After a suggestion from Ross we have decided to set up this thread - its a show us your Post Apoc factions and gangs. This is a sticky thread. The rules are as follows: 1. Write some blurb about the gang/faction fluff, origin/conversion of the minis and what inspired this faction. 2. No more than 1 post reply per gang/faction. 3. A picture of the faction should be included. 4. No more than 3 pictures of the gang/faction to be included in the post. 5. If you change the gang/faction and want to update the thread then edit your original post and change text/pics as desired. Have fun and I look forward to seeing your gangs and factions! |

Okay - I will chip in the first one. This is the Pictsie Clan. These guys are fearsome tribals from the northern wastelands and forests. They love to fight, drink and steal. The pictises are known by thier tartan clothes, orange hair and blue war paint & tatoos. They fear nothing and are extratough (no psychology tests for these guys). One wierd thing about the tribe is they already think they are dead and this is some sort of Vahalla - hence the drinking and fighting. The Pictises are a pain for the cities to the south. Bittannia Bunker City is at constant war with them and Squeena city has a shoot on sight policy. ![]() The minis are a mix. In the main they are EM4/old grenadier future warriors. The faction is inspired by the Disc Worlds Nac Mac Feegles - another of Terry Pratchett's creations! |

Prester John's holy Crusade: After the collapse of civilisation, various groups set themselves up with rather black and white worldviews, as a security against the chaos around them. One such group gathered around Prester John, They have churches set up in some settlements and wander the wastes between converting the masses. This can be anything from true conversion for the charismatic preaching of Prester John, through to forced baptism (by waking over fire), through to abucting children to be taken back to the Temples of Faith for instruction and bringing up in The Way of the Righteous. They will ally themselves with anyone willing to pay a donation as long as they will follow the cause. ![]() Here we have Michael (a wandering adventurer), along with Bob the Baptiser and last but not least Prester John. ![]() And here are a few brethren forming a bodyguard for Prester John on one of his missions; for some strange reason People don't always respond well to his missions. The models are all Citadel, with Michael being heavily converted, and Prester John is an old Chaos Sorcerer, the others are Bretonian Battle Pilgrims |

The Warriors of the Crooked Cross (or the Skins): The Warriors of the crooked corss are a bunch of Neo Nazi skinheads. It is not known where they got their ideas - they cant have found a copy of Mien Kampf as they cant read. The skins are pretty much into beating anyone who dont fit their Aryan ideals and following the philosophy of hate suits them fine. Mutants have a harder time when the Skins roll into town. The gang are nomadic - spreading the hate and cleansing the world of sub humans. It has been noticed that thier ideals are very similar to that of Aryanreich - the mysterious bunker city where only elite troops go beyond its walls. Some claim that the gang is funded and might have even been brainwashed into following the Nazi code. ![]() This gang was created as a set of universal bad guys who hate pretty much everyone. They may on occasion support Aryanreich units (who follow a similar code of hate). The minis are in the main EM4/Grenadier Savages with the mohaeks and fur shaved off. There is a Hasslefree Grant and a Prince August Future Shock ganger minus the mohawk. I also added a sword when the baseball bat snapped off. |

![]() New Gomorrah's War-Hound Legion (The 2nd Elite Legion) The 2nd Elite Legion of Gomorrah, also known as Wardogs/hounds, or 'Das Krieghunds', form the bulk of Gomorrah's military power. Most of Gomorrah's populace consists of 'liberated' slaves, who are given the option to live a civilian life, or serve in a military/police position. Numbering in the tens of thousands, this small squad is very uncharacteristic: They have M-27 Assault Rifles with an underslung 40mm grenade launcher, whereas most troopers are equipped with M3A1 Grease Guns, or other easily-maintained sub-machineguns. This odd weapon configuration gives these lucky troops the ability to act as a mobile, short-range mortar teams, while giving them solid short to mid-range fire from their rifles. 40mm 'Beehive' shrapnel canisters are often loaded into the grenade launcher, turning it into a fearsome close-combat weapon. In regards to armor, very little is 'regulation'. Scavenged metal plates are used to roughly craft a suit covering most vital areas, with armored paint-respirators and other easily scavenged filtration devices used as gasmasks. The one unifying feature shared between all of the 2nd legion are the dark, roughly made gray fatigues they all wear over their body armor. As a military force in the North American Wasteland, they are top-notch in regards to training, morale, and equipment. They are seen as expendable troops by the heads of Gomorrah, however, being outranked by the 1st Elite Guard Legion. There is a fierce jealousy of the 1st: they have the best equipment, armaments, training, and the favor of both Misha Demchenko (The High Kommandant), and Karl Reutger Jormund (The Founder of Gomorrah). Despite their expendable nature, and lack of favor from their leaders, they are a high-morale force, greatly loved by the populace, with a very high success rate. (More so than the 1st, whose predatory stance, cold, calculating nature, and general wolf-like qualities unnerve the citizenry.) These dudes are Mutant Chronicles: Warzone plastic Imperial Army Trencher Regulars. Edited by Dimitri, Jun 24 2009, 08:38 PM.

