Brummie. Thanks for the "find" of Rogue Miniature. How do they compare sizewise with the standard Reaper and say Hasslefree miniatures? Theres a lot of variation in 28mm! Edited by 1000 yard stare, Nov 28 2011, 12:48 PM.

Thanks Brummie. Guess what? I dont think I have a single one of those figures for comparison! You have done a good job on bringing them alive with the paint job! In the raw they didnt look very promising. I better try and sort out my back log first anyway. I have done about 25 recently that are done and based, about half of those need the bases finishing with a little more paint on the features. I think I have about 30 on the bench varying from 90% done to in undercoat. Unfortunately thats not including the Zombie hoard. Im really struggling with them. The Wargames Foundry kit I bought I dont love. The minis are not at a great scale for me and I was going to use resin scenic bases to lift them must then the EM4 Scavs arrived and deserved them better. The zombies are not crisp and lack detail, I suppose because of the mix and match nature of the figures. Couple that with not being able to decide on a skin tone and there you go parked zombie hoard, 30% built and looking down on the breathers in progress from atop my printer. Actually I have turned them all round so I dont feel their accusing gaze. Sad I know! Knowing that you like the vault dwellers how about taking that approach to the Statuesque Miniatures SOE girls. I think they would keep me amused in the vault! ![]() ![]() I have really enjoyed painting these. They are very slender though and the limbs are tricky to pin. http://www.statuesqueminiatures.co.uk/home Edited by 1000 yard stare, Nov 28 2011, 03:19 PM.

They are very nice Are they resin figs? I quite like Hasslefree's Tomoko as a Vaultie fig. Waiting for her to come out in metal though as I prefer metal over resin. I wanna pick up some Reaper figs at some point for vaulties. I have some WIP Hover cars on my blog at the moment have a peak and let me know what you think as i'm not sure at the minute |

They are metal. I ordered a Maximini Guardsman Sniper which is the only figure I think I have ever had in true resin.![]() The WF Zombies are plastic like the GW 40K stuff. Im a big fan of metal. |

I saw that idea on Matakishis blog. Unfortunately I and my buddies work in IT. They look like mice to me and I fear they might break the spell. However, if you have the wireless laser versions and leave them on flying stands they will pulse with a red light in standby mode! Atmospheric! |

In the spirit of constructive comment. Have you looked at the Matchbox adventure 2000 vehicles from the 70's. Like this. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MATCHBOX-ADVENTURE-2000-No-K-2003-CRUSADER-VN-MIB-/260868613009?pt=UK_ToysGames_DiecastVehicles_DiecastVehicles_JN&hash=item3cbcfb2391 I picked up one of these not long ago for £0.50 not the rediculous sum this guys after. There are some interesting things in that range for Sci fi gaming. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MATCHBOX-ADVENTURE-2000-No-K-2004-ROCKET-LAUNCH-/300575668502?pt=UK_ToysGames_DiecastVehicles_DiecastVehicles_JN&hash=item45fbb4b916 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Matchbox-Adventure-2000-RAIDER-COMMAND-/150707146579?pt=UK_ToysGames_DiecastVehicles_DiecastVehicles_JN&hash=item2316d88f53 I think Hasslefree's Tomoko figure rocks. Have to be a bit careful in their range though on scale. I have a figure that I will have to use as a child. The Underworld inspired ones are a little on the petite side too. |

Theres more to be done I think i'm gonna add land skids and perhaps some pods. I'm undecided so i'm after suggestions. Ha i'm in IT too hence the pilfered mice Edited by Brummie, Nov 28 2011, 04:05 PM.

I have Kitty and Maria painted. They are like mother and daughter! Both mine have an air of Chavette. Combined with 2 figures I picked up from Reaper they would make an excellent Zombieland tribute. I even scored a yellow Hummer and was contemplating daubing the side with a 3. You have to make time to enjoy the little things. Sadie is small and Kev is short though if you say that to his face he has multiple options on how to kill you. Dionne without the coat would be a good vaulty. I like my figures Harby sized. I was trying to work out how to use PC components to make compelling scenery only the other day. |

The Ebay examples I sent are rediculously priced. You can get these for under £5 regularly. The turret one as I say I picked up for 50p. I was thinking about your mice hover vehicles. I think what Matakishi liked about them was the smooth flowing lines. I think what kills it for me is that the smooth flowing line is just a mouse to me. The only way to kill that is to break up the silouette. Turrets, drop pods, weapon hard points, maybe an F15 bubble canopy over the roller button. etc. You could stick card panels all over it to make it look plated. Then of course you have totally changed the simplicity that attracted you to this in the first place. Probably overkill! |

So just checked back on your blog and you had come up with a lot of that yourself. What was the cockpit dome? What about some stubby wings? if nothing else they could be mounting points for other weapon systems. |
