So here are the other (repaired) bits of the Stalker terrain set that sufferers from the Cursed Terrain!!

They make a nice abandoned Industrial terrain set. I have salvaged enough to from the cursed terrain piece to make another two or possibly three CDs worth of similar styled terrain. All I have to do is find my Hot Glue Gun Sticks! :catch: Hopefully it will make a good themed set.

Here is where these bits are up to. They are in mid paint.

I am undecided about what signage I should do for them. I am tempted to keep Stalker style markings on them. But then English is readable. Then there is the temptations of making signs in Chinese or Japanese letters.

The other bits for this set will be along in a built form later this week, I hope! :D

Finally a sign...

Made from a Xbox subscription card, some cottonbud stems (Qtips to some) and a bit of foamboard. I have to print off a sign for it. Strange thing is it already looks like a advert for COD Modern Warfare 2 (which I suppose it is!). :D

I agree with Ross, Nice sign.

Love the shapes on those bottles they look like industrial filters seen on a few American buildings.

Let's see now, you have built 71 items to my... lost my list... nope, there is no list... so, I've built none!! :frustry:

More of the same. Yakult bottles, plumbers solder as pipe work, some press cast barrels, a big yellow thingy from a kids toy, odd n ends from the bits box and CDs as bases. They just need some paint now.

Those of you who pay attention will have read that I am starting a Sci-Fi city. It will be shiney with lots of advertising. The builds will be in the style of the old Rouge Trader models - ie bits of cheap and recycled junk, so no change there then! :D

First Hab building. The silver spray you see will be masked when I spray them proper. The intention is to make mirrored windows in a high tech fashion. The tops need more detailing. I will keep the bottom rim from the lid as it looks like a crash barrier. I am tempted to paint it in an industrial fashion to contrast with the rest of the building.

Posted Image
The Second Hab. This is the same as the other. The base is a plastic tub that Rocky Road chunks came in (Mrs Warlord's current favourite cake thingy). The top is a couple of plastic bowls. I got a set of 4 for £1. The door is simple cereal packet cardboard. I will do a tutorial for making these when I get a minute. They are fairly easy. The control panel came from Blackcat bases. I got some resin fans from ebay, they add a little detail to the top.

Posted Image
This will either be another Hab or a Trader of some description. I am undecided. Same bottom base with a coffee mate can on top. I added a small fan I ripped out of a PC to the top. Those plastic lids cut up really easily.

Starter for three.

Number four. I am thinking that this will either be a trader or a building to do with the towns infrastructure. The top is inviting a turret or large comms array.

Now is the fun part - detailing the blighters!

And just to show that you make models from old crap.....

A old margarine tub with cereal packet card accessories, the lid rim trimmed off, a balsa wood door and foamboard buttresses (scraps from the bin). It needs a little filling and paint.
This will serve my PA world but will also turn up in those frontier towns in my Space Opera.

I like seeing your detailing process because after painting the illusion is locked into my head so it becomes difficult to realize how simple it actually is...

I have been knocking together some bits to go with these. Sadly painting has been stalled due to the non stop rain we have been having. The British Summer, you cant beat it!

These bits will go on the tops of the buildings as atmospheric scrubbers or some other sci-fi thingumgy.
Posted Image
They are plastic rolls from ticket rolls. I got them from a guy on Terragensis years ago. I glued them to a fancy lipped base and glued two more together to make tops. A plastic counter covers the top. Smaller plastic tubes from old paint brushes and lollipop sticks make up the addition pipes. I am tempted to add some sort of data panel to them and use them as a power generator of some description or telecoms unit. Thinking about it they could even be used as teleporters or spawning point.

Posted Image
A shampoo bottle top (yes we do use it!) that will make a nice hatch or Air Con cover on top of a building.

Posted Image
I plan on painting this yellow or red. I am thinking some sort of fuel store. I may fit some sort of hatches or pipework to the top. This will be used as street terrain.

Posted Image
Not to sure if I should use this as street terrain or fit it to a building. It could be an oxygen recycler or an oxygen store. I am wondering if I need to do another bits box dive to make more stuff. I also wonder if I should make up some Sci-Fi street boards too. The question would be proper streets or dirt ones?
