Why hello there, fancy seeing you guys here :)

I guess I'd best start some WIP's, and what better way than with some car madness!

Well, at least a bit of what's in store when I finish some other stuff.

I picked up some of these baby's from a model shop that is getting out of stocking Cararama. Cheap as chips (I'm tempted to buy up all their stock and chucking them onto Evilbay), but with a fantastic quality to them (real quality, not like the work bench :D ).

Any way, here they be, not sure on how I'll proceed yet though:

Hmm... buy more and ruin them for scenary - you can have those long lines of abandoned vehicles which seem to feature in most PA settings :D Those you've got, I'd say keep the mod's light and not too 'dark future' (mainly rust, damage, baggage & light mods - MG ccupola's on the 4x4's, possibly some mesh screens, but not too much more)

That's what I was thinking, with the light mods and rust effects.

Acres of abandoned cars....... Hoohoo baby, that will be cool.

Sounds like a plan ;)

I'm plotting this 'bridge filled with abandoned cars' idea too.....

Dissasemble the cars, then pound the die cast metal with a hammer!

Also, another good way to do bruned out cars is take the toy, wrap it in tinfoil. Carefully remove the foil and crumple it a little. then pour plaster into the foil mould. The crumpling looks just like real bent metal!

I'm thinking the foil/plaster is a great idea. I've seen it done online a couple of times and it looks great!

Went for a drive today, purchased a few more of the 1:43 Cararama series, looks like the wasteland is going to be an upmarket auto graveyard, Peugeot, Porsche, Alpha's, Mercedes.........

That's a shot of what I've amassed, less a couple of cars the kids absconded with. Plenty of body's to foil/plaster.

Damn shiny cars! All I want is to see streets filled with them with Shadowrunners duking it out or Super heroes/villains chucking them around...

I am looking forward to how these cars turn out.

Keep a couple of 4x4's for making some nice wasteland cruisers (esp the Landrovers). After all most of the cars wouldnt last more than a week or two without some nice black hardtop!

I could probably do that for you, pics and all. Give me a day or two.

Do you want side by side size references (ie beside GW stuff)?

I heard the Eureka figures were small 28mm so the bike would be too I presume?

Might not go too well with 1/43 vehicles, but I would love to see them with other figures... I have been really tempted myself.

The toy cars look really good for scenery. They do need some distressing though deninatley! Maybe throw them down some concrete stairs?

If you're in no rush to use them and want an easy-ish way to weather them you could bury 'em in the garden for a while... or crash 'em into bricks or something.

I'll be getting to them shortly. I'm almost on holidays and I've only a few models to do for a drinking tourney. Not too sure on which of the tricks suggested I'll try ;)

Eureka's 28mm is both big and small 28's. Some lines are closer to 25mm, some are almost Copplestone-ish size. The fact that they're realistic scale makes them look alot finer.

The 1/43's look a fraction big beside my current painted models, but they're smaller than the 'batmobile' wasteland car I'd made last year, some look perfect, some look a little odd. I'll just have to pick and choose when I do them up... or dress them down.

The newbies to the B29 wasteland need a ride, but there's ten of 'em so they'll need two rides.

And one day I'll do an after shot ;)
There's Land Rover and a Mercedes there. I'll be doing some work on them tomorrow I think.