The Khan's Dogs of War After Civilization collapsed in the nuclear firestorm it unleashed itself, man soon realized, that under all those civilized values and behavior still lay a savage animal. When the marauding bands of Neo-Barbarians began to take over the countryside, settlements were largely isolated from each other and the last hope to get humanity back on track perished. Khan, the Warlord of the Wasteland, formed one of the most powerful and brutal gang of Road Warriors in what once was Texas. His crude Warrior code is simple: Respect strength, take what you need from the weak. The Khan and his Warriors with their rig - a powerful machine, capable of pursuing even the fastest prey. No one can escape - the Khan rules the Wasteland! ![]() When he is not pillaging with the boys, the Khan enjoys the simple pleasures of his throne room in some underground complex, somewhere in the Wasteland. ![]() The miniatures are GW Goliaths from Necromunda, the Khan is a conversion of various GW bits. The inspiration is of course the Humungus' horde in Mad Max 2. |

Stella's Action Gurlz! After the bombs fell, a scapegoat was needed to blame for the shattered civilization. Since men were the majority in the ruling class, the military and the upper levels of corporate America, they were an obvious choice. The girls are convinced that men are to blame for the war and for the ongoing brutality in the wasteland. The Patriarchy needs to go, so humanity can live in peace and harmony! What better way to achieve this goal, than forming an armed band of raiders? The future - if there is one - is female! Stella's gang in its entirety ![]() The Action Gurlz get ready to wage war against the remnants of the Patriarchy. Those vile, brutal men need to be killed, so the kind and nurturing female nature can bring us all bliss! Logic, it has to be said, is not their forte... ![]() Miniatures are GW Escher Gangers. The inspiration came from the Feminist man-hating lunatic wing

The Lutheran Adventist Militia Even before the war, there were those christian congregations, which were convinced the end would come soon. In order to be prepared, they built themselves shelters, so they could survive the inevitable and then serve the lord in the final battle against the antichrist. The Apocalypse came as they had expected, but there is still no sign of the Lord - proof, that there is work to be done! So many degenerates need to be cleansed and don't forget the mutants, who are so full of sins that the Lord could not stand the thought of them being created in his image and decided to twist their appearance. The Lutheran Adventist Militia is not overly aggressive towards those humans who lead their lives comparably peacefully and often they help other people against those vermin who ravage the wasteland. However convince them that you are a sinner beyond redemption (which is pretty easy) and they will stop at nothing to hunt you down. Upon hearing rumors of giant mutants attacking settlements in the south, the started their journey to ex-Texas. Surely the final battle against the forces of darkness is near! The Lutheran Adventist Militia ride into battle. ![]() ![]() Ready to fight the good fight! ![]() Miniatures are converted GW Imperial Guardsmen. I figured a PA Setting needs fundamentalist lunatics. Vault 23 Before the war, the Texan state government enacted Project Alamo - a network of underground Vaults paid for from oil revenues to ensure the survival of the American way of life after a nuclear exchange with the Soviet Union. The Plan was to seal in the Elite of the state along with as many civilians as possible, and let them sit out the worst of the after effects. About 20 years after the nuclear war, the Project's central Vault in Austin would send the order to leave the Vaults and organize the effort to reclaim the land and get America back on track. That signal, however, never came due to Vault 0 taking a direct hit by a nuclear ICBM. 50 years have now passed since the war and the inhabitants of Vault 23 are getting nervous. Cut off from the other Vaults when Austin was hit, they have to assume the worst. Now their Vault, which never was intended to stay sealed for this duration, is showing alarming signs of deterioration. Reluctantly, the Overseer sent out Scouts to assess the situation in the wastes - none of which returned. With time pressing, he assembled heavily armed Exploration parties to gather intel and perhaps make contact with those Wasteland dwellers who have not given in to homicidal lunacy. A Vault Explorer Party poses in front of their Ford F-90 armored scouting vehicle. ![]() Heavily armed, NBC-protected - give it your best shot, wasteland warlords! ![]() The Troopers are Warzone Cybertronic guys with some weapon conversions, the chick is from Reaper. |

