Cheers :) I'm not sure on the exact date - the rules are now in a new draft, and I hoping to get a play-test game in tomorrow if the Gods are willing. Certainly, I don't think there is too much else to add if the couple of minor changes (dropping the number of AP the characters get from 8 to 6 is the most significant) play out ok. The rules are a lot clearer, and certainly some of the newly added rules look truly awesome, especially the campaign rules...! I know Steve, the author, wants to get a few more pictures sorted, so that has some potential to hold it up a little I guess. As soon as it's available I'll stick links up here, have no fears :)

Never run from a dog Ubba! They like that! :D They leap up at you, know you over and rip out your throat....just like that, see? Ubba? Ubba?
I always find it funny when people say such things as: "Don't run from the rabid dog, he'll chase you!" "Leave the premises in a calm and orderly fashion" or "When you're on fire, roll on the ground and smother the flames until extinguished!" but we all know what people will do in reality... don't we?

Great stuff Xander, I really enjoy the "normal" look on the minis. :)

Forr those asking aboutthe rules - Silent Invader just posted this on the LAF:

Steve

All being well, I reckon that I will have something for download by the weekend. That said, it will be missing some of the images and so will be the final, final, final BETA.

The missing images don't affect playability. Basically, there are cards and/or counters for existing and commissioned characters and objectives (like packs of food) and most still have a box filled with "image to follow". Regarding the paper counters, I'm in the throes of sculpting 3d versions that will be more aesthetically pleasing.

As well as the rules, there will also be a word file for people to make their own character cards. Oh, and a PDF of ground level of the first demo board for those that don't have any terrain but want to print and play (no fancy graphics though).

So, my plan is to release the latest BETA in a few days then update it as images etc become available

Your work just keeps on getting better!

I like the muddy ground you have for the bases of these miniatures and your terrain... what is your "formula" might I ask?

Thanks Tink :)

Just noticed I need to touch up the axe haft...

The basing forumla is: Poly-filla (or other wet grout) slapped on to give a little roughness to the surface of the washer (and to blend in any integral bases and/or plastic-card lifts); GW Stirland mud textured paint; dark brown wash (GW Agrax Earthshade?) and then a devlan mud dry drush. The combination of textured paint & poly-filla gives a range of surface textures which seems to make it look a bit more torn up and mucky.

The static grass is primarily 'camel' with a hefty handful of assorted spring green mixed itno the pot just of break the monotone nature of it up slightly...

Had to walk more than a mile going backwards once because a snarling Greek stray tyke was after me.

Those bases look cool and can be used in any setting which makes them even better.
I wasted all my putty on texturing/filling my bases. Have to try that polyfilla stuff when I find a German counterpart!

Nice stuff, loving the muted colours and the high number of that classic of close combat the 'blunt instrument'.

Cheers Cholly :) Definitely want to keep to atleast a 50:50 balance of fire-arms vs other weapons to try and maintain the UK feel, and as blunt instruments are easy to find (and, in all honesty, to convert) they seem like a good option! :)
