Name: GLADIUS Corps Overview: Another offshoot of Project OASIS, the formation the GLADIUS Corps was spearheaded by WTB and Gustaf E. Munchausen in 1984 as a countermeasure to militant human supremacist groups like CRASH, and the increasing threat of the abuse of E'S powers and hostile Others being reported worldwide. As a crisis response team, GLADIUS is run under a different administration and is considered for all intents and purpose a separate entity from the SEED Institute, although it is not surprising for staff - or in a few cases, students - from the SEED Institute to volunteer for duty in the GLADIUS Corps. The motto of the GLADIUS corps is Semper Vigilo, Semper Praeparo - which is Latin for Ever-vigilant, Ever-ready. With the second founding of Project OASIS, the GLADIUS Corps was also revived, and subsequently restaffed. Joining Requirements: All interested applicants must be at least 16 years of age, and not physically handicapped (unless you possess powers that can sufficiently compensate for your handicap) Powers are a must for those seeking to join either as an ARES operative or HERMES operative. The character seeking to join cannot (obviously) be in a group that has bad relations with Project OASIS, such as The Marauders. Organizational Structure: The GLADIUS Corps consist of three divisions, each named after a mythical deity based on their corresponding roles: HERMES - Reconnaissance and field intelligence; responsible for battlefield research and gathering information on enemy forces ARES - Crisis response and elimination; the front line combatants of the GLADIUS Corps. ATHENA - Research assistance and technical support in OASIS facilities, and providing protection for Project OASIS research teams out in the field. Perks: Basic combat training (i.e. CQC, field discipline, military terms/jargons, etc.) will be taught to characters that are accepted into the ranks of GLADIUS, assuming the character isn't already combat-trained that is. In addition, due to intense training and discipline in the usage of one's E'S powers, GLADIUS-affiliated characters get a one-time bonus of +1 to their E'S Level. Lastly, all GLADIUS operatives are issued with two sets of uniforms, which they are required to be in during GLADIUS operations - a standardized dress uniform for base duties which is based along military dress uniforms. (suit jacket, tie and dress shirt - trousers for men, skirts for women) As well as a field uniform for field duties, whose design and appearance is left up to the individual to decide. If your character accepted into the ranks, do note down "GLADIUS uniform/outfit" (whether you wish to call it an outfit or uniform is left to your own discretion) inside your inventory. Roster: Commander: Lavender N. Smith Deputy Commander: Nozomi Kimishima Lieutenants: (Division Heads) HERMES: Agent Johnson ARES: Reserved ATHENA: Open Adjutant: Xuanmeng, Zhuge Agents: Emilya von Einzbern (ARES div) Arutha Kiera (Recruit) Mizuki Kitazawa (HERMES div) Corinae La'Saet (HERMES div) Elza Lanster (ARES div) Kitano Ogihara (ARES div) Cypriss N. Quatrain (HERMES div) Eliza Terri Scott (Liz - ATHENA div, Misuzu - HERMES div, Kanna - ARES div) Beumont J. Willicott (HERMES div.) Marina Wulfstan (HERMES div.) Kira Yamato (ARES div.) Open x unlimited Reserves: Achilles (former commander) Edited by Lawman, May 9 2009, 02:22 AM.

(Contributed by Katyusha) Below is the GLADIUS charter, which lists the authority held by the GLADIUS Corps. Jurisdiction: The GLADIUS Organisation has primary jurisdiction over all E'S related threats to the global community at large, and is to assist various national militaries, police and paramilitary organisations in crisis response and prevention in all manner of E'S related phenomena. For practical purposes, GLADIUS is to authorised to request cooperation from any and all UN Member States to accomplish specific tasks with the goal of meeting threats to global security. Furthermore, GLADIUS has jurisdiction over E'S related affairs not directly associated with the SEED Institute, and may take precedence over other UN bodies in such matters related to all E'S related phenomena. Jurisdiction may be shared with other organisations if E'S related phenomena are secondary, such as for cultural excavations and historic monuments. Purpose: The charter of GLADIUS is as follows: - Investigate any situation threatening international peace involving the use of E'S - Contain or eliminate any E'S related threat to international peace and security - Enforce its decisions militarily, or by any means necessary - Avoid conflict and maintain focus on international cooperation - Preservation of Human Rights and Liberties as affirmed by the UN charter - Further peaceful use of E'S energy to better global society Authority: GLADIUS has primary authority over investigation, containment, and activity regarding the use, abuse or possession of E'S energy that is not specifically part of the charter of the SEED Institute, and may if necessary, call upon assistance from member states of the United Nations or request military assistance if required. The use of such power however, must be reported in detail, with full explanations of the necessity of such use. |
