For me, I undercoat, then seal, then paint over the matte, I haven't had any problems at all with paint chipping, flaking or anything like that...unless I do something stupid like drop them from a height...

I like the fan, but think it could use some brown or bronze, at the minute it looks like a bunch of scavs dived into it while it was spinning, though if thats what you were going for...

Tried a little different method for a new set of tunnels. I want to make these stack-able for a multi floor effect. so I cut out a tunnel system from a piece of pink insulation . just got some rough paint on it and a few bits and pieces. I wanted more of a claustrophobic feel , so these tunnels are much more narrow. I feel like the walls should be a bit higher, but if i go any higher it gets fiddly to move the minis around... :frustry:

Still needs a ton of work, that cat litter is super white right now :yikes:
I still have 3 sheets of this, should i keep going in this direction or try something else?

Ideas and constructive criticism always welcome !

Looks great. If you have a map each of your tiles you can work the design of each of the new ones to make them a modular set. It makes it a little easier to expand the set in future.

I found similar issues with walls when I did a few test pieces for 15mm tunnels a while back. I never got to build a set. Maybe one day. I also found the same issue with 28mm tunnels. You need room to get your mitts in!

Give the cat litter a couple of black and brown washes. It should start to deepen the colour.

What a sad day for me ! I moved recently and just got to the boxes holding my terrain. Sadly 97% didn't make it intact ! all my modular tunnel terrain is to far gone to fix... I mourn. :banghead:
My wife took pity on me and picked up some foamcore so i could make more. So back to the drawing board, at least i have the experience making tunnels now, and hopefully can improve on some issues. :work:
Time to go see what i can cobble together !

Any suggestions, Ideas or constructive criticism always welcome :good:

I am sorry to hear of your loss. Time to act like a true wasteland denizen and try to salvage what bits you can.

Good luck in your new builds.

Starting to replace my tunnel terrain, got a few bits built today ! trying to really take my time and get all the measurements as close as I can  not to sure about how cluttered and destroyed to make it.I was also debating if i should make it mostly tunnels or bigger areas with lots of walls...I went the tunnels root with my last build. I plan on doing a lot more structure damage too , holes in the floors and walls, flooded areas, fire damage. :tnt: I always seem to have such big plans as I construct the first few pieces :jam:

Here is a hallway section I am working on. The doors are reversible, one side corrugated one side painted to look like a rusted thick bulk steel door, they just pop right out, so they are easy to use in barricade situations.

This is a 15mm mini. I wanted to get a different angle, but my batteries decided to die.

I am working on a decontamination room right now :radhaz: . Anyone have any ideas what else might be in an underground facility? Ideas, suggestions and constructive criticism always welcome :pipboy2:

No critisims, just compliments! Will you use magnets on the end pieces to keep the various tunnel portions together, or at the 15mm level that isn't a necessity?

I plan to use magnets, but i didn't on this piece ,the doors were just cut out of foam ,the size of hole that i needed , pops right in and out of the wall. :)

You're working quick and doing some inspirational work!

What is the floor grate made of?

The orange boxes are for medical specimens. Bits of tissue go in them and then they get put into a machine that chemically treats and dyes them and encases them in wax. Then technicians take the wax block out and shave it super-thin to make microscope slides. :good:

I cut one of those up to make various size grates :leather:

This is what i came up with. Gonna keep it fairly small so I can play on it sooner  It is on a 2x2 piece of foam board.still needs some washes and bits on the inside. and a lot of work on the outside board. Not sure if i should add smaller buildings too!
Posted Image

A 2x2 board seems the right playing size for me, I can reach every corner easily, and with 15mm this is plenty of room to run around, with no :tank: vehicles of course ! I guess the more i look at it, it isn't so much a tunnel system as it is a small bunker or compound...it's a start :run:

Great looking set. You are inspiring me to make my own. I should finish and repair my 28mm set first.

Beware building tunnels.....It is addictive. :P
