Stalker; A great game!

Administrator Posts: 3,715 Group: Admins Member #1 Joined: Jul 22, 2008	Ok not really in a Post Apoc setting - but it feels pretty damn close. You wander around Chernyobl looking for loot and performing missions. The whole place is full of mutants, trigger happy soldiers, ruthless mercenaries, bandits, anarchists, cultists, zombies and cultists. Add to that ruins, wrecked vehicles, warped laws of physics, radiation and PSI emitters that fry your brain and you have a pretty addictive game. Great fun with lots of inspiration for those in PA games. Worth a look.

Great inspiration for your PA games. Check out some of the NPC names. Great for PA characters. STALKER contacts/NPC This is the best weapon in the game: Tunder S14 Guess who's rulesets have all have rules for this weapon?

Stopped a bandit assault at the garbage aided by a scoped Okoban with a sniper mod. Then I bumped into a bunch of bandits coming through the gate at the old checkpoint. Hiding behind a truck I blew them all to pieces without taking a single hit. I am running the 1.05 patch and noticed that the mutant dogs now drag dead bodies off. Then at the rail bridge I sneeked up on a bunch of military and took them out with the silenced Vintar BC sniper weapon. Not one shot fired at me in anger! Nice.

Administrator Posts: 3,715 Group: Admins Member #1 Joined: Jul 22, 2008	I have. It is more squad based, where your character Merc is forced to help various factions to get to the mission end. It seems more mission based with less chance to explore. There is new locations (with some from Shadow removed) and you get to cross the river. The game also introduces new anomloies - time and space ones. There is new weapons mainly LMG's and vertical double barrelled shotguns. The game has true night and day cycles and you often end up in pitch black, best get a stalker suit! Also it features weapon and armour modifications and repairs in various camps. That is one of the better features of the game. One thing to note is that the mutant beasties are a lot more difficult to kill and often appear in large groups. Shame no one has done a patch to add the new maps, weapons and other features to Stalker yet. If you are out there reading this - hint, HINT! Both games are good but I prefer the first one and look forward to seeing the third game (out soon).

SPEAKING of PS3, i am having a blast playing CONFLICT: DENIED OPS at present, having finished off FAR CRY 2 and MERCS 2: WORLD IN FLAMES earlier in the year. i do lurv FPS video games! DAWGIE
