After seeing some rather niche paper terrain and texture links, I decided to give it a try and do an underground Vault. First I'll do the necessary rooms and then some corridors to connect them with a possible addition of ventilation shafts afterwards. As building material I use MDF plates. So far I got two rooms pretty much done: Restrooms and the canteen: The Restrooms: Looks like someone had rather liberal ideas about cleanliness... ![]() ![]() ![]() The canteen: view through the entrance ![]() dining area ![]() everybody get in line! ![]() The kitchen ![]() Somebody's been slacking with the dishwashing... ![]() Still to do: -paint the exposed MDF grey. I'll do this step last so i can do it in bulk. -design and build doors. I'll ake them open/closable. Haven't decided on a design yet and will probably also do them later in bulk. -Add some more details to the canteen. Garbage cans, some trash lying around,... that kind of thing. If you have ideas, let me know! Basically, I'm aiming at the grey area between an abandoned/ never actually used facility in excellent condition (given the circumstances) and an occupied facility in dire need of repair. On my to do list of rooms there is: - Sleeping room - Showers - a recreational area - a gym These would be the bare essentials to make the layout plausible. I also plan to add - storage - generator room - laundry - hydroponic garden - workshop - offices/ control room - a security facility with cells and armory And if I feel like it, I'll later do a lab as well. Let me know what you think! Edited by Carrakon, Oct 2 2017, 03:54 PM.

Glad you like it. This TV Trope is basically the idea behind the level of detail I'm aiming for. Also even a - from a wargaming perspective - useless little room like the toilet can make a nice addition to a campaign game. Maybe some survivor hides there in a stall for the protagonists to find? Will our heroes rescue him in time before he becomes mutant-lunch? Will the protagonist bring the missing toilet aper with them? |

No, the tables are plastic card and cheap NOT-Lego. The toilets are Space Marine shoulder pads with some plastic card and the sinks are bases turned upside down. The cafeteria chairs are indeed thumb tacks. Got something new to show! First some shots of additional detail in the cafeteria: Note the clock on the wall and the newspapers on the tables: ![]() Trash ![]() Mr. Coffee: ![]() Meal plan: ![]() Next I did a laundry room: ![]() Some details: ![]() ![]() couldn't resist putting a sneaky intruder in there! ![]() And currently I'm working on a small gym - needs more equipment, though:
