Left over balsa/bass wood from previous model projects, originally from a local hobby craft shop, corrugated art card picked up in a pack of vibrant colours (aimed at kids) from the same place and a few bits of left over plastic sprue (I'm a bit of a hoarder when it comes to things I think might make good scenery)

Pictures of last nights effort. I tackled the waterfall using a tutorial I found on a model railway website. Basically you build a clear plastic backing and then use clear silicone sealant to build the water texture on to the plastic backing and fill the pools. It looked easy enough but Silicone sealant is a right *&%£^%& :cnurk: to deal with gets bloody everywhere and sticks to everything except where you want it to stick :no2: . I've tried to make the water look dodgy (toxic, radioactive) but still like water (rather than sludge) hence the green colour.

Quite a lot of bad language involved in this part of the build. I think the final results are OK for a first time effort I think with a few more goes I could probably pull it of quite well. The one thing I had to change from the tutorial is that I couldn't attach the bottom of the waterfall into the bottom pool and blend it in becuase I need to able to remove the top pool to access the cave behind the waterfall.

Did you tint the silicone or is it just picking up the background color?

Bit of both. The silicone is clear but quite opaque (there's a skeleton in the bottom pool who is now invisible) so the colours I painted underneath show through but not as much as I'd hoped. So I added some highlights to the top of the silcone (the paint will take as long as it's not watered down to much).
