So there i was with the wife , knee deep in woman's clothing at the salvation army, when i spot it over in the corner, leaning against the wall. A 3X3 foot card table for $1.50 ! with haste i begin my journey to get my new gaming table. As i got a little closer I noticed it had a few rips , but it was cheap ;) everything else seemed solid, and the legs work fine so i bought it, with a roll of duct tape  . I will fix any rips with the duct tape, border off a 2x2 foot playing area and paint it black ! hopefully this works out like i see it in my head..... prolly no chance of that, but at least i wont have to play on a slightly warped piece of cardboard anymore :pipboy2:

Posted Image This is what i got so far. I think i will leave the outside unpainted duct tape. easy to keep clean :drunk:
Posted Image Some 28 mm beside the border
Posted Image some 15mm beside the border

I was thinking of adding some texture to the middle playing area, but i decided against it. I think flat black gives it more versatility.

Thanks for your time guys ! Comments and suggestions welcome. :pipboy2:

Very nice! I think that's plenty of space for 15mm. I like the containing wall with a separate area for your tokens and stuff.

A 2'x2' square is also the default size for 15mm scale games with the DBx and "Hordes of the Things" mass battle systems, so it's useful for other genres. Although I might have gone for dark grey, you can't fault black for the playing area - starship combat, anyone? The retaining wall will mean you can generate foot square or 6"x6" terrain modules and it will hold them together without Velcro or magnetics, useful if you make thick elements with features recessed into them (ponds, streams, open sewers, cellars of destroyed buildings, etc.). You can have a lot of fun with that setup.

Regards,

M

Some of the most memorable mini games I've played were on a card table!
