Hi everyone. I’ve been lurking this board for some time now and finally got around to registering. Just wanted to say howdy. I’m a huge fan of PA gaming and am actually involved in separate (although possibly in the same world) campaigns. I’ll tell you a bit about them. Junktown: A while back I threw together an ad hoc game using various figures. There were robots, mutants, orcs, zombies. I like PA gaming because it allows you to use pretty much anything you have. Anyway, the scenario was for a club game and it was sort of an old west style game in a sci-fi/post-apoc setting. The club enjoyed it so I started running more and a story sort of built up around it. I even put together a few newspaper editions of the ‘Junktown Crier’, as sort of an after action report and set up for subsequent games. The campaign is pretty much free-form with whatever I can come up with for the club. Currently I’m preparing, and have been for some time, a scenario I’m calling ‘Rat’s Drift’. In the scenario the 1st Army (a militant group of purists attempting to retake the Wastelands) has attempted to clear the ruined city of Oner of Rats (think Skaven). Unfortunately the 1st Army underestimated the Rat’s numbers and after initial successes are cut off from escape and are surrounded in a hastily prepared defensive position. For the Junktown campaign I’ve used Savage Worlds and No Limits rules. Currently I am a big fan of No Limits given it’s flexibility for adding house rules as needed. Slag Earth: This is a fairly recent campaign started by myself and a couple of buddies. Your PA gang warfare. We’re using No Limits with the Necromunda converted Road Warrior campaign rules developed by Torben Kastbjerg. Thanks Torben. We’ve only done a couple of battles but things are heating up. My gang the ‘Roadkillerz’ lead by the feared Jolly Rodger took a beating in the first fight, but they are still surviving. Thanks to the herculean effort put forth by one of my noobs named Bob over this past weekend, the Roadkillerz, or RKZ, are doing quite well. Bob even got a promotion and was given a gang name. He’s now Big Boy Bob. One of my greatest joys is making terrain, and making PA terrain is the best of all. Making PA terrain makes it okay to measure once and cut twice. Not a right angle? No problem, just slap on a bit of sheet metal or a wood post as a support. I’ve got quite a bit of terrain made and need to get caught up on some photos, but here is some of my stuff: These are some pics of the RKZ’s truck, the Southern Comfort. http://s81.photobucket.com/albums/j213/MACarper/Post-Apoc/ Here are some more pics of a few of my vehicles as well as a Junktown game. http://s81.photobucket.com/albums/j213/MACarper/Junktown/ Hope you all enjoy. I look forward to posting more stuff. I’m currently making another truck as well as a lot of barricades for the RKZ hide-out. Cheers! ~OD |

