Lawman, this post is slightly godmoddish but it was the logical course of events given lavender was attacked and she did nothing to prevent it... I hope it's ok with you.

As Lavender's blast hit the ceiling it was clear that dawn was upon them, as the sky was turning clearer by the second. It was a very smart thing to do, for it would corner the vampires, leaving them to choose between killing their enemies and dying by the sunlight, or running away and save themselves. Unfortunately for her she decided to blast the ceiling instead of avoiding the two vampires attacking her at once. Four sets of long, steel-hard, razor-sharp sets of nails sunk on her body as she was pushed by the tremendous, inhuman strength of the creatures, slamming her against the carriage's wall at terrible speed.

As Terado revealed his true form, his attacker was slightly taken aback, and so were the others. A werewolf wasn't that easy a kill after all. Still, as he turned to rip the vampire's heart out with increased speed his opponent quickly jumped backwards avoiding the fatal blow and his leg from being cut off; despite the werewolf's enhanced speed the vampire still moved faster. Terado's claws slashed across his chest however, leaving deep gashes from which blood poured freely. The vampire stood on the carriage's wall like a spider, holding his chest for a moment.

At the exact time Terado made his attack another vampire lunged at him from another wall, landing on the werewolf's back and holding onto him with crushing strength; one arm choking the lycantrope's neck while he tried to slash across his face with the other. As the wind blades were fired they cut at the attacking vampires on several spots of their bodies, only for their wounds to slowly close again. Air was nothing like fire or a werewolve's claws after all, and did nothing much other than annoying them.

"Very interesting indeed... I haven't seen your kind in a while. Still no reason enough to let you live any longer, I'm afraid. And by the way... destroying the roof in the hopes we will burn was smart... but useless."

As the elder spoke his eyes turned red; not a bright glow, rather they were injected with blood, every single blood vessel was filled, giving him a frightening appearance. He raised his hand in a strange gesture as he looked at the two of them.

Meanwhile on the other side of the door the screams had quieted down.

Sure, I've no problems with that

"Burn, bloodsuckers!" Lavender hissed as her Saber Gust move blasted a gaping hole in the carriage roof, letting the rays of the morning sun into the train carriage. Although her tactic was a sound one, she had let her guard down and before her mind could even register what would happen next, two of the vampires who had set their sights on her were upon Lavender like white on rice.

The purple-haired elfin screamed in pain as four hands, each tipped with long nails that are strong as steel and sharp as razors sank deeply into her vulnerable flesh and forced her back with a strength far greater than what a human being can muster, slamming her against the wall of the carriage, away from the patch of sunlight streaming into the carriage. If only... if only she could push them towards the light - Lavender struggled, but the vampires' strength was overwhelming - it was as if she had been pinned against a wall by a bulldozer - while she hadn't had the time to set up a proper defensive barrier, her swift reactions by summoning her winds to cushion the impact saved her from getting her body crushed on impact. It was in a situation like this she wished she were a Channels faculty Esper - their ability to augment their strength and toughness would be much desired.

"Very interesting indeed... I haven't seen your kind in a while. Still no reason enough to let you live any longer, I'm afraid. And by the way... destroying the roof in the hopes we will burn was smart... but useless." The elder vampire spoke as he pointed at Terado, his eyes changing color to a bloodshot red.

It would seem that Terado had better luck fighting off the vampires, but what Lavender heard next chilled her blood - the screams from the passenger carriage behind them had died down. The people... no! Lavender thought. They killed them! Those bastards... she couldn't forgive them, and Lavender swore that she'll kill them all!

"You killed them!" Lavender screamed, but this time in rage rather than pain. "I... I'll kill you all!" Steeling her thoughts and fighting back the pain searing through her body, Lavender mustered her energy to summon her telekinetic shield, as a sphere of violet light and orbiting field of white particles surrounded her form, and the vampires would find themselves being repulsed by a strong kinetic force as if a speeding semi truck just ran into them, slamming them backwards towards the opposite wall.

