The lengthy review of one of the best movies of the year is now up. Click on the banner to read the review for 'Inglourious Basterds' and never ask me to spell those words correctly now that I've misspelled them (on purpose) so many times!

Nice review Igg... good read. Very good, stylistic movie. Great performances all around, tremendous direction, beautiful set creation/locations/costume design.

It's wasn't so much Pitt's acting that bothered me in particular, it was just Pitt himself.. something was off about him in this one. He looked like he was just writing in his proformance, like he didn't care enough. Still one of my favorite actors. His bit was great though, Them Nazzza's.

I think this film is going to get many repeat viewings from me before I make up my mind about it. First impression, though, very good. Something is just holding me back from calling it great, I'm probably in the minority in saying that. Tarantino has never let me down though, one of few directors I can actually say that about.

Christoph Waltz was fucking AMAZING in this film. he best get an AA nom.

I enjoyed Bear Jew plenty, too. great character. BJ Novak was lame, just there

Who was the guy who played the British spy who got done up in the bar... 'Might as well go out speaking the King's english.' Great scene.

And when Waltz killed Kruger... fucking sick yo.

Only saw it once so far, can't remember that one. Agree with you though on Waltz, he shined in this one.

And Kruger was perfect in her role. The brown hair turned her from a hot German chick to a hot German spy in the 40's.

As was Laurent... just perfect or near perfect casting all around.

That was Michael Fassbender aka Stelios from 300.

Yes, he was pretty cool, too.

I've watched it twice so far since Tuesday.

Man, the opening is a little over 20 minutes, but kicks you in the balls.

eh, didn't kick me in the balls. it is a nice modern take on a classic tale.

my one complaint about basterds is the unoriginality of the shooting. the see-through item reveal has been done before in QT films, as has the above the room tracker through a building, and the reveal down to another room or floor. it just feels like a repeat.
