Several years ago, I bought a Grenadier Future Warriors Street Gang Car on an Ebay auction. It came with a very basic and fairly messy paint job, but everything was there. A few weeks ago I finally stripped, re-assembled and primed it: ![]() Originally, I thought I might use the salt masking technique and my airbrush, but I decided that would be to subtle for this model, which has major dents all over it. So I'm using the techniques from the Ramshackle Games tutorial, instead. First, I drybrushed with two shades of gray (VMC Black Grey and VMC Basalt Grey): ![]() Followed by a drybrush of this: ![]() Yeah, I know, Martha Stewart. But it's decent paint, inexpensive, and there are a ton of different metallic shades. So we have this: ![]() After the drybrushing, I applied multiple rust washes, using Ceramcoat craft paints. Which pretty much covered up all the drybrushing anyway :![]() From here, I used VMC Stone Grey to start laying down the "primer" layer. This is not the final color, but is to simulate the primer under the car's battered paint job. (I haven't decided the main color yet. Either yellow or blue). Here it is as it stands now: ![]() More pics to follow, as I get more done. |

It's actually an old school Terminator ripoff. It's a RAFM miniature- they had a line of not-Space Marines and not-Space Orks in the 90's. They were quite a bit cheaper than the GW models, but frankly, many of them are butt-ugly. The "Cyclone" one in the background of my pic is one of the less ugly ones, IMO. They even brought them back from the dead a few years ago: Rafm SF Miniatures Edited by Cosmotiger, Sep 11 2013, 05:35 PM.

I finished the car this morning, but no pics yet. I'll start a thread in the vehicles forum when I have some, probably on Saturday. |

Don't know how I missed this- Love the idea of the auto "primer" layer before adding the final color. |