This little bug was fast. At least Terado was able to lay some damage on him. Terado then felt another one latch itself onto his back, trying to choke him and slash at his face. Only weaklings attacked from behind. As the hand attempted to slash at Terado's face, he opened his mouth, revealing long rows of fangs. His head shot forward, aiming to bite onto the hand and bite it right off the pest's wrist. Meanwhile, Terado's sword-wielding arm lashed out, aiming to sever the arm that was choking him from the vampire's body, or at the very least sever the muscles so it became lax. Lastly, Terado's free claw went around his back, aiming to grab the vampire's back and pierce into the flesh around the spinal column, before pulling the bloodsucker off of him.

Terado truely wanted to retort when the elder spoke, but with his windpipe currently at risk, he didn't want to risk speaking. Terado needed to get rid of them fast, currently the person he was fighting with had been seriously wounded. He didn't know all that Lavender was capable of, but he was truely worried that he may be overpowered if she died. She then summoned some sort of shield and Terado began to worry less, at least towards Lavender.

That elder vampire, was going to be a problem though. They always were...

Lavender's shield activated just in time, blasting the two vampires off her body an instant before their vicious fingernails tore her body apart. As they flew across the carriage the sunlight coming from the roof and the thin holes created by Terado's wind blades burned their bodies slightly, leaving a thin trail of smoke as they crashed onto the wall.

At the same time, the vampire clinging onto Terado's back was literally shredded to pieces by the werewolf's powerful jaw and claws, which tore at his limbs with ease. Unfortunately for him the other two guarding the door came at his rescue, taking advantage of the werewolf being quite engaged at the moment. One by one they sped by him, dashing at incredible speed, lashing with their claws every time. They knew they couldn't overpower the werewolf's inhuman strength, but they could outmatch his speed. The one vampire Terado's claws had reached crawled away on the wall, too weak from blood loss to fight him.

At that precise moment the elder's eyes flashed a red glow for only an instant and the room was covered in pitch-black darkness... magical darkness which completely blocked the sun and any other source light.

"And now... I told you it would only be more painful. I am a man of my word and I always keep it..."

As the elder spoke, it was clear his words meant he was about to join in the fight.

Lavender was still feeling the effects of the nasty wounding delivered to her by the vampires - but she had no time to catch her breath. Plumes of smoke rose from the vampires' bodies as her shield knocked them off her, the brief exposure to the sun causing them some minor burns. With steely resolve, Lavender pressed on with her counterattack as she dispelled her telekinetic shield to go on the offensive. Slashing out with her arm, the purple-haired Esper unleashed another Saber Gust, a blade of energized air lashing from her hand towards the neck of the nearest vampire for a decapitating strike. It takes too long for them to roast in the sun at this rate, so the best bet would be to finish it off with one strike! With any luck, her Saber Gust might decapitate not one, but two vampires due to the close proximity of the two bloodsuckers.

Without warning, however, a zone of magically-conjured darkness filled the carriage - a trump card the elder vampire had up his sleeves. The darkness seemed to swallow the light of the surroundings, preventing any sunlight from penetrating into the carriage. "And now... I told you it would only be more painful. I am man of my word and I always keep it..." The vampire elder's voice boomed in the darkness, signaling his intention to now join the fight.

"Let's hope you hadn't bitten off more than you can chew!" Lavender replied as she thrust out her palm to unleash a gale hammer in the elder's general direction, sending out a concussive jet of energized air at where the vampire elder's torso should be.

One and a half down.

However, now Terado was dealing with two of these little speed demons. As they raced past, slashing at him, he grunted angrily. The wounds vanished practically as soon as they appeared. After all Terado's regeneration rate exceeded that of a vampire's and most modern lycanthropes. Before he could retaliate, the elder vampire began to unleash a magically crafted darkness. Damn, it looks like the Ink-eye Fog... thought Terado, recalling having to battle in a similar technique before, although he couldn't say if this one was the same.

He needed to get rid of these two pests so that he could dispose of the elder. And to do that, he needed to throw them off balance. He could still smell and hear them clearly, even in the darkness. Slowly he pulled his free claw back, thrusting it up towards the ceiling and causing a large updraft of wind that would raise the vampires upwards. Terado then changed the nature of kaneryuu, extending the shortsword into a bladed whip and sending to flying to slice at the vampire's, judging where they were by there smell.