Thank you for the kind words ![]() The Lady is a conversion. The basic model is the rocket launcher woman from GW's Schaffer's last Chancer set. I sculpted the hair myself and gave her the sword arm instead of the rocket launcher. The Father and his army Cornelius McGrath was one of the first children born inside Vault 23 after it locked down. Always having been a very curious child, it came as no surprise when he later on became a scientist and luckily, some top-notch scientists were among those confined in the Vault. Life in the Vault unfortunately was dull, so Doc McGrath started experimenting in his free time - soon Vault Dwellers who had come to see the doctor for everyday illnesses such as the flu, showed signs of various experiments gone wrong. It was soon determined that the Doctor was at fault for this and when confronted he was unapologetic, going into a tantrum about the ridiculousness of the Overseer's ethics. It was quickly decided to exile the Doctor and his staff. In the wastes and upon seeing the misery of birth defects and radioactive contamination, the doctor set out to find a cure for the human genome - a true challenge for his mind at last! His experiments with a serum to strengthen the human genome against the infested wasteland turned out...unexpected results. The Doctor was able to mutate the human DNA into stability but at a price: His 'cured' patients barely resembled human beings anymore... The Doctor concluded that it was indeed the human genetic make-up, which was the underlying sickness and decided to make a giant leap in evolution by pushing aside humanity and replacing it with his children as the new dominant species on the planet. The Doctor and his staff: ![]() (The Father is a Darkson WWW2 mad Scientist, the guy on the left is an old converted GW commissar, the guy on the right is some historical de Gaulle mini with a head-swap.) Minor mutants, the result of the earlier experiments. Those creatures can withstand the toxic environment of the wasteland, but they did not use the full potential of the serum... ![]() (Converted GW Space Orcs and Warzone zombie-ish troopers) Super Mutants - mankind's next step in evolution, according to the Doctor. ![]() (These are converted Warhammer Ogres.) Highwaymen With law and order being a dream of a long lost past, people rely on bounties to get justice. Some people might want to argue that the cure is almost as bad as the disease and they would be right. The Western Texas Highwaymen looted an old Highway patrol station and had an idea... Pretend to be cops and see how many free drinks and innocent girls it would bring them. For a while, people freely gave them supplies, believing that those men were their saviors. Of course nothing could be further from the truth, as the fooled people soon realized. Nowadays, the Highwaymen patrol the Wasteland, looking for criminals in order to collect the bounty - needless to say that when money is tight, all those innocent travelers start looking an awful lot like wanted criminals... The only reason why there is no bounty on their head is that they are peaceful compared with all that other vermin roaming the wastes. The Highwaymen and their pursuit vehicle ![]() Miniatures are all converted GW Imperial Guard miniatures. Visually they are inspired by the Police in the movie Mad Max and the non-punk baddies in Mad Max II. I also liked the idea of the Postman con-artist ![]() This concludes my Factions. Smugglers Guild- Armed to the teeth and more organised than many typical gangs, these bandits roam Nu London's numerous ruined buildings and disused subways, looting anything of worth or usefulness while gunning down anyone else who gets too close to their spoils. They'll carry out contracts for those who can pay them but are ultimately loyal only to themselves. Five old Void minis with three given new hats to break up the samey crew cut look the basic marines all had, along with a Necromunda ganger, a newer Heresy trenchcoat ganger and a Street Violence cowgirl. I think the converted hat guys have come out quite nicely, the guy in the backwards cap looks like a teen handed an assault rifle. |

Wasteland Foxes- Currently Nu London's sexiest, most successful and dangerous all girl gang. Their main specialty is for a girl or two to use their feminine wiles to make some sucker drop his guard before the girls relieve him of any valuables and leave him dying in the street. They are handy in a firefight too, and have a deadly minigun user for support. Ooh, a whole mix here. A few Copplestone babes with guns along with a Hasslefree chainsaw chick, a Necromunda juve, a Rezlution schoolgirl painted as a teen goth/emo and the minigun lady is another Void character. |

Bandits The roads of the Zone are unsafe to travel. Anomalies, mutants and radiation stalk the unsuspecting Stalker who wanders too far away from the Cordon. Among the chief dangers for the aspiring newbie are the Bandits, outlaws who have fled the Outside society and its laws to hide out in the Zone. Merely a nuisance for the experienced Stalker, they are, nonetheless, very dangerous to the aspiring Newbie. Most bandits lack proper protective masks or decent armour. They are usually armored with AK-74U's or shotguns, though a few have gotten their hands on RPG-7's, RPK machineguns and even lower-end sniper rifles! ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us Bandit Close-Ups: ![]() By golan2072 at 2010-09-05 ![]() By golan2072 at 2010-09-05 Edited by Golan2072, Sep 17 2010, 11:38 AM.

Dreadnought Company With society collapsing around them after the nuclear exchange, those law enforcement and military personnel who weren't lynched by angry mobs blaming any government representative they encountered for the destruction around them, had to come up with some survival strategy. Dreadnought Company - a ruthless mercenary force - is one of the results of that situation. Equipped with state of the art weaponry and out of a functioning employer, Law Enforcement and National Guard officers founded the Company shortly after the War, offering their services to anyone willing to pay.
