rather bluntly. Even if he was drunk and she was relying on completely unintelligible conversation, sometimes a shred of truth that came from the mouths of the inebriated.

Since Haken had only begun to drink, he was still fairly conscious about his surroundings. As such, he was still able to understand what people were saying to him. As such, the man set the bottle down and looked at Aisia, quirking an eyebrow at the rather strange question. He knew his limits (sorta) so he knew that he hadn't drank enough to cause him to start hallucinating. Of course, maybe he was just dealing with a weird kid. As such, the man crossed his arms at first before giving her a more serious look.

"What do you want to know kid? Of course, don't ask me about this place I kinda just...woke up here myself." he stated, rubbing the back of his head.

When Haken replied (and in a surprisingly sober manner too) that he might be able to answer whatever it was she wanted to know, except, well, this place in particular, Aisia almost fell over.
From one drunken party to another... she groaned. This is the last time I agree to get plastered with anybody.
"Well... just the world in general. I'm sure you can at least tell me that much, right? Not so specifically about this place, but just the entire world. Like I said, I'm not from this world."
... Wait, if he's not drunk-- ahhhh screw it.
"I guess in that sense, you could say I'm an... alien? Ehehehe..." she chuckled uneasily. "D-Don't worry, I'm not going to take you back to the mothership or anything so I could probe you or something, that would be weird. I don't really have one, anyway, so I couldn't do that even if I wanted to. You could say... I'm on a journey, to look for something."

"...I see." Haken spoke, just simply nodding along. He didn't seem to care much, then again the world was already strange as it is, given that he got super strength just by drinking booze. Regardless, whether or not he believed the girl did not show, but instead he just explained to the best of his ability.

"Well, not much to say about it. I mean, everyone just lives their lives peacefully, working, studying or in my case wandering around looking for something myself." he began with a simple grin. "Well, I guess normal is kind of hard to come by nowadays. What with the research on Espers and what not never really paid attention to that bit...even though I kinda am one, heh." he concluded.

"Sorry if I'm not much of a help. Still trying to get a grasp of how I ended up here in the first place."

"Espers?..." Aisia blinked as she mouthed the word. She'd only heard the term "Other" before, unaware that the two words were more or less synonymous. So that's what you call people in this world? Is that what I am here now? Dammit, don't tell me I ended up in another world with more super powered people again, she groaned inwardly to herself. Why can't I end up in a more normal dimension?

... Oh, right. Otoha would probably say "that would be boring".

She shook the thought out of her head and spoke once more to Haken. "No, that's... plenty much help. Though... it does kind of worry me if you can't even remember how you got here in the first place," she mused.
Then, as if on cue, her stomach growled once again.

...

Aisia blushed at that and simply asked, "... I don't suppose you know of any ramen stands around here, do you? That's all I can afford right now."

"Considering I woke up here and the last thing I remember was being all the way in New York, no...I gotta cut back on the booze at times, I guess." Haken said sheepishly, before his own stomach began grumbling. "Looks like I'm in need of something to eat too, heh." he mused, before getting up, not before picking up his bottle and drinking from it, of course.

That said, he stuck his hand out for Aisia, offering it for a handshake. May as well be polite. "Names Haken, and I guess we can be considered comrades in being lost...or something."

Aisia slowly yet eventually also took Haken's handshake offer. "Aisia... Asakura," she said, also introducing herself. Well, he also mentioned that he was hungry, so...
"If you're hungry, I think I might have something."

With that, she closed her hands... and produced a manju bun for him. "It's about all I could do at the moment, ehehehe," she said, offering it to Haken so he could eat. Unfortunately, that also made her even hungrier herself, but she didn't mind.

... Oddly enough, she didn't really wonder how many swigs of booze he'd already consumed before they met, but she figured that she would worry about that once they got there.
"I think we should go fairly soon and look for a place to stay; wouldn't want the police to think we're doing something strange here in this park," she chuckled. And indeed, a relatively adult (and somewhat buzzed) man accompanied by a young not-loli was indeed strange and incriminating.

In fact, it would do them well to find some place to eat first."

"Neat trick...the only things I can make are tools...and I have to be drunk to do so." Haken commented, taking the manjuu and simply eating it in a single bite. Regardless he rummaged through his pocket and pulled out his wallet and checked inside. He had about 200 or so US dollars in it, the money he sets aside for emergencies (in other words what he tries to avoid spending on drinks), before putting it back.

"I suppose so...granted I think I'll be getting strange looks just for being foreign." he mused. Somehow, he also felt, that in another universe, him being partnered with a (not)loli was all too familiar, but passed this feeling off as being slightly buzzed. "Though...are you sure you even want to be going anywhere with a guy like me?" he asked honestly.

Let's face it, he did not look like the type that a girl should trust.