Thanks for all the compliments folks. Ramshackle_Curtis- It is a small world. Thanks for the link. I'll have to read through to steal...ummm...borrow some choice bits. Ross- Nope, not Aussie. Because of the 'Digger' handle I get that all the time. I'm an archaeologist by vocation. I do have more in the works. I'm working on a gang hide-out as well as a few firing platforms and, as always, more ruins. One can never have enough. I'll post some pictures when they're done. Tinker- I think I, or someone else from the game did post an AAR from a Junktown game. I'd post some of the Junktown Criers but they are in pdf. Not sure how to go about doing that. Here's an AAR from the first battle of the Slag Earth campaign. I've since renamed my gang, the Roadkill Dumpling Gang' to Roadkillerz. The gang felt the soft name was a contributing factor to their butt whoop'n. Also, since they are referenced in the AAR, pogs are the common currency. The short-lived fad from the 90s (or was it 80s?) had to have some value. So here tis: The Chronicles of Slag Earth By Kram Truk Kcid It wasn’t a week ago that a lone scavenger strolled into Haggle Rock carting a nice supply of scavenged goods that he promptly traded for a good number of pogs. Drunk that night, in one of Haggle Rock’s many bars, he revealed that he had stumbled across an abandoned ruins nestled in the Crags and away from any of the roadways. Hidden from view and out of sight, the ruins had been overlooked since the Great Fall. He had only found it because gangers had forced him off the roads and he had been lost. Word spread quickly and by the next morning several gangs began gearing up to find this lost treasure. As fate would have it, three gangs stumbled onto the ruins at about the same time; the Night Runners. The Camp Cuddly Pines (CCP), and the Roadkill Dumpling Gang (RDG). These three gangs had been warring for months and it didn’t take long before bullets started flying. Each gang entered the ruins, the Night Runners from the east, the CCP from the northwest, and the RDG from the south. The scavenger had been right. The ruins were packed with goods. Jolly Rodger, the leader of the RDG, always overly aggressive immediately charged into battle with the Camp Cuddly Pines, and took a few shots at the Night Runners as well. It wasn’t long before Jolly Rodger realized he had overextended himself, exposing most of his gang to danger. Within moments the CCP had killed his right-hand man, Grizzly Paul. His brother, Grizzly Pete is going to be none too happy about that. A young noob Named Ed joined Paul shortly after in the Great Slag Heap in the sky when a Night Runner ganger named Bessie ventilated him with her machinegun. Undeterred Jolly Rodger pushed on. Unfortunately he had failed to check his SMG. It was not loaded, and he found himself in a pickle. Another young noob, Uzi Suzi came to his aid and was rewarded with a chainsword to her chest, courtesy of the Night Runner leader Annie. Luckily her chest is…ummm…well padded. Old Doc Stitches says she’ll be good as new in a few days. After that Skuzz made a last ditch effort to take out those that had killed his friend, Grizz Paul. He was received a bullet to the face from the CCP Camp Coordinator, Meat Hardslab. He’ll live, but he won’t be winning any beauty contests. His nose, several teeth, and a fair amount of cheek are still out there on the ground. Fairly well pissed off with himself for forgetting to load his SMG, Jolly Rodger, charged into battle with a couple of Night Runners. Swinging his chain he bloodied up the head of Catmandu, the Night Runner 'bird-man'. The bird-dude had wounded Rodger with a swipe of his claws just before that. Cat is currently taking an Evelyn Wood speed-hearing course at Sludge Falls Community College. Shielded by a row of ruined buildings the Night Runners were able to cart off a great deal of goods. After thinning the RDG herd, the Camp Cuddly Pines were able to do the same. RDG was able to get a few things on their truck. Good thing too, they’ll need the cash to refill their ranks. There comes a point in every battle, where it is best to take what you’ve got and go. Such a time came for the three gangs. And wary of each other, they grabbed their wounded and dead and backed out of the ruins. |

Hiya Danny- I love the 'No Limits' rules. Very straight forward and easy to learn. I think they're based on Vor rules. They're D10 based and use action points per figure. They are well worth downloading. The Road Warrior campaign rules are basically a Necromunda campaign conversion (which I like very much) so they are worth downloading as well. I never did get any pictures of my Zed launcher, but a guy I game with some took some pictures of the launcher and a few other things during one of my games. Here's a link. http://s44.photobucket.com/albums/f23/Maksim-Smelchak/Gaming-2008/MWS_2-10-2008_/28mm-Junktown_2-10-2008-/ He did get a photo of my ruined department store 'McLovins' which I like very much. Cheers! |

Ha-ha-ha! Air Zed is ace! Whats the range on that launcher? I can see side games of a campaign with squads going to capure Zeds foe ammo! Mc Lovins is a great model - very falloutish. I like it a lot. Is it foamboard/foamcore? |

Thanks Dan. Yeah, Air Zed is a lot of fun. Nothing softens up a defensive position quicker than a zombie landing in its midst. McLovins and my other buildings are foamcore based. I toughen them up with wood rods, styrene facades, and wire mesh. No Limits rules give a firing advantage for elevated positions so these terrain pieces are always popular locations for gangers to hide in. |

Hi Od - welcome to this stretch of the wasteland. Those piccies look pretty darn good; and I heartily agree on the 'throw what ever you've got on the table and play' approach to gaming! You might like to try the skank rules set, as thats very much in that sort of attitude (there should be links in a couple of threads by now...) |
