I am Jack's raging bile duct - here are the rules of Fight Club...

1- You don't talk about fight club.
2- You don't talk about fight club.
3- When someone says stop, or goes limp, even if he's just faking it, the fight is over.
4- Only two guys to a fight.
5- One fight at a time.
6- They fight without shirts or shoes.
7- The fights go on as long as they have to.
8- If this is your first night at fight club, you have to fight.

Still, this one looks great, and puts that piece of crap German import to shame.

Never understood your hate for the German release, which I like. Guess I'll have to give the Fox release and check it out for myself.

The German release is a travesty, it really is. People saw it, and thought "hey, the film is supposed to be gritty!"

look at it, then the USA version. night and day. the sound mix on the German is a disaster to boot. i was happy to get rid of that one, and at one point it was my most wanted released disc. just a flaming pile

Nate this review makes me waiting for Christmas to be that much harder. I have refrained from buying any Blu-ray's right now because I have no idea what I am going to get under my tree. But if I don't get this as a gift I am going to hurry and get it. Definitely in my top 100 films of all-time and this review makes me believe it will remain in the top 100 Blu-ray's of all-time as well.

Overrated? Nah I would just say it has a strong cult following. Overrated fits more with a film like Transformers. And by the way Nate there is a mistake in the review it says it was released November 17th, 2008. I am also shocked at how poorly it did at the box office that is insanity. Seeing movies people barely remember making more than it did in 1999 makes me die inside.

shit, i changed the date on it, but not the year, as i used the german imp as a template here on the sidebar and review itself. thanks, will fix.

1999 was one of the best years in cinema history, in my opinion. definitely the best year since then, no year has had any better. fight club is one of the more UNDERRATED films of the year, a box office disaster that has become a home video staple, a true word of mouth financial success in the aftermarket, really.

1999 was a good year, with two of my favorite films in Eyes Wide Shut, The Thin Red Line. I think the true art of making films died off years before that, but the phrase 'they don't make them like they used too' seems to repeat itself every 10 years or so.

Fight Club is one of those films that never forget. Love it or hate it, you sure as he'll won't forget a minute of it. Everything about it is engrossing, with outstanding proformances.
