Hey ! wanted to start painting the last dozen, or so, Z's. I 've been painting them up all differently to get some variation cause some of the poses are identical. But then I thought, a bit late, what if I could change there positions ? I used to change my toy soldiers as a kid using a lighter. So I thought doing the same but luckily I researched some on youtube and found a safer solution using hot water. Put a cup of water 2 min. at 1000watt in a microwave. That's too hot to drink but not boiling. Keep the mini submerged for about 20 sec. using pliers or pincet. Get it out and hold for about 20 sec in required position, or put it under cold water tap so it cools and sets even faster. If you don't like the new pose, no prob, just hold it back again in the hot water and it will automatically return to it's original shape. ![]() I could do several figures in one cup, if too cold I popped the water in the micro for an other minute and was ready to go again. This was such an easy trick that I did all of them, also the painted ones. Not the inked ones though cause they are not varnished yet. Look at the big guy's on the right. I could even change there facial expression somewhat. ![]() If I painted up the last batch... time for a group portret ! |