As I finally make it back to the cargo carriage I find the place engulfed in total darkness. To my surprise the two strangers are still alive and still putting up a fight. The darkness in which the place is covered is not natural but produced by magic, which makes it a little more difficult to move in. Nevertheless it's still my element.

The male has turned into a beast himself, albeit a different kind. I'm not too sure what side he's on as he doesn't stink the way the others do... so I'll leave him be for now. The female is completely different: nor beast, nor human either. Still, they both seem to have something in common... they use the air around them as their weapon.

There is one of the vampires who's been taken care of by the wolf... another is badly injured, two of them were evidently touched by the sun but have obviously been saved by the summoned darkness. Four of them are unscratched.

The large beast summons a strong wind which catches a couple of them momentarily, lifting them up in the air as what seems to be a condensed gust of wind in the shape of a blade cuts into the carriage's thick metal wall right on the spot they were standing on an instant before they were blown by the wolf's attack. Unknowingly he has actually saved them; they both hit the ceiling really close to a weird-shaped hole, undoubtedly where the sunlight once came from, then crash down on the floor... only to get up again. The other beasts seemed to either be unaffected as is the case of the elder... or simply fly away as they are lifted up.

The strangers have been holding up this long without me, but I doubt they can keep it up for much longer. The vampires are insanely fast, brutally strong, are absolutely silent even when they run- the only sound ever coming from those things is when they speak- and they have an elder leader with commanding them. On top of that, the unnatural darkness is blinding these two.

I fully step into the carriage now, just as I see their leader bite his own fingertips. His blood runs freely, pouring down... then up! The blood coming out of his body quickly changes shape and becomes solid, turning into long, terribly sharp, blade-like razors which quickly extend towards the wolf, stopping his whip-like blade on the spot.

The elder's blood-manipulation technique, or hemomancy is usually more frightening to look at than anything else, for all it does it turning into solid shapes which can be used for a variety of physical combat styles... but in the hands of a vampire it is truly something to fear.

Vampire blood is dirty, poisoned with evil and death; it is the curse by which other people turn into vampires. A wound from one such weapon won't heal even if you can naturally regenerate like the wind-wielding wolf and will almost always leave a black scar which will never fade. Then again, I have known of nobody whose body was still alive for it to have time for the scar to disappear after such an attack. On top of this, if the vampire manages to stab you he can then turn his blood liquid again and literally fill you up with it while it's still inside you... instantly turning you into a vampire.

I must act quickly before it's too late.

I glide within the deep darkness and take a hold of the two already-burned vampires, as they jump towards the girl, grabbing them by their necks in mid-air. Before they know what happened I have phased out of the carriage into the outer wall facing west- the one still in the shade- and gone up to the roof.

Their screaming fills the air as they burn in the scorching sunlight, right in my hands. I really love the feeling.

The carriage suddenly echoed with the ear-piercing screams of the burning vampires above, whose putrid, acrid smell filled the air inside the room as their scorched carcasses were dropped inside from the hole on the roof.

"Hold them."

The elder spoke with rage as he saw his men fall. Instantly following his command, the others obeyed.

In total darkness they moved, dashing like the wind towards them. Ready to dodge whatever attack the wolf and the girl my launch at them... which wasn't hard given their speed. They knew the drill, as they'd done it so many times before. Two would hold each for just a second, which was all it would take for the elder to stab the two of them, literally nailing them to the carriage's walls. That would be the end of it.

"Gah! I can't get a clear shot in this darkness!" Lavender cursed as she could hear her Saber Gust blast through the wall of the carriage, but she could tell this much that her attempt to decapitate the two vampires had missed its mark. Two of the vampires moved swiftly through the stygian darkness, and Lavender could barely notice their movement, virtually silent in the darkness - although she would never know how close she came to getting killed as Nemesis - the real deal - moved through the dark and grabbed hold of the two bloodsuckers as he phased out of the carriage with his targets, leaving them out in the sun to roast. It was only when she heard their infernal cries from outside did Lavender realize that someone else was in the train carriage with herself and the lycan and was apparently fighting on their side.

