Looks like I need to do the rest of my S-I up as warbands then... Luckily they aren't glued to the bases yet! I'll just use the two bases I've done so far as Spear bases (ala the later list) or just say that the 'proffessional warriors' count as blades....

And Jute, Frisian, Ostro/Visigoth, squint eyed steppe nomad, hairy barbarian, poncy toga fancier and axe sharpener which ever trampled across europe bewteen about 400 and 800 AD....

Ok, it was a bad pun....
I doubt I'll even build a quarter of the army lists I put up... but I can fantasise!

As usual I am coming late to the party. I love HOTT its a good game, simple with a lot of nuances and great fun. Yes the rules are all over the place and sometimes strangely worded but once you get over that you are good to go. We used to double up the points and play larger armies but that was in 15mm. At the moment we are running a club ancients campaign using HOTT so we can have heroes etc. One word of warning the planning and making elements is highly addictive.

Thanks for the compliments

Already found planning elements (And armies!) addictive... I imagine I'll only find it more so! I was also thinking of doubling army sizes, just to get a few more elements on the table...

4 Elements awaiting basing, lots awaitin paint... and I've had a cunning plan. Very tempted to base up my germainc/saxon chieftain and his body guard as a behemoth base (usually reserved for things like cave trolls and the like)...

Right... here's why I've been so quite. About 2/3rds newly painted, and the remaining 3rd has been tarting up old paint schemes (more shading primarily)

Just been pointed towards a great sounding skirmish game called Age of Blood. Sounds like a cross between mordhiem and battle troll... Going to read the rules in the next few days. But what to do if I like it? It'll be back to singly based figures again; and then the dilema of wether to keep these on their bases or pop-em off and rebase them individually...

Not a proper update, as I'm awaiting a few more figures to arrive so that I can make up visually pleasing elements. Here's what I've painted thus far:

Quite a bit of new work, they look good! I especially like how ya posed the first photo with the Viking and his Crow!.

Rebasing for various gaming systems is such a hassle...

Cheers Tink :)

With my generally lack of gaming, I'm going for look - which eventually solved my 'singly vs unit' basing...
