many post apoc games and films have neo nazi or fascist fundamentalists naturally the are great bad guys and villains for scenarios! also quite a plausible idea: 1. religion: quite a lot of religious text is about superiority, with records destroyed pieces could fall into the wrong,easily influenced hands and if they mis read it or whatever you can get a group of angry raiders believing that only the strong will inherit (whats left) of the world...2.survival: desperate men i desperate times turn to people they dont fully understand ( he says, quoting batman: the dark knight!) just look at the rise of the nazi party after ww1 =( 3.superiority: a group of semi- mutants may belive themselves to be the next step of evolution homo supeior! so may decide its there duty to exterminate whats left of the human race. just in case anyones intrested? |

Mine is more tribal to feudal based too. The most powerful factions only hold around a 20 mile radius of turf in their control. Many control as little as 50 to 150 yards radius from their base. Stronger factions may control up to 1 to 2 miles Radius. Much of their control is due to patrolling their turf. Some do not hold control of much turf but patrol out many miles into the wastes. Factions in city ruins are always fighting hungry mutants off. |

In my WIP fluff 'society' is pretty much inspired by Warlord-era China (that is: 1911-192X). You have all those petty warlords who don't even pretend to be anything but a bunch of thugs (historically there was no such thing as nationalism - all the military commanders were loyal to the emperor alone...now when that got kicked out, they were left with nothing....). In my setting pretty much everyone who had any kind of unifying idea has been killed a long time ago - turns out a bunch of would-be saviors of mankind, who only want to do it 'for the people' don't get along as good as one might think So you're left with inward looking, isolationist settlements and more or less batshit insane warlords roaming the countryside. Only the Republic of Texas is an exception to that, although it could be argued that calling extortion 'taxes' doesn't make it better
