The first stages of this WIP can be found HERE. This thread-split is due to my inability to tell the difference between “Vehicles” and “Vehicles WIP”. I'll keep my WIPs here and finished products (man, I hope I finish one!) there.

Chop Shop: temporary assembly with blu-tack

I finally got my hands on a jewelers saw and hacked the cab off of the Matchbox Speed Shop and, to my joy, the Bone Shaker's ass-end fit perfectly into the hole left by the Speed Shop's cab (there's a terribly immature joke there somewhere, I'm sure). No more chopping necessary, just a little filling on the back of the Bone Shaker's cab and it sat exactly where I needed it. I had to cut the exhaust pipes off the engine and shave the skeleton hands a bit to get it to fit in the fenders as well as some judicious filling on the running boards to get a flush fit, but I'm quite happy with how it sits.

Now I have to figure out what I want to do for exhaust. I'm torn between two classic big fuck-all pipes of rust and chrome coming out the back from the under-carriage or two stacks to either side of the cab to give it a more trucky feel. I guess that will come down to what kind of parts I can find.

I had bought a batch of 100 defective action figure weapons off of eBay and found that a night vision scope on one of the rifles would make a good siren. So I clipped it off and sanded it down. It's a bit large, but I kinda like it. I'm intending on getting some red and clear stick-on jewels and put them on the front of the fog lamps to make the ambulances emergency light flashy things (what are those things called anyway?)

It's probably quite obvious that the gun cupola is, so far, just an old ring from a key-chain. The gun is the barrel and a bit from one of those defective action figure weapons, flipped upside down, and carved up a bit.

The front bumper is the blade from a sword from the a-fore-mentioned weapons pack with a couple of strips cut from an old Kinko's card to attach it to the vehicle (well, the blu-tack is actually doing that right now, but you know what I mean). Originally I wanted to make it look like the skeletal hands were holding some blades out in front of the ambulance but I couldn't find a way to make that look like anything other than pure comedy so I pared that idea way down.

The two struts holding the back bumper bar were made from the Kinko's card as well, just bent. The bumper bar itself is a bit snipped off of a sucker stick.

All in all, I'm really digging how it's coming along. Next, I need to cut a hole in the back roof for a figure to sit down into the cupola. I'll probably use some more cut-up Kinko's card to make an open hatch lid there as well, to finish the look. After that, I guess I'll use a bit of epoxy putty to fill in the gaps between the cab and the back box which will also fuse the two pices together nicely. And then…? After which, profit!

A… Camaro?… Pontiac?… El Camino?… truck?… thing.

This came with a Hot-Wheels big-rig I picked up with the intent of converting into gnarly gas truck which will be hijacked by dusty punks naturally.

El Camponino (I need a better name for this thing) drilled, stripped, and gutted.

My plans are still foggy on this one. It's definitely going to be some kind of tow-truck but not much idea beyond that at this time.

2010 Ford Shelby Mustang

Just picked this one up. I was looking for something a bit more classic, but I haven't seen hide nor hair of a classic 'stang or any mustang besides this one, and my idea demands a Mustang. While the idea is still foggy, I have a theme thought out for it and a name: it will be some kind of post apocalyptic mail delivery vehicle and it's name shall be…

Wait for it…

The Pony Express! Yup, that is the totality of the idea so far and yup, it's corny as hell, but that is all the more reason to do something with it.
