It does appear to big slightly large... but by adding the appropriate wasteland modifications no one will know! I gut reaction is add a third axle and make it look like a modified Deuce and half.

1/48 scale possibly. Still there is no reason why it can't be a 4x4 jeep of some kind. If you look a Willys Jeep is tiny compared to a Hummer. Even most modern 4x4s are much larger.

Who cares about scale? I like my cars to have roughly the same dimensions, so I mix scales as well - some older cars are just tiny compared to a hummvee or somesuch. Bought a 1:43 Citroen CV - an old French compact car once. Scale-wise it should be a tad too big but the tiny thing looks RIDICULOUS next to a mini. The French used to be midgets, MIDGETS I TELL YA! As long as the seats look comfy enough for a 28mm mini, you`re good to go imho. In your alternative timeline this is the retro designed Willy's Jeep Mk II - Jeep's attempt to cash in on the 'ridiculously oversized SUV'-market ;)

...the new mini aint't so mini .. it was designed that way ... otherwise the oversized ego's of their "cool", "hip" "fashionable" or how they call it these days, owners won't fit in.

That Jeep is 1:32 scale by the looks of it. But you're right, as long you're happy anything goes. (famous qoute of the missus by the way)

Funny thing is that the heads of 1:35 or even 1:32 scale soldiers (multipose tamiya/airfix) will fit perfect on a heroic scale 28mm figure most of the time.

Now use that ride to score and collect some roadkills! I'm hungry.

dont forget alot of 4wds get lifted for more clearance rock crawler style.

i wish i still had my landy 90 it had 2"lift and 33/12.50/15 all terrain tyres on.
most cars could only see a metal front bumper in their rear view mirror when i was behind them lol.

that was the other thing going through my mind as well it could just be the lift and the tires on the jeep

Either! The stripes may be a pain to do. I would say the interceptor would be the easier to paint.

that was my thinking as well i saw the stripes and went thats not what i remember that would be a bugger to paint then i saw the other paint job and was relived

Also i need some tracks for the jeep i was looking at getting some from Ramshakle games it it would cost me 9USD to get them and ship them to the US more then the model itself not worth it to me here is what i was thinking of http://shop.ramshacklegames.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=25_43&products_id=57

if any one has something i could use let me know

Foe 42,
Nice figs. I'll be interested to see how you convert the Matchbox rover to 28mm scale!

Are you still looking for those ramshackle tracks? I might have them. Alternatively, I've got a set from the Robogear Varan that are a bit bigger. You can see them here: The driver figure is about 34mm scale.
