if your anything like me skirmish wargaming ( and sometimes 'normal' wargaming :P ) wil only feel right if your armys/gangs/charecters background has a story. so here goes you can post any fluff related to your PA gangs past,present and future! feel free to coment o other peoples fluff or help devolop it...

one of my WIP gangs:

the anarchist league
in the high footholds of the rocky mountains, bunker number 666 lay dormant for several generations until the nuclear winter ended and it was safe to enter the new world.however the doors did not open. the military officials and elected individuals who were inbred families of the original appointed commanders.
wouldn't allow it for they knew that once the great lead doors swung open there power would end and they would not be allowed to lead the bunker anymore. so across the bunkers public TV screens looped footage of a nuclear winter, flooded the public senses. this went on for several years, scavengers and prospectors began to look at the un-opened bunker with growing curiosity and fear...
some how the anarchists found out about the out side wasteland through exploration of the escape tunnels and told the civilian population in a matter of days a vicious civil war broke out between the anarchists,the civilian population and the officials in charge.
the anarchists fought against the government burning books on the old world, destroying any symbol of the american and capitalist ideas the bunkers leaders upheld. while the government split into factions, alliances and family's and destroyed itself in a matter of days. all while the civilian minority was executed by the government for not joining a side.
with the regime destroyed the anarchists seized power and lynched the old leaders from the lamp posts of every street.
powered on by success they crafted Armour and weapons from the scrap left.
with vehicle fleets and scores of soldiers they blew open the great blast doors and fled into the wasteland leaving a trail of death and fire behind them. they are fighting against hunanity, capitalism and order. press ganging any survivors from villages they capture they have a large and growing population growing that at last census was about 859 soldiers and 238 citizens and non coms.

vicious slavers and raiders they are currently in a trench warfare stalemate with the unite americania republic.
they have a reputation of destruction and mistreatment of their soldiers and men, many feel its easier to put your gun i your mouth than let them take you alive..

the UAR are, possibly the best example of a Phoenix from the ashes. they were some of the first 'civilized' people to venture out into the wastes. slowly moving in forts and outposts set up in various towns and cities they soon set up a capital in
Nu-York and defend it as best they can, but holding out the enemy was a tough and fierce battle they fought in the streets and subways they have sworn to protect. they are often found employing stalkers and merchants to scavenge or barter as much old world technology and memorabilia they can find, there ranks swell every day as new recruits are drafted in with the promise of food and water care packages sent to your settlement, the more men you give the more supplies you get. and with a population of thoasands they have no shortage of volunteers.

at the moment they are trying to set up a democratic system based from representatives from each area. a plan often defeated with by the constant flux in population. all the while besieged by the anarchist leagues, the knights of NU-York and the other groups of mutants and raiders that breed, fight and die within their lands borders. and every day the anarchists get a few more meters south...

Interesting stuff.

What sort of tech level are the two groups at? The anarchists don't sound like they can maintain the industrial production required to fight (and win) at trench warfare unless of course they use more exotic techniques like suicide bombers or such like. But then again, Caesar's Legion and the NCR were at a similarly gruelling stalemate in F:NV while their tech levels were completely mismatched simply due to the general incompetence of the NCR leadership.

in fluff i kinda think the anarchists are not all about running screaming towards the enemy there a coordinated military force not a rabble. they travel in irregular squads without commanders but take orders from higher rank systems ( and although they know this disagrees with anarchy, they are told sacrifices must be made to kill capitalism)
weapons are very close combat orientated shotguns, assault rifles and SMGs
every trooper would carry several knives, there not adverse to a spot of cannibalism.
the important thing to remember is these guys are not just 40k chaos rip offs, they use tactics and vehicles even have artillery i kind of compare them to a more brutal version of the Russian defenders in Stalingrad, they have been brain washed into thinking the enemy is evil and sub-human so will use any means necessarily to destroy them... :M-4:

tech levels for the UAR are quite similar to modern day small arms not tanks, helicopters and planes. because they knew the location of a couple of bunkers full of weaponry when the bombs dropped. and own several factories set up in bases.

however gas-masked mook is right the anarchist league is slowly losing the trench warfare specializing in "blitzenkrieg" tactics. but they do have stolen UAR weapons and will fight to the death for the cause. also mutants are accepted into the anarchist leagues so it always helps to use some mutated man-mountains to crush enemy lines!
they are no against suicide bombing and often each it as a efficient way of killing capitalists!
