I've started work on an abandoned gas station to use in my post-apoc gaming. It is all styrene plastic and is based on an actual building.

Heres a couple of pics:

And one of the inspiration:

There are a few more pics of day by day progress on my blog:

I'm going to age it a bit more than that in the photos, put it in a more arid setting, and modify the lot to fit my modular terrain, so that it will be a better fit for my post apoc games.

Thanks for looking.

Thanks guys!

Thought I'd have it finished last weekend, but only got part of a day to work on it until yesterday. It's coming along. Wanting to get it done, so that I can build the base for it, and build some post-apoc highway sections. Here's an updated photo.

The busted tile is a great idea and one I have rarely seen used.

Wow, very very very nicely done !

At the start I thought it looked to clean and paper like.
But you sure did get it finished realistic.
On your blog you asked how the roof originally would be like.
My guess is that it would have been zinc covered (that 's how they used to do flat roofs in this part of the world some decades ago) so this would lead to some sort of grey, I suppose.
Or that it would be covered in bitumen, and that case, would turn out to be some sort of black.
But I must say that the white roof does not bother me at all.

Ace job !

Fantastic! If you get your camera working I'd like to see more close up shots of the inside rooms.

Thanks for the comments guys, much appreciated.

Bobscene, thanks for the input regarding the roof. Once I get some other buildings done, I may revisit the roof depending on the overall appearance of the table.

I'm finally cutting foam for the base today, picked it up this week, but just haven't found time to work on it thus far. I have some time off this week, so expect to make progress on the base and my abandoned highway. Then I can finally get a couple of games in.

Finally got the base done for my gas station. I was working on it along with the highway sections, and finished the other bits for it today, so here are a couple of pics:

Looks great! I would perhaps add some tufts or moss or something just to make it seem more abandoned. Its a big feature of a lot of abandoned buildings I've noticed around where I live.

Yeah, it needs some weeds and whatnot. Originally I was going to add some adhesive backed tufts of grass, but the local shop sold out of brown/yellow/burnt green when I checked, and then couldn't get it in so close to X-mas. I'll probably go back and dress it up a bit, when I get a chance to pick some up.