"Hold them." The angry voice of the vampire elder rang out in the darkness, apparently incensed at the deaths of two members of his brood. Sharpened by combat experience, Lavender's instincts kicked in as she crossed her arms together - with her TK shield not yet ready, the SEED instructor opted instead for a secondary defense plan, summoning as many Aero Whips as she could muster, Lavender created a pocket of rapidly-moving air around herself, which would make it difficult for whatever is advancing towards her to move forward.

Terado's nose sensed the smell before he felt the vibrations of the blood spears on this blade. Terado recoiled the whip-blade back into its sword form as quickly as he could, before sheathing it. Dammit, to think this bastard has reached that level. He's a much older Elder than I originally thought. Terado had encountered this technique before. His original Sentinal squadron leader had died from the technique. It was something he would not soon forget.

It was then that he heard and sensed screaming and another pressence coming from the outside the carriage. There was someone else? Then he really had felt another pressence before. However, that was unimportant at the moment. Terado suddenly felt sets of arms holding him still while the Elder prepared his attack. The werewolf closed his eyes. Sight was useless here, so all of his other senses needed to be heightened. He needed to time it just right.

As the blood-spears came towards him and before the other vampires released him, Terado brought up a sphere of razor wind. The blades of wind moved quickly over a sphere shield of air, with the intention of slicing up the blood-spears while at the same time, causing massive damage to the vampires holding him. Terado only prayed the girl was capable of a similar technique, or else he'd be possibly be fighting this battle alone, with an unknown combatent to boot.

It seems this encounter has been as surprise for all of those involved. None of us here really counted on our opponents to be that strong, included the chief of those filthy beasts. Still, the scales are tipped heavily on the vampires' side.

I'm back inside now. The the scene before me doesn't look good. The wolf is being held by two of the beasts now and the girl is being attacked by the two remaining ones. They struggle with what seems to be a sort of whirlwind around her for a moment, but they use their great strength to push themselves through it and finally grab her.

Their leader points his hands in both directions, he's going to end it... I can't take care of them all at once, one of them will die... unless I take the leader out. But he might prove too strong even for me.

No other choice.

I bend the darkness, not without effort though, magical darkness is bound by the caster's will and is much more heavier than regular one.

I grab his feet and pull down as hard as I can. At that precise moment he fires his blood spears towards the both of them... but I have already disrupted his aim.

Two deadly spears pierce the wall next to the girl's face, one stabs one of the beasts holding her right through the heart, causing him to fall and the other seems slightly pushed to the side by her own power, tearing through her clothes but otherwise leaving her unharmed.

The wolf uses his power as well, blasting the creatures with great force... but they refuse to let go- they probably fear their punishment if they do far more than they fear the air blades, which don't seem to harm them much given their regenerating abilities. The blood spears however have trouble getting through the air barrier... at least some of them do and end up nailing the wall as well.

One however penetrates the wolf's defenses and sinks in. I'm not able to see whether he was hit or not, for I feel the terrible pull from the elder's magic willing the darkness to release him and I'm forced to turn my complete attention towards him.

He's strong... he breaks free and strengthens his magic. I need to do something else before he attacks again. Suddenly he speaks again... this time to me.

"So you won't show your face then! Very well, I'll end this now and kill the whole lot of you! I'm tired of playing games!

He brings his claws towards his chest and cuts it open... then his wrists and abdomen... hell this is bad! He's going to use all of his blood for a massive attack... he's going to sacrifice his minions as well!

There is only one thing I can do... I'll put all my power into fighting his magic, but I'm afraid I won't make it in time.

The vampires were initially repulsed by Lavender's barrier of fast-moving air - the winds keeping them at bay but not for long. Bloody Hell! Lavender thought as two of the vampires overpowered her makeshift barrier, grabbing hold of the purple-haired Esper, who struggled in vain against their overwhelming might. In the darkness, Lavender could hear a whooshing noise, as if something is traveling towards her at a high speed - a projectile? Her ability to feel air currents told her this much.

