Hi Danny "MattBlackGod",

Thanks for setting up this forum, post apoc is one of my favorite genres since I played Fallout back in the day and I've been dying to play some mini games based on this theme.

Off to check out the rest of the forum.

-Tom

Hello and welcome Grimnor, Tinker and Tom/Mason Studios.

Hey - we needed a place for us wasteland and ruins lovers...

I am Danny and I am a Post Apoc fan and nearly as nuts as Ross. Ross and Xander both inspired me to set this up, only to save space on our minis pages :D (freewebs limits you to 20 before charging!).

Have fun.

Danny

Hello.

I am 30yo, from Australia, and never seem to have anyone to play with. I have downloaded some free games and am slowly building forces for them.

I usually call myself chironex when I join a new forum but someone on Railpage Australia asked if I was the same chironex fleckeri as on the Ulysses forum, no I'm not old enough and have no R class licence nor could I ever afford such a heavy bike! So I used my starship modeler name.

Hi Folks, saw the post on the THW Yahoo! group and thought I'd drop in for a look-see. I Don't game nearly as much as I'd like due primarily to Family - By the time kiddos are in bed, place is tidied up and I've got gear ready for work the next day, there's bugger all gaming time left! :'(

When I do game, it's typically a small solo affair with a THW ruleset - Big fan of Eds reaction system. Don't game anything in particular, and have always loved the PA Wasteland type of setting, cutting my wargaming teeth on GWs Necromunda in my teenage years. Gotta get motivated to do lots of things, but PA is certianly on the list somewhere :$

Shadowbeast - I'm 30 and in Australia too, Over in Perth. If you have a hard time finding folks to play with, seriously take a look at Two Hour Wargames - Excellent solo ability.

Oops. Sorry. Should have done this first.

Hello, all! I'm Al, a.k.a. RavenFeast, and have been playing with toy soldiers since object permanence, though with published rules for the last 31 years. Started off with fantasy, then scifi, and a brief flirtation with historicals. Now it's Post Apocalyptic, Pulp, Victorian Scientific Romance, the Sagas, and Pirates have been sighted on the horizon. I'm lucky enough to be a part of a club that meets once or twice a week depending on our schedules & mood, and we have hosted games at the local conventions.

Welcome onboard Pup & shadowbeast. Do I detect a trend with aussie wargamers and PA? (Mad max must have had more of an effect on the national psyche than I realised)

Al - those are some pretty nice PA figure's you've got there! I also owe you a bundle of thanks - your rivets&steam site was one of the main things that got me into VSF gaming!

I don't know where to begin or end. Remember VEU? It was a cable channel, meaning it was *one* channel you switched the box over and voila! movies! Thing about VEU was that it showed the Road Warrior nearly nonstop. You'd think it was the only movie they had in their library they played it so much.
Later the more local stations would run such gems as Endgame, Texas Gladiators 2020, After the Fall of New York in their midnight dead air slots along with Billy Jack, Deathrace 2000, Deathsport and all that.
I ate up all that stuff regardless of quality and when we're talking about Italian post-apocalypse films there is usually a great chasm between good and bad film making but I like them regardless. Basically anything with fast cars (or sped up film anyway) football pads painted black, and a desert background is worth a watch and probably multiple viewings for that matter.
Wargaming... I got into it five years ago. Always involved in RPG's but got an itch to learn to paint the figures and well... The rest is history as they say. I usually play sci-fi, post apocalypse, or near modern crazy stuff. I'm not really into the tactical side of wargames so much as the drinking alcohol with friends side of things.

Hi Pup and Two Gun Bob - Welcome!

Ravensfeast I have to admit your Rivet and Steam nearly got me thinking about VSF. Maybe I will when the wastelands start to bore me! :D You have some nice PA minis there - good to see I am not the only one with a Zed mini! :D

Hey, it's nothing to be ashamed of! It feels a little weird at first, but after a couple of goes at it, you soon learn what works and what doesn't - what gives you the most enjoyment. You don't need to argue with anyone about who wants which role this time around, or who preffers what style of play, and when it's all done, there's no arguments over who has to clean the sheets table afterwards.

:P
