I obtained 6 various diecast 1/43 cars from e-bay for a total of about £15, two of them arrived today! I don't intend to mod them in any way, as they are mostly intended for my upcoming Mage Police setting. These are Italian police cars, I wanted German for the European look but they were more expensive :( . The other four that should arrive in a day or two are: a Ford Focus, an Audi A8, a cabriolet and a Shelby.

Congrats on your first cars and on scoring such a great deal. Watch out as buying cars for wargaming can quickly become an addiction of it's own. I started out buying a couple of cars and now I've got a couple dozen!

As others have/will point out 1/43 is technically too large for 28mm wargaming, but when you take into account the "Heroic" width of most minis, the height of miniatures base, size of other common scales and range of available/affordable cars it's a good option and definitely my preferred scale.

I was mostly in need of some police cars, the price I paid for the two Italian ones were less than the price for one German. I have looked at other people's work and suggestions, and thought it sounded like a good deal (four of them were £1.50 each). Now I feel I've got some nice stuff to put on the table, where did I see those nicely priced pick-ups again???

Awesome cars

But I don't understand why you don't want to modify them.
These cars could be easily turned in german police cars with some paint job.

Been meaning to do this for a while, but didn't get around until today. The remaining four of my cheap Ebay purchases.
