I absolutely f###ing love it.

Dark blood works, when used a weathering effect and not a point of interest it works.

My only advice is to start introducing additional 'pre apoc' colours to hint at its previous life. I had a few models early on that I was so stoked the rust/weathering worked I almost didn't push into any other detailing, but the extra push takes it that little bit over and sells the theme.

Love it, love it, love it. keep doing it!

*** edit! ***

toothbrush that dark blood to make it more natural! just something i picked up at GDUB

when i saw this! i was inspired! mate, i thank you for this!
yep 'pre apoc' colours will be making there way onto the next vehicles, i know what you mean when something "work's" and you just keep going with it, so i will be adding now to each new vehicle.
toothbrush method good idea, do you think it should be done on the 'outer edges'? or all over? has you can see ive tried for a large! amount of blood to show this bloke is a grade A nutter!

cheers

GDUB = Games Workshop ... GW ... Geedoubleyou ... Geedub... GDUB. LOL its a staff [exstaff] thing!

Flick the paint at the point of impact as much as you like and let gravity do the rest.

Back to additional colour...

I could have happily left it at metal and rust, but I feel the push for colour made it that little bit better.

Keep up the good work fella

Given that you started good, how is it you just keep getting better? Given I've already used "outstanding" for the Mustang I'm trying to work out what's the next level up in superlatives. Keep this up and I'm going to run out of vocabulary before the new year...

Cheers,

M

THe blood, I didnt think of it as blood when I saw it, it looks really just like part of the rust effect, which is great. I think if you want to do blood then some kind of crusting would be good. Dunno.

Ram C, yep trying to get that dry blood effect while having a vehicle covered in Rust! will blend the effect! it looks better in 'real' life plus my pic's are crap! to say the least, so im going to spend more time sorting out taking pic's from now on, well my son is! he took the ones of the 'Mustang' in PA vehicles and they came out a lot better! oh well maybe dad don't always know better! :twitch:

cheers

Rustys quick, dirty, cheap & effective photography method [should you want it]

1. find a piece of white paper, or card, or large envelope + Bluetack + heavy box [I use my microwave :nuke: ]

2. put bluetack on the bottom and top corners.

3. bend the paper to form a 'L' shape and press the blue tack against the bottom and the top to the heavy not going anywhere thing

4. set your camera to 'macro' - don't use flash!

5. steady your camera and shoot.

Hope it helps bud. As for the colours not coming across, I am seriously colour blind and in real life my stuff looks dull and dark but as soon as its on a computer screen it looks ridiculously bright due to the image being lit from behind!

As for the blood, I like it, its like the blood was wet and got soot and dust dried into it. Remember there is little worse than a kickass APOC vehicle that looks like it drove through a ketchup factory.

keep up the good work fella
