Up until now I've always been doing "vanilla" minis, but I fancied a go at doing something different. I took a couple of Heroclix, stripped the paint and tried some very simple conversion work, just to see if I could. Some results I'm happy with, some less so. Below are my three test subjects. This is originally a Daredevil figure, I simply cut off the small baton and replaced it with a needle cut to size, turned out pretty much as I wanted. Originally an Abe Sapien mini with Hellboy's cut off sword. Turned out ok. An Iron Fist mini with the dragon from a different Iron Fist mini. Not too happy with the paint job though. Anyways, they were my first attempts after all and HC's are very easy to work with. |

That's the way to start... just simple hand/weapon swaps. From there, move up to repositioning arms and heads. Before you know it, you'll be chopping pieces and parts off a dozen different minis and cobbling them together to make a single totally unique piece.

Very cool! Yeah, most of my heroclix collection comes from USD$1.00 or less figures. What do you use to strip them, Legionnaire? I usually just prime over and paint. Edited by RavenFeast, Sep 2 2013, 02:58 AM.
