Thought I'd start a thread to show off my sci-fi stuff to use with 1st edition 40k. It might not be updated to often but I plan to build some small 1000pt armies for use with the orginal 40k. First up then an Ogryn for a small IG force I'm toying with putting together.

This is a resin miniature that I converted (the top picture is the original version). I wanted him to be a bit different (not to mention only boneheads carry guns in first edition 40K) so I chopped of his leg and rebuilt it with green stuff so it could stand on an alien head. I also rebuilt an alternative hand with green stuff and a spare ork axe to replace the gun.
Painting wise I went for a white undercoat and used washes and highlights which worked well ....I think.

Nice conversion. I am loving the paint on the googles. Lots of character in that paintjob.

I love the old 40K RT rules. The do everything you could ever want. The only difference I have made to the rules is change the You go I Go system into more random initiation and move a figure at a time rather than units.

Awesome. Love the Sarge with Laspistol and Chainsword. What's the heavy weapon? Conversion Beamer?

Yep I'm using it as a conversion beamer. It's actually a Maxmini tesla cannon there is also a Maxmini grenade launcher as well (3rd guy down). The weapons are big but I think they look bigger becuase although the Warlord games figures are about the same size as a GW guardsmen, their hands are actually to scale, unlike GWs classic fists the size of my head look.

Thanks man. Want that tesla cannon for some vsf british I'm working on. Only got rifles so far so a few exotic special and heavy weapons would round things out nicely.
