Thanks ![]() Well, it is pretty much my only project at the moment - despite my thoughts a month ago about cracking on and getting some other stuff finished to clear space, I only managed a pitiful 8 20mm figures... Also, although I've been interested in post-apoc gaming for a looong time, it's really only been this project that I've had the ability with green stuff to convert figures into what I want them to, rather than making do. Lots of the factions are therefore things I've thought about on and off about since the early 2000's, and now am actually putting into practice! |

Looking at your output makes me despair sometimes... I can barely manage a single 15mm base or tank a week! Any hints for upping productivity? |

How did you make/ where did you get that helmeted head of the guy in the middle? I love the guy! The rest is very well done, too, but I don't know what precisely *it* is, but the guy in the middle has *it* in spades for me... |

Thankyou chaps ![]() @ Wiggles - I get up when the Missus does (0600) and then don't have to be in work until 0900; so it gives me around an hour every week day. I also usually get up pretty early on the weekends. I tend to paint in 'batches' of about 5-10 figures, and often use the same couple of colours for different parts on the figures (so several will have jeans, or I'll use dark blue for a mix of hats/bags/trousers/jackets, etc). In terms of painting style, just a case of a base alyer, a wash with GW Agrax earth-shade (dipping woruld probably also work) and then highlight. Base once the allocated space on the 'to be based' shelf is filled up with the appropriate stuff. Not sure if any of that helped though... ![]() @Carrakon - He's an Offensive minis rioter, with his sharpened fence post replaced with a spear, and a back-pack and scarf added @Danny - Long life aging It's second hand, and thats how it came to me from eBay! The paint chips had rust effect added, and a earthshade wash are all the painting I've done to it in these pictures

Sounds like a great idea for an offhand game! The winners get painted, and the losers need to fight another game to see if they win a paint job or not!

It's only been a couple of years since I last posted something... that's not tooooooo bad for threadomancy, right?![]() ![]() Some WiP conversions to make some WinterApoc (cannibal?) culties (inspired by the mention of 'Blood cults' in The Road). These guys are probably chasing other survivors to sacrifice to appease the sun god. These chaps are probably 'templars' or some other such name for what passes as militia in the cult, as opposed to the run of the mill meat cleaver and pipe wielding rank and file. The core figures are Frost grave cultists, with Warlord gamesanad gripping beast arms and webbing. Green stuffing to come! |

![]() ![]() The culties, post GS-ing... ![]() ![]() More survivors: The helmeted chap on the end and the guy with the sawn-off had both had most of the work done the other year, so it was just a little bit of finishing off. The two central guys were all new work yesterday. Hoping the Guy in the greatcoat with the DP-28 will fit with the LAM 'Ratnik' Stalker sculpts, possibly for some WinterApoc'ed Twilight 2000 action (I have lots of BTRs that look lonely waiting for 40mm games, and am toying with deploying them for WinterApoc games. Visual insiration will be pulled from Chechnya and the American's in Reign of Fire... Now I just need to work out why Russia invades the UK in the twilight years of humanity... Possibly to secure some sort of mythical hydroponic technology or something) The others are just random survivors. Helmet guy will have raided an army surplus at some point, walking guy is a bit under armed with only a sheath knife and SO shotgun guy may yet get a back-pack or something.... Figures are (L to R) Baker Company, Wargames Foundry, Artizan and WestWind Productions |

Looks great. I look forward to seeing them painted. How about this idea (and it it feasible)... due to government cuts the UK armed forces end up buying old Russian stocks to cope with the equipment shortfalls. Or how about some loony prime minister who thinks it is a great idea to disband the UK armed forces....leaving an open goal for whoever fancies invading. Most of the population are just glad that Russia beat the French to it! |

Lol! Anyone but the French! The 2nd hand Russian kit idea is a good one... maybe tie it in as the fact that the Government didn't want to arouse suspicions about their preperations for the end, and rather than assigning military equipment to facilities they purchased stuff covertly... That might work... |
