Hellgate London is a computer game where the world has been attacked by demons. You pick you way through the ruins fighting all sorts of Zombies and demons to achieve or find certain things - with some trips through hellgates. The game is a 1st person shooter and you get to pick your character type and career path. You can even design the build and look of your character. The game features some pretty cool PA maps of London. Great inspiration for terrain. I think if you tried this game on the table then something like "Occult Wars" would be suitable. HellGate London |

So... I've been looking into this. Does anyone here have any experience with it? How about some funky screen shots?

Sadly no. I played the game for a while and loved it. I played the engineer and as such I could build robots and drones to help me fight the demonic forces. You can play a paladin too - think a knight. The game alows you to modifiy weapons and armour too. The games graphics have some nice views of London. Lots of wrecked buildings, buses and taxies. To add to the scenes there are police cars, military vehicles, roadblocks and checkpoints. The sky is red or grey. Or some mix of the two. In the skies strange lovecraftian elder god types fly about. Too large to be bothered with the PC. Hampden court is a good setting (and uneerily acurate. I walked around it a few years back. Then playing this I was running about dodging flying demons) and there is lots of underground missions. The remains of humanity live in fortifed tube stations. The main missions involve getting to the hellgates. Some times you have to seal them and other times you have to go into hell (more oddball terrain) for something. |
