Seems that a common thread is the way everyone is showing their minis, so here's a thread for my post-apoc minis. Today I give you my bikers. Mostly EM4 (formerly Grenadier) miniatures. I'm sure you've seen these figs many times before, but here's my take. ![]() ![]() The Chainsaw fellow is from MegaMinis "Salvage Crew" section. Formerly made by Alpha Forge for their Star Mogul game. The Guy with the rediculous BFG is a Warzone fig. The weapon is truely silly, but it's always nice to have a weapon in the warband that could be a LMG, or a grenade launcher, or a Gehenna Puker or a.... ![]() Except for a bit of drybrushing, all the painting is simply base colors and a brush-dip of Minwax Polyshades Satin Tudor and a matte varnish. In my second-ever attempt at putting decals on figures, here's their biker skull emblems all from GW Imperial Guard decal sheets. ![]() The Flamethrower figure is a MegaMinis fig. Formerly sold by Demonblade Games as a Shockforce Bretheren. Hope you like them. I'll add to this thread as I get proper pics of my other warbands. Edited by eilif, Sep 17 2016, 03:17 PM.

Cool faction. I like the skulls on their jackets very much - adds uniformity without making them look uniform...if that makes sense

Glad you folks enjoyed them. Some of my groups are more varied, but often I do like to give a moderately uniform appearance to my warbands. It seems to me that even (perhaps moreso) in a bleak future, folks would lean toward tribe/group mentalities that would include similar modes of dress or at least some visual sign of affiliation. Bikers gangs of course already have that going for them. Edited by eilif, May 2 2012, 09:20 PM.

Another batch of figs I've had for a while but never got to show off. I've got some other batches of figs like this that I'm going to try and get out for you all. These are Mage Knight Khamsin figures. A few are stock but most have weapon swaps with GW and Warzone weapons and some have head repositions. Nothing too fancy, but modding vinyl sure is easy. These were some of the first figures I brush-dipped with Minwax Polyshades and it shows. Now I dip almost everything. ![]() ![]() ![]() Crappy Group shot ![]() How they compare to EM4 Figures. An metal (Ex-Grenadier) Scavenger and Plastic Trooper. Both with a few minor mods. ![]() I've since picked up a few more in different poses and a few Demonblade and Warzone Tribes of earth figs to complement these guys but they haven't been painted yet. Thanks guys. As for the EM4 Scavenger he's mostly stock except that I removed his umbrella, and replaced it with a plastic Martini Henry from WGF. The end broke off and I replaced the end with a 1/48 WW2 german rifle end. I also used green stuff to patch some of the holes (not all) in the clothes of most the EM4 scavengers that I've painted bought. They should be rough, but some are just too ratty and I figured they would have taken time to at least patch them up a but. |

Junkers Some might not consider this a post apoc faction, but maurading Grecco-Roman'ish hordes with shotguns and swords seems pretty post apoc. These guys started out as intended to be a faction for Wastelands 3 when RadZone gave me a box of Urban War Gladiators. Since then I cought the bug and started hunting down the original Void Junkers. I'll post up the Urban War Gladiators today with Void Junker Foot troops, the sandrunners and buggy to come later. So here's the Original Box of "Urban War" Gladiators, except for the female figs which were a bit to cheesecake for my tastes. These guys are a pretty good skirmish faction on their own. Alternatively thier more detailed style makes them good characters when combined with the more simply detailed Void Junkers. Same figure here, The one on the right is stock, the left has head and weapon swaps. The two below originally had no guns so they've gotten some upgraded firepower The Pit Beast. The painting of these figs was pretty simple. Just basic block paintjobs followed by a brush-dipping of Minwax Antique Walnut (similar to Army Painter "Strong Tone") and a matte spray. A few had a bit of drybrushing either before or after the dip. I'm considering switching to Tudor which is a black pigmented dip like AP "Dark Tone". Edited by eilif, Nov 2 2012, 04:47 PM.

Great stuff. They look brill. I have some old plastic and metal Junkers I use as my Post Apoc Garbage faction. I think they go well. Besides its Post Apoc, anything is allowed even a Hello Kitty faction! If Fallout can have the Legion....

Here's the Void Junkers Foot Troops. They are a bit simpler than the Urban War Junkers and Gladiator figures, but I really like the style. These three came with the Desert Maurader Scavneger (to be seen later...) as crew, but I based them separately on 20mm slottas (instead of 25mm) so they can more easily be placed in/on vehicles. These are the first batch of Junkers Troops. 8 Legionnaires, 4 Praetorians and a Praetor Maximus. The decals are space Marine Tank decals. I've managed to get enough that I should have no problem decaling all of the 48 more Legionnaires that are currently sitting on my table about 2/3 finished painting. ![]() Close up of a Centurion and Legionnaire Sargent ![]() Coming later, the Scavenger buggy and Sandrunners.