"Well, we're both foreign, and we're both going to get strange looks regardless," Aisia chuckled. "As to the trust issue, you haven't done anything yet to me, have you? That's good enough for me for now, at least. Besides, it's not like I can't defend myself should the need arise. Frankly, I'd rather not though, and you seem friendly anyway. That, and you listened to me."

She gave him a rather sweet smile at that. "I guess I can't help but trust those who are willing to hear me out in the first place," she said. Of course, she's already had one such bad experience with Wendolo of the Inspectors, but that's another story for another time. Besides, it worked out with Ayane, so why the hell not. That and she's wiser and more experienced than back then.

"Well, shall we go?" she asked, bringing out a hand for him. Given that Haken actually seemed to get lost going from New York to Tokyo, having her lead the way seemed like a better idea at the time.

"Not the best of reasons to trust a wayward drunkard like me, but if you insist." Haken responded, laughing a bit. He knew his faults very well, and freely admitted them. Whether or not he was making efforts to change though, was another story. Regardless he followed the girl, having not much of a choice left right now, it was better then staying in the park, that was fore sure.

"Lead the way~"

Aisia soon warmed up to the big lug, it seemed, as she slowly went from quiet and mysterious to cheerful and energetic, despite the lack of any actual energy to fuel the latter. "Mhm! Let's go! I guess the best place to look would really be in the city instead of here..."
With that, she and Haken left the park for places unknown...

... Sort of.
If there was anything between dimensions that hasn't changed, its the fact that Tokyo was still a bustling and lively city. All the streets were filled with the hustle and bustle of people, and Roppongi was definitely no exception. And it was probably because they were in Roppongi, an area widely considered to be part of the night life scene of Tokyo, that people gave the pair weird looks, and... not because they where foreigners.

"<... Geh, look at those two! Don't tell me that man's a lolicon!>"
"<They're out in the open like that and just walking around here like that...>"
"<Well, maybe they're a father and daughter. They're both foreigners, after all.>"
"<... That's even worse.>"

Aisia sighed. I liked the Other prejudice better... she thought, since she could understand Japanese and knew full well what the hell they were saying. Haken... probably not as much.

They finally reached a small, quaint (and best of all, cheap) ramen stall sitting next to a small electronics shop. The TVs on display spouted the advertisements, programs, and the like. Aisia vaguely wondered if even in this world, Gundam was a show just like back in Hya-
Then it hit her. Perhaps the news here could tell her a bit more about this world! And since it was late, there was bound to be news somewhere. Sure enough...
"<And in Foreign News. SEED Institute agents at Nova Oasis stopped another Esper-related crime spree. This is the the first Esper-related incident this week, but people are afraid that this is just part of the growing trend of Esper violence that we've seen n the past few months...>"
This caught her attention. From what she seemed to understand, each dimension seemed to have its focal difference point, meaning that certain places that exist in one dimension do not exist anywhere else in other dimensions. For her dimension, that was Hatsunejima. For the Universal Century, that was Orb. And in her last dimension, that was Hyakuji.

Here? It was probably Nova Oasis. The name at least was unheard of in the other dimensions she traveled to.
"Ne, Haken," Aisia asked as she led her musclebound friend to the ramen shop next door, "What's this Nova Oasis place that they're talking about in the news? There seems to be something... interesting about that place."

The stares he was getting as they headed to the ramen place hurt. And even though he did not understand a word the people were saying, he got a very good jist of it (well, the word lolicon helped). He immediately wanted to sock everyone for the comments, he still had a bit of alcohol in his system, after all, it was enough for a short term "Heat"! But he had decided against it, his stomach came first.

"Nova Oasis?" Haken began. To be honest he didn't know much about it himself, it never interested him and despite being the type of person they usually look for, it didn't appeal too much. "It's a city that's tied to this OASIS Project thing, don't ask me about that though." he continued, it was painfully obvious that he was not the type to pay attention to such. "But from my understanding it's basically a place for Espers and what not. S'got a school for 'em and a lot of the organizations revolving around them are based there."

"... Geh."
Aisia sighed and had to resist banging her head against the counter. This completely confirmed what she'd suspected all along. "ANOTHER world with magical beings being led by an organization. You'd think some high school girl actually sat down and thought this shit up," she sighed.

The ramen cook who served them, unlike most of the other people they passed by, was pretty friendly and tried to serve the pair as quickly and orderly as possible. "So, what can I get you?" he asked in broken English.
"<Um, let's see... I'll have the beef ramen and some water,>" she answered in Japanese to spare the cook with having to use up all of his English in the process. "Haken?" she asked her friend. Well, the cook seemed to know enough English, so she didn't bother translating his order for him.

When the cook affirmed their orders, gave them their beverages, and started to cook, Aisia quietly took a sip of her water before turning to Haken. "So, Haken-san... can you tell me anything about yourself? I mean, aside from somehow ending up here in Japan from New York."
