Cool, you're getting closer to a game. Have you had thought's of introducing these to your reenactment group?

I have - as a couple of them are ex-wargamers, i'm planning to get them over for a beer one evening and suggest a game then....

In fairness, I could probabably get a game out of my exisiting armies - the Early saxons are finished (well... they aren't, and I'll keep adding to them, but the army is playable :) ) and if I used the black-shield Irish as mercenaries I could field an early german or viking army against them. I think what I'll actually end up doing is getting both the Viking and mid-late saxon armies definitely finished before i start enticing anyone to play, as these two should handel differently to each other, and also to the more mobile early period armies :)

Danny - do you mean in my second post of the day ? (I'll get some 'whole collection' photos sorted out at some stage soon, and the same for my PA stuff too...)

Or are the pictures of the vikings, saxon fyrd, dragon, etc not showing up?

Weird, they wouldn't load before.

That Fenbeast is awesome! Nice work on that Dragon. You are getting enough together for a game or ten!

Thanks for the comments guys :)

Weird that they wouldn't load Danny... still, they seem to have done now, which is good :) definitely good to have 2 photobucket accounts :)

Brian - As I reenact the viking period, I do feel a certain closer connection to the figures - albeit because I'm more used to trying to hit the buggers with a sword! (Random trivia note - the saxon with the green kyrtle/tunic, helmet and funny shaped sword (langsax) has been done to look like my reenactment gear...)

Lol!

I have a few mini-me's floating around... apart from the afore-mentioned saxon, there's the Britapoc officer with the shotgun and centre parting; and I'm sure there are others which I have forgotten.... (I need to do one for my early west stuff too at some stage...)#

I must admitt to having a vague plan to try and work all the members of my reenactment group into the mid/late saxons and viking armies. Not sure how well I'll do, but I know I can get atleast 2 folks I know from reenacting (although not from my group) in there.... but I guess they are fairly archetypal anyway....

Matching the colors of their garments and shield designs, and adding facial hair if it's there is a small start. DOing such things adds to the pleasure of the hobby.

Nice work. Although I did read the date as the 1950's at first and confusion followed!
