I know you can get these from em4 now, but I bought them waaaaaay back when they were still made by Grenadier. I painted them years ago, but never got around to taking pics until now. Now that my interest in PA is fired up again, I'm thinking about re-doing some of these. Not that they are bad paintjobs, but my I would make some different choices if I painted them now. They seem too dark to me, I would use some lighter colors to get some more visual interest and contrast.

Please don't repaint those figures. I do repaints myself, but only when I come across something OOP that is crudely daubed. As you have pointed out, these are still available as fresh metal. May I suggest you spring for new duplicates, and paint these to your current preferences. Once they are complete you can then decide which you want to keep. You could then sell on the unwanted set - the one's you have shown are beautifully painted, and I should think many people would be happy to have miniatures painted by yourself in their collection. Yes, that's actually what I intend to do: paint new figures, rather than stripping or overpainting these. I decided to put these up on eBay, and order new copies so I can start fresh. They were really painted more as one-offs to practice my painting technique. At the time, I was getting back into painting after several years off. But I never pursuerd PA gaming seriously beyond these few miniatures. But now the Wastelands 3 rules (and this site) have gotten me inspired to go back into my lead pile and put together some groups based on the various factions. It's PA, so its not the same as painting an army with standard uniforms, but I do like to tie together groups with similar colors so they "go together" on the table. Anyway, it probably won't happen right away, but expect more pictures when they're done. |

NEVER repaint as long as you still got an upainted pile or as long as the miniatures to repaint don't look like shit. Those minis look nice and as you're a wargamer, you have an unpainted lead pile. Therefore you physically cannot repaint them. Also I would reconsider selling them. At least keep them around until you have those replacements painted. |
