Hey lads, got some time to do a couple of bits for my PA stuff. Thought it best to do a log (I just can't stay away :D ).

You might remember in Fallout 2 when you get those random encounters near New Reno and other 'city' maps there's usually a cross road with a few ruined walls littering the area. Well, quick and simple I put a couple together:

Just need the PVA to dry, undercoat and paint. They're a little bland, but they'll do the trick as interesting terrain blockers.

Stay tuned...

Gaming terrain doesnt need to be exciting, just make it strong! These look really the sort of thing you need in skirmish games anyway, more power to you!

Nice work Ross. Are they cork tile?

Cheers Curtis, I go on the theory that it's the little things that count. Some barren walls sets a scene, some barren walls with a busted up book shelf and a ragged bed sets another scene. These are 'designed' (or should that just be planned) to fit in with other smaller items to set the scene on the battle field.

Bingo Dan! After looking at Matakishi's site for ages now I'm tinkering with the old cork board to see how far I can go with it.

I like using the cork tiles. They are light and tougher than the old foamboard. I have one ruin made from it and it feels really robust.

And there's no need to texture them, you can spray them without them melting, they cut without having little beads floating around every where..... so many pro's, can't think of any cons.

I tend to go for carboard as a scenery making material. Its free, light and flexi. But we also have some cork bits in our home terrain set and they have stood up to plenty of punishment without breaking.

Alot of the bases for my older wargamming terrain is cardboard..... not good due to warping....

I should by rights get started on those three bits tonight after work, actually, I should get them knocked over tonight with a little luck.

Alright! Having a blast in my shed while I'm on holidays, making all sorts of things.

I had some leftover bits of Masonite after cutting out bases for trees, only little bits, but I found a way to fill them:

And I've done a piece of terrain that is reminiscent of a few PA like movies. The one thing that says to me 'end of the world, you should be sad,' is abandoned children's toys and playground equipment:

Very happy with this piece, just have to dirt it etc

Very cool looking terrian Ross. Nice use of cast offs and rubbish. I love the playground. I can see a terminator standing next to the wheel thingy! :D

Can't take credit for the idea, but I'm glad I finally got off my bum and did it! Only thing I'm missing is an old trike (screen shots of Fallout 3 ;) ).

Cool I can't wait to see them finished.
Then I will probably knick the idea.

Hehe, best thing about forums like these..... 'borrowing' ideas :D

I'm going to snap a few pickets, then base this stuff, but I'll have to wait for it to dry before painting. Might be next week at this rate :(

I'm in the process of painting another piece of rural wasteland terrain:

I'm thinking John Deer green, faded and rusted, a clump or two of brown plants to top it off.