So... this is it, isn't it? Lavender thought. GLADIUS, SEED Institute, Deku Shima, Achilles-sensei... would this be the last they would ever hear of her? "NO!" Lavender screamed, her tone a mixture of helplessness and frustration - was it all she could do? To count the seconds she had left on this world? Lavender shut her eyes tight and prepared for the imminent end...

The SEED instructor thought she could hear someone stumbling in the darkness, followed by the sound of flesh ripping - although as far as she knew it wasn't her own. Two metallic thuds resounded from the wall near her face as a pair of blood spears missed her completely - while another sunk itself into the heart of one of the vampires holding her. The sound of fabric ripping drew Lavender's attention to one of the vampires who appeared to be staggered by the force of her winds, the vampire grabbing hold of her jacket and tearing it in the process, but left her otherwise unharmed.

That was a designer suit from Milan that cost me over 700 Euros! Lavender's thoughts came in an angry screech as she summoned a Saber Gust around her left hand and discharged it point blank at the vampire's head!

"So you won't show your face then! Very well, I'll end this now and kill the whole lot of you! I'm tired of playing games!" The elder's voice boomed in the darkness.

"No, I'll be sending you to Hell!" Lavender spat as she raised her hands and sliced through the air, swinging her right vertically in an uppercut strike and her left horizontally in a cross strike, sending two near-simultaneous Saber Gusts at the vampire elder in a cross-shaped formation!

Terado had sensed the spear piercing his barrier. He had managed to shift his body somewhat in order to avoid any vital organs from being hit. However the spear pierces his left side of his lower torso, sinking in deeply. Terado roared loudly, the cry of anger and pain shaking the very foundations and walls of the carriage. If there was one thing that he knew about vampires, is that they were a cancer. He had been born a lycanthrope and so could control whether he could pass on his powers.

And as such, he had developed his body to control itself as to how it reacted to disease. In this case, only one, fatal and gory counter was available. Terado's muscles around the wound area pulsed and contorted in such away that his abdominal muslces forced the the spear out, but it didn't end there. Terado began to purposefully spill his blood, focussing on his circulatory system and pushing the black-blood out. He would not have this filth within his body. It would take time to heal properly, but at least he would not be infected by it. He'd been around too long for him not to know how to coutner such an attack.

He was just thankful that he knew how to counter it. The only thing left, was to take care of the two vampires holding him. The werewolf's large jaws opened wide, turning to face the first vampire and ripping his head right from his shoulders and then repeat the procedure with the other one. It was then that he heard the elder vampire's words and Terado knew there was only one thing he could do. He needed to knock him out, knock him backwards. Something to buy them more time!

"Lord Aquila! I call upon your power!" Terado's eagle totem began to glow suddenly, releasing a faint blue light. Then suddenly a large wind blast, illuminated by the same blue light and in the form of an eagle, went to attack the Elder vampire. It was the only thing Terado had left, to pull out as much power from his totem as possible.

I...must... concentrate...

I have to break his will and bend this darkness...

It's the only way!

As lavender's cross saber gusts were fired the pouring blood instantly formed a solid shield which covered the elder's body merely an instant before they reached him. It wasn't enough to stop them though as they cut through the thing and hit their mark. The shield however had minimized their power, and instead of cutting the vampire to pieces they merely opened up wide, long gashes on his torso allowing even more blood out much quicker.

I have the power of darkness...

I AM the power of darkness!

No law of nature, no magical power is above me. I am your master. My will is your command!

The elder hadn't even tried pouring his blood into the wolf, he had no intention of turning him after all... but he could feel his body pushing his spear away. These two were much more troublesome than he could have possibly imagined.

His anger and annoyance already transformed into fury, the vampire gathered all the pouring blood inside his body and condensed it all at once.

You fools! I'm tired of you, die already!

As Terado summoned his totem the vampire poured almost the entirety of his blood into a single, devastating attack. Thick, sharp and exaggeratedly-long spears poured from his body in all directions. There were dozens of them... enough to kill everything inside the carriage, for they reached every corner of it, leaving no room for escape.

"RECEDE!"

