Corrakon, thanks for mentioning that figure. It made me look at the picture again and I noticed the "five o'clock shadows" Xander painted on the figures! Again very excellent work. I am always amazed how I can revisit some photos and discovered details that I missed before that illustrate in some very subtle way the skill of a particular artist. |

Thanks chaps - sorry for the delay in replying Carrakon. The answer is - no one, atleast, not quite like that! The base figure is a Great War Miniatures british officer - I removed the helmet and mustache, resculpted the har, modifed the trousers into combats and the puttees into wellingtons. Not a hard conversion, but enough to alter the setting of the figure. I was lucky enough to pick him up cheaply second hand, otherwise it would have been an expensive purchase for the conversion! (It's probably also worth noting that the figure comes with an alternative arm option, with a flare pistol instead of the shotgun... I used the hand with the flare gun on the one legged figure) |

Seen this mortar crew, and thought of this project, with some weapons they could be survivors on a foraging trip ,hunkering down for a pow wow. http://www.westwindproductions.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=126_210_148&products_id=1491 |

....arise ye thread, from the depths of your grave and continue onwards to glory!.... So after a rather abortive start early this year, I am hopefully going to get a bit more winter apoc stuff done. Aiming more for a generic sandbox-type setting rather than worrying too much about precisely crafted full, so the dead pine trees might be getting flocked to turn my dead forest scenery into winter forest scenery. I'm also working on some alien invader types (currently GW Tau) and my Sun worshipping death cult (converted Frostgrave plastics). Pictures of the test figures for both attached.... |
