I love how it comes apart. Is it one building or a whole district?

That's the thing with junk builds, they don't start to come together until the paint goes on. Often if it down to the vision of the artist until that point.

Well ...

it 's designed as 1 big building but it has to come apart mainly cause of stockage reasons.
Plus is that, like this, it can be used as 5 separable pieces of scenery also.
The side towers could f.i. be used as a 'magic' gate or escape pods or...

It was only after priming black that I noticed that the balconies needed some more detailing.
I still had some of the rubber mats bought at a craft store, this one had a wavy pattern.
Cut and glued these to the balconies.

I painted it by now, a bit of a hasty job I admit...

I'll try to post some pics tomorrow.

Ciao !

The primer is making it hang together as a build now. Funny how a solid color can unify a build.

The mat detail looks great. Inspiring stuff.

So here you have it,

together with some off the earliest 40K buildings I ever made, must be 5 years ago or so... time flies when you are having fun !

I also repeated the colour scheme of back in the days. Must be one of the most cliché color schemes ever, typical Matt black primer, some light grey dry brushing (in my case added a pinch of blue) and finished of with some gold/metal topping.

it is indeed part of the imperial (rich) district of my P.A. world. Like the house of a consul, not yet the palace of the emperor.

So the side towers can be detached then this 'stub', which looks like a salt shaker,is exposed, it helps the towers stand firm.
(The 'salt shaker' is actually a vacuum lid I found on a fresh pizza dough packaging)

I messed around with changing the top floor. I would not do this on the game table cause these parts are not secured. But it does inspire me to maybe some day adept some pieces so I could switch top parts if I wanted to.

Warlord, I agree how a "junk box" construct, and many other styles of builds are pull together with an application of primer.

Tanx !

I may not be the best but I proud myself that I deliver each time.
I had a professional training, and have experience, in a.o.theatre scenery, guess that helps.
Really having fun at what you do also helps a big deal,
and that is also thanks to you guy's.

I know a fellow that does build excellent Mordheim terrain and he is a Set Designer in local theater.

How durable is the Tin Foil Embossed designs? Will they take bumps without bending up??

Well Tinker,

depends how you use the foil. If you glue it to a flat sturdy surface there will be very little problems afterwards. (and as mentioned before it is a thickish variety of foil, not the thin one you wrap around sandwiches)

But... for extra safety measures, when I glue the foil to my scenery I put some extra hot glue into the back of raised surfaces for extra support.

In this recent build I used left overs from the time I decorated the door of my atelier/gardenshed in the same technique.

I use that door a lot, never noticed anything, and did not use hot glue or other stuff to support either.

Yes, you have answered the question of if the Tin Foil needed support, without my asking that detail :)