Suddenly the impenetrable darkness moved, retreating from Terado and Lavender in an instant and towards the center of the carriage to where the source of it was: the vampire. It was enough for them to see the dozens of blood spears flying in their direction.

It was enough for the blazing sun to finally enter the broken carriage from the many holes produced by the fierce battle, reducing the other vampires to ashes.

A mere inch before the sharpened blood stabbed their bodies in several different places at once, the light of the sun evaporated them leaving nothing but a foul stench behind.

At that very moment Terado's totem charged the darkened form of the vampire, who had lost way too much blood to be able to stand up to it. The glowing bird crashed against him, then the wall behind him until he finally fell to the ground many yards behind. The magical darkness still covered him as he was rapidly left behind by the moving train.

In the middle of the broken carriage stood a dark figure, humanoid in form. No features could be seen, not even a pair of eyes in its face as it looked on, seemingly exhausted.

The vampire elder attempted to stop Lavender's double Saber Gusts by raising a shield of magically-solidified blood to stop the purple-haired Esper's attack; while the blades of energized air succeeded in cutting through his defenses, they had nonetheless softened them up to the point that instead of cutting him into pieces, they merely drew deep gashes on his body - something that while painful to a human opponent won't even phase a vampire due to the undead's regenerative ability and vastly superior physical resilience. If anything it seemed to worsen the situation as it allowed him to draw his blood for his spells even quicker.

"You fools! I'm tired of you, die already!" The vampire elder roared in anger as he sent a mass of blood spears racing down the length of the cargo carriage, a hail of projectiles that was virtually impossible to avoid!

"RECEDE!"

"Huh?" Wondered as another voice boomed in the darkness as the inky blackness was suddenly forced back to their source, the vampire elder, allowing the light of day to come streaming into the carriage, quickly burning the other vampires into ashes, which scattered to the wind produced by the train's movement and Lavender and Terado's combined abilities. This miraculously saved the Esper and the lycan as the blood spears evaporated in the sunlight, leaving nothing save a foul odor.

Lavender stepped back as the lycan released a glowing raptor which flew headlong into the elder vampire, smashing him through the wall of the carriage and leaving him behind in the desert as the train moved on. The undead lord was still shrouded by his magical darkness, however, so Lavender had doubts whether that would be the last she would see of him.

"Nemesis, I presume?" Lavender asked, resting her hands on her hips as she gazed upon the shadowy humanoid figure on the floor, who appeared to look back at her, although that she couldn't tell for sure as it had no facial features, not even a pair of eyes.

Terado heard two shouts, an instant before he was about to bite off the heads of his captors. Suddenly, light filled the carriage, letting Terado see fully what was going on. A single morphous black blob was at the centre of the carriage. He could smell the elder was there, but there was something else too. As his captors were turned at ash and as Lord Aquila's power flew forward to assault the Elder, Terado pulled his strength together, forcing his muscles to act, even though they would be suffering later for not resting. But he had to make use the adrenalin in his body while he could.

While the spears evaporated, Terado focused on regenerating and healing all of his wounds. Even if his muscles ached later, at least he wouldn't be in a more critical condition due to loss of blood. As Terado's final attack impacted, he couldn't help but supress a smile. That was far too close for comfort. At any rate, with an elder gone, he may not have to continue to concern himself with vampire activity in this area. They would be quiet for a while. Even if he was shrouded in darkness, he wouldn't be able to keep up that spell for long before he was destroyed by the sun. After all, there weren't that many hiding spots from what Terado knew of the area.

As the last pieces of skin bound themselves together, Terado gazed at Nemesis. So this was the entity from before. Terado had fought the battle from beneath his cloak, so aside from the large wolf snout protruding from his hood, he was also still unrecognised by Lavender, for the most half. He looked at him, then spoke, "Impressive. I've never seen anyone redirect magical darkness like that." Could he possibly be the possesor of the Pipis totem? That would explain something in Terado's mind, although it would also raise concerns of his own.

He had never heard of and Other and certainly no Espers that had ever done what he did. Terado spoke in his native, ancient tongue, basically conveying his thanks. "Ush vala no."
