Finally I have got some miniatures finished. Hopefully my groove is coming back.

Out on the Western edge of the ruins of Matt Black City Vault 22 has opened. The dwellers have chosen to remain in the vault but now send scouting parties out in the ruins of the mega city looking for anything the vault can use.

Meanwhile on the other side of the ruins a Technomancer goes to work in his workshop in Wastetopia. Found any old tech you need to trade or fix then this is the guy for you. He is a bit stingy on trades though.

Wanderers are common in the in post apocalyptic wastelands of Matt Black God's world. Many are insane or running from their past. This Wanderer, Max suffers from both. Still he is a handy gun to hire and is a skilled driver. This means he is popular with those who need a dirty job doing.

Here is Immortan Trump, the leader of New Sodom City (NSC). Since arriving in the ruins of MBC the Immortan has restarted his war against Liberty City. NSC has started raiding Liberty City supply & trade convoys. He is also raising suspicions about Utiopa's presence in the ruins.

Out in the wastelands don't trust anyone, not even little girls.

This little girl is probably a cannibal. The figure is a OOP Hetzerdog Babylons Burning Ghoul miniature. I was digging through a old box of zombies and found her. She had her base tidied up.

Mini painting is going slow, the Nu Necromunda Eshers have been slow going.

For a break I decided to paint up a free figure Foundry sent me when I ordered paint...

A new guy for the wasteland meat grinder.

I think he's from the Wargames Foundry "Darkest Africa" Zanzibari Arab Slaver range; Mark Copplestone sculpted them way back when he still did stuff for WF. I've been looking at their Victorian/Edwardian Civilians with a thought to backdating the Apocalypse to the late 19th or early 20th Century - VSF, sort of...

Great job on the musket guy. Its something I wish more manufacturers would bring out. Its what appealed with the Crooked Dice Wasteland Warriors is that two were melee fighters one had a bolt action rifle and one had an automatic weapon.

Any thoughts Moramarth to the cause of the Victorian Apocalypse? Maybe a Mad Doctor stole and used one of Tesla's inventions...

Tink, I have a lot of ideas (!) but I'll try to keep this short as I don't want to hijack our esteemed Warlord's thread.
You may recall the movie "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" was based (very loosely) on the first volume of a series of graphic novels of the same name. The second volume of these covers the involvement the League in the events of H.G.Wells' "War of the Worlds" and is a very dark tale. In particular the "Martians" (they're not!) are not susceptible to normal earth bugs but are killed by a biological weapon (H-142) devised by Verne's Dr Moreau which also causes massive collateral casualties amongst surviving people in the area.
Max Brook's "The Zombie Survival Guide" together with the illustrated "The Zombie Survival Guide: Recorded Attacks" provide a partial listing of outbreaks of his "Solanum" virus throughout history, but none of these is a pandemic.
I think it is possible to combine the two to provide a nice apocalypse around 1898. While "H-142" is a hybrid bacterium made from a mixture of anthrax and streptococcus, what if instead it was a modified version of the "Solanum" virus? Rendering the Martians brain-sucking morons unable to utilise their advanced technology would negate their military advantage, and if the weaponised "Solanum" had a dormant period in humans it's hazards might not be recognised until it had been widely deployed.
I don't recall Well's indicating the Martians landed anywhere other than in south-east England, and it does seem a logical point for an initial bridgehead. As haemophages the Martians would naturally attempt to secure the largest concentrations of nutrition first and at that time London was the biggest city in the world containing around 4.5 million "Happy Meals on Legs" (as Spike once put it). It is therefore logical to assume subsequent assaults would target other urban concentrations in order of size: New York, Paris, Berlin, Vienna, Chicago, Edo (Tokyo), St. Petersburg, Philadelphia, Moscow, Calcutta, Peking, Osaka, Buenos Aries, Constantinople, Rio de Janeiro, Bombay, and Glasgow. That should give a reasonable dispersion to most continents except Africa, Australia and Antarctica, with the first two susceptible to infection from refugees from Europe (hardest hit and with access to means of travel).
Finally, the Martians might have brought some "bugs" of their own with them, not too virulent but maybe causing interesting mutations among terrestrial life forms. All this might be enough to delay recovery in the hardest-hit regions, particularly if some of the social forces at work at the time sought to prevent the re-establishment of the status quo ante.

Regards,

M

Just got into town and have a injury? Rad sickness maybe? Perhaps your party is planning a daring trip into the wastelands? Then go see Doc Sawbones, the best (and only) Doctor in the wastelands.

The figure is by Copplestone miniatures. I am a huge fan of Mark Copplestone's sculpts. There is enough detail to make them interesting but not too much to make them too busy to paint.

I have had this figure painted up for a few weeks now. The base needed finishing.
