I have a bunch of the old mines of moria lord of the rings starter set terrain and some other miscellaneous stuff for terrain like colums and wells but I'm not sure if I should base my terrain or leave it loose and paint it that way. Opinions? Tips? please and thank you I'll post pictures of my terrain once I'm done.

I would say if you don't know if you should, judge by practicality. Are the players using the terrain heavy handed and klutzy, constantly knocking around the terrain? How stable is your playing surface, does it get jostled about whenever a player leans too far over the table? It is a question I've asked myself. |

I base mine, but I tend to use fairly small bases made from cut up credit/membership card bases |

As I am "heavy handed and klutzy, constantly knocking around the terrain", mine gets based.

Ah that is the question....To base or not to base,to suffer the slings and arrows of tippage or chunky monkey terrain. Stability is important to me but if I can get away with it I like the nude terrain look. |
