I have used one or two. Some are simple with rubber tracks and others have ducats bottoms with separate track peices.

They scale up well with 28mm well.

Buying them - yes. Glueing the suckers together - I'll get back to you. Seeing what can be done by one of my old pals - heartbreaking.

Bought half-a-dozen Hobby Boss Pz. Kpfw 754(r) (captured and converted KV-2) for use with IG in 40K - they're a dead ringer for the "Ragnarok" in the "Epic" "Swordwind" supplement. They have the same footprint on the table (and because of the huge turret, the same overall height) as a Lemming Rust, but come in at less than a tenner. Hannants have a couple of the KV-1 variant on sale for a third off. Check the Perth Military Modelling Site for reviews and see what you think.

Cheers,

M

P.S. If you just want a superdetailed tracked chassis to build on in that scale, check out the Hobby Boss T-34 variants. Complete interior and engine bay, even better than the 1970s Bandai kits. Only the same price as the Hobby Boss KVs and Shermans, better than both and probably the best out-of-the-box 1:48th tank kit available at the moment.

P.P.S. If you just want a tracked chassis to build on, Hannants also have the 1:35 Master Box Munitionsschlepper 1 Ausf.A on offer for five quid and it's the right size. Review on PMMS too: the photos show that although the vehicle was stripped of its turret the racer ring and turret base are still on the frames so you could scratch build one.

yep use a lot of 1/48 stuff for my gangs. there are a few very very cheap kits out on the market. cant recall make with that said rubber tracks (in my experiance they are shite for tracks) but usable. if you after a nice helicopter the 1/48 revell UH-1 "huey hog" is a nice kit can pick it up for like £6

Forgot to mention Hannants is banging out the 1:35th Alan Pz.Kpfw.II Ausf.C. for a tenner. Wrong scale but usable size-wise, especially if converting. Ball-ache individual track links but better than vinyl.
Review (of the Ausf.D) here:

Edit: Oops, different suspension on the Ausf.D, my bad, I thought it didn't change before the Ausf.L

Beware of the Tamiya Ausf.F/G kit (TA35009) with the Afrika Korps figures; it may be the same price and Tamiya but it's geriatric crap.

Damn you, Skully, I just received a metric s***load of kits from Hannants the week before last and now I'm contemplating another Stash Augmentation Acquisition... :spank:

Cheers,

M
