During the battle of Stalingrad, in WWII, Sgt. Yakov Pavlov led 25men in the defense of a strategically located fortified apartment building. They held an overwhelming superior, in size and firepower, German force at bay for over a month, until relieved.

Wiki Entry On Pavlov's House

With this story in mind, I am going to try to create a center piece for my TEOTWAWKI table. I am not going to replicate the building above. I am going to try to replicate a terrain piece that captures the feel of a last ditch defense in an epic struggle, though.

With the way my "ground cloth" will work, this piece (maybe pieces) will be a central block, which I can put the other pieces I've been doing around, so that the "enemy" can attack from all directions, while the "good guys" desperately defend their little fort.

Looks like I'll be placing another order to Gamecraft :-)

Lol will be good to see this built. I used to play the the very first Call Of Duty and this was the centre of one of my favorite maps for Search and Destroy

Aha! I'm glad I'm not the only one to recognise this from COD! It'll make for an interesting table centre and certainly a good idea for a PA fortification :)

I know it from Red Orchestra (and from history books but mainly Red Orchestra). Some truly epic games went down in there. I would be very happy to see some of that desperate last stand atmosphere reproduced on the table.
