The groaning was getting louder. That, and the pounding of fists on the door & walls. From his position behind an upturned table, Rick Kurtz checks the revolver. An ex-marine, still with a reasonable shape, he's on the wrong side of 40 with tinges of grey in his hair and a few extra pounds weight from his prime. The .357 magnum revolver he took off the dead cop at the intersection only has 4 rounds left in the chamber, although there were another 15 in his pouches. 19 rounds. Man that sucks. Sliding another 2 rounds into the cylinder, he snaps it closed and cocks the pistol rapidly as the groaning seems to be getting louder. "So, who feels like trying not to die today?" he enquires of the handful of other survivors in 'Big Als No.1 Dinner' |

"Er.. I-I-I w-w-would" stammered the wimp in the horn rimmed glasses and cardigan, holding his hand up as he timidly hunched behind a table. His badge on his chest said "Head Librarian Junior Library - Walter" with a smiley face. He had slipped in with some others and had gone unnoticed until then. He clutched a briefcase to his chest. Besides looking a bit dishevelled, he looked like he had just stepped from work. |

Rick smiles grimly as he slips the spare rounds into the pocket of his leather jacket, and moves the wallet which had previously occupied the pocket into one of the calfpockets on his ex-army combat trousers. "Ok Walter - I'm guess that you ARE Walter? Can you fight or have you got a weapon? Come to that, anyone else got any weapons?" |

"I...think that we can rip off some old boards from the tables...." Stammred a 16 year old behind the counter. Dressed in Jeans, A New York Baseball hat, and a light green hoody, he slowly emgred. In his hands he had a Kitchen Kinfe, taken from the kitched. He had arived there when a cop tha had given him a ticket for speeding. Thhats when he heard the groaning. Sprinting on out of there, he did'nt even think twice about the cop. When he saw a crowd of other peolpe heading for the dinner, he sequzzed on in before the peolpe inside locked the doors. "So, what we going to do? There coming for us." |

Rick laughs "Rick Kurtz - let me help you with that table" Sticking the revolver into the wasteband of his comabts, he grabs hold of the other table edge and helps Foster move it ontop of the one blocking the door. "As for weapons - I wouldn't try using that thing if I was you Walter. Go have a look inthe kitchen, see what knives they've got - bring 'em all. Oh, and a fire axe - if they got one." Turning to 'Big al' the cafe owner - "You got a gun in here pal?" |

Big Al nods glumy. Reahing under the counter he produces a pump action shot gun. His place had been robbed several times before he bought "Annie". Rummaging under the counter he also produces a old metal baseball bat and a a couple of boxes of 12 gauge cartridges. He starts loading them in the shotgun. "Anyone want the bat?" he asked the terrified people. |
