Took almost a day to make all those bloody boxes - I had no idea what I was getting myself into!
But soooo well worth it. Those are amazing! how did you make the packing tape? labels? The whole thing? Please tell :bouncy:
So sorry for the ridiculously late reply!
the packing tape is actual packing tape cut to small strips. The boxes themselves are made from envelopes. This brown-ish paper is usually used for the bigger ones. Just draw on a grid, cut it out and assemble the boxes. Or rather don't - it takes forever :)

The labels are just various barcodes, warning signs and symbols printed on normal paper and glued on.

I agree with Tink, we need more vaultiness soon. Any chance of a vehicle bay, laboratory, and front entrance?

Yeah I'm sorry I slowed down. Thankfully the missus is occupied over the weekend, so I just might do it!
Yet to come are
-a power generator and water purification system
-a command centre
-an armory
-a larger entrance area with vehicle bay and decontamination stuff
-a lab complex

after those, I'll do some corridors and after that I'd like to do some ventilation shafts to give people more options to sneak around in the complex.

I'm looking forward to the "power generator and water purification system." Any thoughts of how your going to detail those out?

I guess the power plant will be a water turbine as I found suitable round pieces from packaging to make the characteristic round housing. As for the purification i have no idea yet. Probably some tank and a crapload of valves and pipes.

Ok, it has come to my attention that I have been quite the slacker in terms of keeping you guys updated - sorry about that!

In order to make up for it, I got 2 new rooms to show:

First is the lab - every underground complex needs a lab for the mad scientist (is there any other kind in the post-apoc world?) to play in!

Here's the general layout. As you can see, it is compartmentalized in order to maximize security when the good doctor works with harmful biological agents:
Posted Image

First you enter the sick bay. After all it is handy to have the laboratory close to your wounded and sick vault dwellers - we wouldn't wanna risk them dying before you can experiment on them, wouldn't we.

Next is the operating room. Note the biohazard suit in the locker in the corner!
Posted Image

Next on the scale of 'Oh-my-god-how-did-I-end-up-in-this-hell?!' is the area where the drugs, samples, and face-eating bacteria are kept:
Posted Image

Followed by the lab with bio-hazard-level 'For the love of god, please just kill me already!':
Posted Image
As you can see, there#s cuddly mutant abominations in those jars, a nice operating table aaand...

A stash of human popsickles. As is the universal law, one of the chambers malfunctioned and now houses a skeleton (unfortunately hard to tell on the picture due to the reflections on the plexi-glass).
Posted Image

And secondly we have a command center - the brain of the vault:
Nice cubicles... Let me know what you think of the computers as they're my first attempt at casting my scratch-built stuff!
Posted Image

Posted Image

So after our trip to the doctor's hellhole we can relax! nothing dangerous here! Wait! what's that over there?
Posted Image

Oh crap! An insane A.I.! (Is there another kind?)
Even has blinking lights salvaged from a toy!
Posted Image

The builders of this magnificient artificial lunatic decided to go the extra mile and combined HAL 9000 (the blinking red light), Skynet in the form of the wonderful Helena Bonham Carter and Colossus - what could possibly go wrong?!

So that's it for now - I hope you guys like it!

As always the details are impressive. I like your hand built computers. Did you go with full CRT monitors instead of flat screens because they have the retro look or because flat screens were too difficult to construct?

Well ya know.. I pondered that question for a long time... nah, I'm not gonna lie: Due to a gigantic brain fart I didn't think of modern monitors because I haven't used a desktop pc in ages. Actually flat screens would be easier to construct :)

Funnily enough I did remember the existance of flat screens for the crapload of screens in the A.I. room

Well I guess in a government installation, some old equipment makes sense :)
